  1. A number of people have got the head shaved and it makes a great difference whilst being fairly cheap. Not much needs to be taken off, I think about 20thou or so.
  2. Sweet as, might head down at some stage then.
  3. Will be interested in a white one when they are available again.
  4. Cool as. Acrylic aint that bad, I am using the same myself in the next few weeks. Gotta love holidays :P
  5. Nice. Are you gonna let us know the colour ? or still leaving us in the dark ?
  6. Exactly. From what I understand a good paint job is all in the prep work. Keep at it :P
  7. Nice, will look good when on the car. :P What are you planning to do on the car in the next little while ?
  8. I also like those rims you have shown godlovesugly. I know them as imitations of the ''bathurst globes'' which came on the GT falcons.
  9. Lol, my drivers door does that. It makes a hell of a creak when I try to close it as well. (although I think that is the bottom of the door jamming not the hinge)
  10. Yeah, if I don't end up sending it to get blasted I will just wire brush it.
  11. Nice, not a bad price at all. Should be plenty to do those bits, and have a bit left for later. :P
  12. How many liters ?
  13. Nice :P As people have said, start simple and probably stick with a k motor.
  14. Good stuff, will be getting stuck into the bodywork on mine soon as well. Great price :P
  15. Have also heard this. But, have also been informed by Peter Robinson (Ke rolla mechanic and sales) that a 5k is a legal conversion. I think this is because it is the same engine series (similar to holden 6s I think). Although if this is so, it breaks your above said rules :P Not sure.
  16. Sweet, good to hear this might go somewhere :P If not, I am just gonna pay for a Tayell conversion.
  17. Clean them all up and trial fit them. Then stand back and see what you think. I am thinking the current ones at the moment, but would need to see them on the car and compared to the others.
  18. Thanks Tom, will check that up. A mate suggested mediablasting over sandblasting because he said the metal will be easyer to work with afterwards, and it is not as harsh. He also said the soda would be a waste of $ for this, and would not really do the job either.
  19. In my opinion those jellybean mags look fine. Otherwise the challengers shown or hotwires in a similar size.
  20. I was guessing it would be either that or the torque converter. (Assuming that a torque converter should engage the gears lower in a 5k, because of the differing revs) Why are you selling it, such a great car !
  21. Quite tidy mate, especially the engine bay. Good find :(
  22. Exactly. Start with a 3k/4k/5k, cheap easy mods and cops wont realise the difference (as long as your not to wild). For the head swap to actually work a number of things need to line up, as has been said. (valves, water jackets, studs etc) Just have a look at the faq etc and start with something easyer.
  23. Link should be included in emoticons, so people can easly inform others in posts. :( Nice taz.
  24. Not sure, as the place I was gonna go to have now become a recycling company ! I am gonna make do with the current bootlid, I will just be sending it off with the 1/4 to get beadblasted. Anyone know of a good place in the eastern suburbs of melbourne ?
  25. Hey guys, I want to get my bootlid and front left 1/4 beadblasted pretty soon. I was gonna go to a place called Vision blasting on the recomendation of a mate, but have found that they have given up the game and now just do recycling. They were in the knox area. Anyone know of an alternative joint in the same kinda area who are good ? Cheers, Dougal
