  1. sounds interesting
  2. A. Racist! B. My 4K-C does at the moment and I think that's cool C. Actually, apparently if u run valve springs properly matched to the camshaft it will eliminate most rocker failures at high RPM.
  3. CA18DET is more disposable cheap, if you're doing this on a budget and want SR20 but are poor I say look into the CA18DET... it cops a lot of flak but its still bang for buck and with the money saved not buying SR20 you can do a fair bit to it.... But then again SR20DET is just better to start with.
  4. For anyone in Brisbane, there is a car bookshop in Bowen Hills, its on a corner, has a picture of a Datsun 260Z on the sign I believe. Has pretty much goddamn everything u could want in terms of car literature. Will post again when I find out the actual Address and name.
  5. u can put a 3K head on it. Ups the compression ratio.
  6. i don't think they were bad enough to make people buy mercedes
  7. pmsl classic
  8. This has nothing to do with corollas, but I can't find any website or person who comes up with any reason apart from them being cool or being needed to carry shit in the back. Why buy a ute? I know its an Aussie thing *cough cough BOGAN cough* but surely there is some reason. Anyone know? MalOO00oooo...
  9. They are probably a good 1/50th of the price of them, and they would look tough! The B45 wheel does look tough. By joves man $4K on the paint, make sure you have money left over for a digital camera so we can ogle this thing!
  10. Well the replicas don't look QUITE as good as the momo's, but just have a think about whether its worth not compromising and getting something that looks basically the same, i reckon if its not a show car or something then don't bother forking out for momo's. Its not like you are going to have the momo's sitting there next to the vegas when the vegas are on the car, so you won't notice a difference. Don't get those chrome.. things. They are soulless. Also since its an older car... consider even getting something old school like jellybeans or anything with dish, they're cheaper and I really think they suit the style of car better. Just a thought
  11. Nivas are fully sick http://tuning.msk.ru/foto/niva/niva-1.jpg lol 13B is WIN in a corolla for quick quarters. I've had a little rant before about the ke20 + 13B equation. Its just pure power to weight bliss. KE70 i don't see why not... I mean its a bit heavier... but if thats what you want to do quarters in, whatever. Its probably a better starting point for drift (what you want) anyway given that a KE70/AE71 is a lot like an AE86 in terms of its chassis. But then again who ever heard of an AE86 drifting? SR20DET is just good ROTARIES ARE NOT UNRELIABLE this is a myth that started circulating due to much earlier rotaries when the engine was still in its teething phase. They are well designed good engines now. Newer 13B engines out of newer mazdas have just gotten better and better. I havn't heard anyone badmouth a rotary with any solid evidence and I would be welcome to any well reasoned enlightenment.
  12. Wow very nice. $900 ??!! Good find
  13. mad... I don't know that much about pushrod engines but I thought that was impossible...
  14. Yeah expensive ones still muffle, not usually as well as a stocker! A completely absent muffler would make an extremely loud and illegal car. I would be interested to what design goes into expensive mufflers, whether it be for best flow possible or mainly making a nice noise. Interesting stuff though, 3kw is a difference! yes I agree any restriction loss whatsoever would have to be a positive one, but the tip is not the place to mod cars for power, 3kw is not much. If you were doing a full exhaust I guess having a good tip would be appropriate, every bit counts...
  15. Don't just put a big muffler on a car dude, whatever you do. Drill holes in your muffler or something it will make it even louder. Hehe kidding.. I mean each to their own, some cars do look fairly sweet with a cannon, but in terms of power I doubt you would get much if any power difference with a fart cannon. And as someone else said, its probably not the right style car to have a cannon, but its up to you
  16. I believe cannons don't really do anything, except make an economy car sound loud. There would be the smallest amount of restriction eliminated by changing the stock tip. Its the difference between wearing lycra biking pants or jeans in order to get the most flow out of your ass when you fart. In that, fart cannons are like lycra biking pants. They probably let the air flow out of your ass better but I mean is it worth looking that gay? Man just fart! Its extractors and that sort of thing you want if you're doing exhuast mods for power, and not just to sound or look cool. Do a full exhaust makeover for a nice power gain, as opposed to worrying about the tip on the end of the exhaust. Thats all the muffler is. It muffles sound. Expensive ones muffle the sound less effieciently....
  17. omfg... thats incredible
  18. what a gigantic thread
  19. Probably a simple answer to this one... How do you rotate an engine that's not complete? i.e. to bring pistons to TDC and that sort of thing. My 3K has no head. Cheers guys :D
  20. Yeah forged pistons sounds a bit insane on a slightly worked 4K can you confirm that?..
  21. This probably sounds completely n00b.. but do u mean the screws on the rocker arm that contact the pushrods, that can be screwed in and out? Meaning my 4KC has solid lifters?!
  22. lol @ drift pussy
  23. mmm 5K + ke20 equates to good things to come I had that idea myself, yet to see what happens.... yeah do it
  24. If it was dead empty you would have conked out as you got to the fuel pump. You never really run completely out of fuel as such, chances are you still had 5 litres left in the tank... as opposed to 80ml, that would have been a pretty good effort though, living on the edge lol They don't make fuel gauges to actually run out of fuel when you get to the empty line I don't reckon, I think there's a bit of leeway for you to actually go below that line. Gregorys manuals are pretty solid material too, i'd like to see the toyota original owners handbook prove it wrong, that would be an interesting surprise! :D
