  1. Looking good, I eventually want a set of hotwires like those on my car. Great look from the front. Good stuff :(
  2. FAQ how to Might be a better choice.
  3. Nice pickup, Pete certainly knows his stuff so you went to the right place. Have you considered a 5k at all ? He drops 5ks into rollas fairly regularly as far as i know, so could also help you out in that respect as well.
  4. Agreed, the laws unfairly punish those who have done nothing wrong. (yet :( Unfortunately we get the rough end of the stick because of blokes who do stupid shit on the street (racing commodores etc). The new laws will mean guys like us wanting to do a few mods to our cars will be breaking the law and looking at the possibility of fines. This does not seem right to me. That said, some engine/car choices are not that sensible for young blokes like us learning to drive. (regardless of whether they are legal on not)
  5. Keep at it mate, you will regret getting rid of it. (if you do)
  6. Well said. Hilton, doing a bit of reading might not be a bad thing. (you might learn a bit that way) There is some valuable info available on this forum, and guys who have 'been there done that' who could be of great use to you. It's all good and well having a street weapon, but if you don't have the skills to safely drive it, you will end up as another statistic.
  7. Nice job, and a 4 door to ! :( Keen to see some more pics.
  8. Good stuff ! Is this your car JP ?
  9. It all depends on what state you are in. The new laws in vic state similar things to what winke has said, though they also state ''no performance modifications". I believe they will use this clause to try and bing people as they wish. If you keep sensible you should not have to much trouble with your local cops. It is probably sensible to not go all out so soon, irokin is right in saying you should just dream about something big for the moment. You are probably best to wait untill you are off you ps and have no restrictions before you buy something really nice/fast. You will also have a better idea about driving and car control by then (no offence intended). Best to learn the ropes in something cheap and not so quick to start with. Maybe a mild 4k in a KE70/55/35 or the like ? From what i hear you can have a heap of fun in one of these, but stay at safer speeds.
  10. don't mind where to, but probably will not be able to make it if its on the 3rd of august. (Monash open day)
  11. Totally agree ! :lolcry: Looking forward to more pics gav.
  12. Put up some pics, and get driving ! :lolcry:
  13. People have run 40s before, I think a 45 is a bit big. (Unless you are needing to supply a great deal more fuel than most 4ks require.)
  14. I agree with Gspec, bring it back to bare metal and then you will know what you are dealing with. From there you can cut and weld in sections and or bog/fiberglass. Falken, if you can cut the same section out of a donor car you can then weld it in and work with that.
  15. Year 12 student, part time job at at maccas. Hopefully will end up being an engineer in the car industry. By the way, loved your audition vid Sheqel.
  16. Front gaurd is off and I will be taking it to a paint shop tomorrow to get a colour match done. Hopefully will get it soda blasted this weekend.
  17. Precisely :lolcry: I have had a bit of fun in my uncles 76 honda civic paddock bomb (FWD) but that was mostly due to the handbreak....... It is certainly a different driving style but I think RWD/AWD beats the hell out of it. FWD is fine for the average motorist wanting to get from a to b, but not for a car enthusiast.
  18. Great project mate and great work ! Good to see such dedication, stick at it. :lolcry:
  19. Yep thats right. My dads mate works at ford and was raving about these when they first came out. I have heard saab have a similar alliance with holden. I would buy one, but am put off by the same thing as winke...............its a FWD.
  20. Cheers JP, will certainly be up for a meet when I can. Sorry but I have changed the sig (parts for the car are more important at the moment).
  21. Cheers Scott, that was what I was starting to think towards the end of today. (After looking through the papers again and having another look at the paint.) Anyone got a Ke20 bootlid that would suit ? Thanks,
  22. Great news charl, looking forward to more updates !
  23. This is definately true. The repair work that has been done to my car before I owned it, by a "crash repairer" is of a very low standard. From what I can read from the receipt left in the glove box, the area that was "fixed" is already rusty about 12 months later.
  24. Thanks, good point lol ! For the current project I think I will be sticking with the same housing and so a Tayell diff. But when the time comes for a motor with a bit more power I think a hilux diff is what I will run.
  25. Things now make sense :) According to glenn87s previous sales thread the car was originally baby blue. That explains the blue bits coming through in some areas. Peak white may be the one afterall !
