  1. They cleaned up quite well, can't help you with what they are though. Welcome to rollaclub. ;)
  2. Sweet as, will look really tough with 8'' rubber ! ;)
  3. Click The new laws suck for people like me with birthdays after the July 1 cutoff. There will be a passenger limit and a ''blanket ban'' on all performance mods as well as more limitations on the cars we can drive. As bad as they are for me, I can see why they have done it (remember the commodore that crashed on the westgate at 160kph etc, etc) Thankfully most cops don't know what a k motor looks like, let alone are able to tell the difference between a 3k and a 5k. ;)
  4. Looks like you have got yourself some useful goodies there ;) Let us know when she is together and hitting the strip, will be keen to see this beast fly ;)
  5. Welcome ;) Wow, and I thought some of our laws were strict ! Next time I want to complain about our laws, I will think about yours.
  6. God damn it !!!!!!!! 2 nice cars gone like that ;) Sorry to say I have never seen a KE18 in the flesh, but i sure hope to some day. I feel for you both.
  7. Sweet car mate, you have continued millers work very nicely. Great engine choice ;) Glad to hear you have sorted the diff, and keep at it ;)
  8. I managed to get a little more done today starting with ; Finishing the stripping back and rust converting of the bootlid area and then spraying a light coat of etch primer. The current light coat of primer is a temporary measure to attempt to reduce rusting untill the repairs are properly done at my mates place next weekend. I also delivered the front gaurd and bootlid to ''Alliance Industries'' to get garnit blasted, hopefully this will be finished by mid next week. Both of these have rust problems and will require some work when they return. The below picture is to attempt to show the crows feet across the bootlid. When I purchased the car I noticed the previous paint job was not great quality, and it has become more apparent over the past few months. I began to strip back the front apron and it is now coated in rust converter (the photos are prior to this). Hopefully I will be able to deliver the front seats to the upholsterer's next week so they are ready in the next month or so. (Gotta love birthday presents from parents ;) ) The back of the seats are quite good, but the fronts show their age a little more.
  9. That makes sense. Good to be motivated, I know I would'nt be if it were'nt for some of my mates !
  10. What happened to ''i'm more the sorta guy who gets it going and that's good enough. maybe give it a quick clean with degreaser, but hell, if it takes longer than 2 mins and won't help the car drive, it's not worth it IMHO.'' ? So if it is being painted........what colour ? BTW grille looks good. Out of interest, why the high temp paint ?
  11. Hell yeah, someone do it ! I know it has been done to a few other little cars, as the starlet pics show. But have not heard of one in a rolla (man it would be fun ;) ) Surely this thread can turn out like this..........CLICK
  12. Cheers johno, will keep that in mind. They stressed the importance of keeping the panels warm.
  13. A small heater in your shed, although you should not run it whilst painting as it will raise the dust. I was warned about this when I bought paints recently, for exactly the reasons johno has stated. The paint shop suggested the use of general purpose thinners as opposed to 'fast' thinners as well as keeping your shed + panels warm.
  14. Tighe cams would be the place for cams, we even hear of their rep down here in melbourne. TIGHE CAMS
  15. Totally agree, milo can = FAIL ! John, out of interest were they a good place to deal with ? Because I need to find a good exhaust place for when I get around to doing my engine. Cheers
  16. A bit of an update. I collected the paint and a few other bits yesterday, and am happy to say that Eastern Auto Paints were very helpful and sold it all to me at trade price. :D Unfortunately Mum would not let me use the carport and so I was instructed to use an old tent of ours in the backyard. (so I set this up last friday) Thankfully Dad came to the rescue and bought me a big tarp to use as well as the car cover I have. So I ended up with this, Today I started to work at the spare wheel well, with the help of ; my younger brother, some paint stripper, the angle grinder and some rust converter. Before After attack and before rust converter. It still needs a bit more work, which I will hopefully do tomorrow allong with the front apron and a few other things. I have managed to get in touch with a place called alliance blasting, and they will probably garnit blast my front gaurd and bootlid by early next week.
  17. I see, that make sense :D
  18. Fair enough, good to be practical.
  19. I think that this combo will infact give lower compression, and is why it is used by some for forced induction setups. Also, I think taz was observing that the ports on your 4k look bigger than the standard ones. Will be keen to see this car out and about :D
  20. I also admire this about your car, top shelf effort :D
  21. I also noticed that in those pics, and had wondered if you had done a paint job without telling us ! Will also be keen to see how you go with the cluster. When are you heading to vicroads ?
  22. Thats the ticket, good stuff :P
  23. Sweet as, keen to see some pics as it develops further. :P
  24. I agree. Something bright thats a TE27 colour will really set it off, and look the part.
  25. Have you been guide coating and sanding to find the high/low spots ?
