  3. Nice job  Man i wish we could get NOS engines over here ! :POSTPICS!:
  4. Thanks for starting this ben, I should give mine a go (only two out of my six look good) which obviously does not make a full set lol !
  5. Be great if it was sorted and parted out a little more ! (not many people i know will spend 2k on parts for so many models/makes at the same time)
  6. Very Nice, what else are you planning ? Show us some more pics :POSTPICS!:
  7. Looking good :POSTPICS!: So, whats next ?

  10. I would be interested to know as well :POSTPICS!: I know the KE17 SL had a tacho etc, but unsure about the 20s. Anyone know/have one ?
  11. WOW !!! What an inspiration ! ;) Keep at it man, you sure have your priorities right
  12. Lol philbey, will see how I go. My mate's in the middle of a full respray and he is in year 12, so spose a little work can't hurt. I might get a bit done soon.
  13. Glad to see you have started this topic :rocknroll: I started the same kinda one in the VIc section but no one could answer, thanks. Cam, would also be interested in the pros/cons Cheers
  14. Thanks guys, Will check the colour match when i get up to it, thanks for the starting point though Doug :lolcry: Unfortunately not much happening yet, Mum says school comes first  (she's probably right)
  15. Thanks for the replies guys. Have heard of detroit lockers, but don't particularly want one for this application. Thanks for the pointer on the phantom grip redwarf, sounds like they are as easy to find as an early TRD LSD ! (as mentioned in the TRD dry sump thread) Will keep looking at all options, if anyone reading this knows of one don't be afraid to let us know. Thanks
  16. Sounds good Ben, good to see you have got yourself another ! :hmm: Hanging out for pics.
  17. Hey guys, I am looking at having some form of LSD in my KE20 when i get the 5k together for it later this year. I am interested in a unit that does not require the changing of the housing or the whole rear end. I remember a while back this was discussed in a thread and one member was considering fabricating a "poor man's LSD'' but the project never got off the ground. It was explained in the same thread that a joint in Melbourne (Oakleigh or Dandenong from memory) would make up a conversion for about $250. It would lock up when need be, but also act as an open-wheeler and keep the cops happy when need be (unlike a welded one). Otherwise i have heard that the american KP starlets came with an LSD centre that would fit, but at $880 american to import, i am not to keen. At that price i would be wanting something a bit stronger. I have searched the forum, but cannot find the thread or more info. If anyone knows of the place or a good option, your help is much appreciated. :hmm: If possible i do want to avoid changing to another rear end (especially of the weight of a hilux one) Cheers, Dougal
  18. Cheers guys, probably wont be starting for a little while yet (unfortunately year 12 comes first) :hmm: Scott, when you got it painted what was the colour name/code ? (I will need to source some paint that will match for when i do the touch up.) Will keep you all posted.
  19. Actually, it seems like he brought it back to life..... have another look at the before shots ! Anyway, his car = his choice. Well done charl for doing something different, looks like it will come up quite well  Good to see you saved it from the crusher :jamie:
  20. Cheers guys, will definately be up for a cruise when i get it all put together. :)
  21. Hey guys, Well I have finally got one! After about a year and a half of searching and saving on maccas pay I have got myself a KE20 :) It turns out a few of you may even recognise this one as well, as it has been around here for a while. I purchased it off Sim in the last week or so, but I also believe it was owned by Scott (PMP 020) and a bloke called Glenn (also from here). It is pretty tidy apart from; >Rust in the front 1/4s, spare wheel well, and behind the bumpers and around the bootlid. >Rear interior is good, but the front seats are torn, and the dash is cracked. Mechanically it all seems pretty good, engine runs fine and gearbox etc is good. The odometer says about 93,000 miles but I am unsure if it is on it's second time round, but I think it is only 90 not 190. I am planning to get her on the road again for my Ps in early august as a granny style sleeper with a warm 5k closer to xmas. Then in the long term I might turn the 5k to turbo and dress her up more like the TOSCO style race era (once off my Ps). For the moment it will be a general tidy up (most of which is happening these holidays) with; >Rust fix and touchup on the paint >Interior retrim or some lambswool seat covers >Nice set of wheels with hubbies and whitewalls >Drop her down a little >Fresh paint on grill + surrounds >Replace/repair badges Here are a few pics of when I brought her home, will keep you guys updated as much as I can. Cheers, Dougal Arriving behind the Transit
  22. Great project, will be watching this one closely :D
  23. Very well done :D Would be interested to see some power figures when you get them. My uncle has been trying to convince me that this would be a good idea for a while now, interested to hear more about the process.
  24. Cool, thanks.
  25. Has improved greatly, good tidy up job on the interior :D
