  1. They had a bead blaster. Still no go. The sidewalls has no flex in them being a 60 series profile.
  2. Ive just entered, who else is coming down to the show and shine?
  3. Thanks for the kind comments guys. Words like that make it worthwhile to build these things! Heres a picture of the new fitment. Went to put tires on today but couldn't get 175/60's to fit as they were too narrow so I need to wait until I can get my hands on some tubes to help put them on.
  4. Heres the results of my actual wheels, went with silver center white band. After sandblast test fitted on car All primer'd: Final result:
  5. Done its going to be Silver center with a white band. Anyone got any suggestions on some silver paint to resemble standard wheels?
  6. Thats what i was thinking, stock silver with a white rim, the rest are a little too showy for this car I'm thinking.
  7. Hey guys got some widened steelies for my ke26 cheap and I'm trying to decide how to paint them. They are not the ones in the Photoshop below but these give an idea of what they could look like. I'm pretty set on a white band the same colour as the body but am undecided on center. Red: Dark blue (this is my interior colour) Silver: Black: Green (haha):
  8. Tint the windows and go do some drive by shootings. Looks pimp as always mate.
  9. Ahh but the high beams are stuck on Nick, and since I've thrown in some H4's people are starting to flash me now that they are not candle powered.
  10. Done a few little things to the Panel lately. - Made up a new cover for the back out of 3mm mdf and covered it with a dark blue vinyl (pretty close to original colour) - New JAF badge in place of the old RAA badge - Few stone chip touchups - New healights with some H4's But most importantly my widened steelies arrived today! Got some Mazda 626 13x7 +6 steelies cheap. They need a sandblast and paint and then i need to hunt down the tires I want! Pictures soon!
  11. I could'nt make it down as there was no diff center in my ke26 at the time. How was it??
  12. Hey guys Ive got a problem in my KE26. Its been like it since i purchased the car. I have no low beam. When the indicator stalk is in low beam the high beam is stuck on, and when i flick it to high beam the blue light indicator flicks on and turns right off while the high beam lights remain. All fuses are good and I've replaced the original headlights with H4's. Any ideas?
  13. Hey guys up for grabs is my 72 Squareback. I purchased the car for $900 with the motor piston slapping very badly (un-driveable). I have since stripped the motor back to crankcase and replaced a cracked piston and barrel. All new gaskets and seals have been replaced from the crankcase so it doesn’t leak any oil, somewhat of a miracle for a VW motor. The motor itself now runs fantastic, doesn’t blow any smoke and ticks over beautifully. After I had put the motor back in the car I have discovered the oil pump in the trans isn’t working, and therefore the trans has no drive. Easiest option is to replace the whole trans or get it repaired with a new oil pump. Body is quite good for age, has had a respray at some point and paint work is respectable defiantly. There is some filler in the driver’s door and in the rear passenger guard, a scratch dent in the drivers rear guard but apart from the body is pretty straight. Rust wise there is a little bit above the rear window along the side of the hatch which is pretty common for squares. Bumpers, indicators and lights are all good condition. Standard wheels look great and have good caps. Interior and trim is quite clean and tidy, driver’s seat has a couple tears, rear seat is perfect and the carpet has been replaced at some point. Dash is a little cracked as always, gauges look great. Has been lowered all round (at a guess 2-3 splines front and 1 spline rear) Engine and trans is currently removed (that’s why the back is so high) and can be put back in the car if the new buyer wishes. Overall a pretty damn tidy square that simply needs a new trans and away you go! It has CURRENT rego up until mid-may. Asking $1100 Call or txt Troy on 0431 290 861 Located in Penfield Gardens 5121 South Australia. If it doesn’t sell shortly it will be put on ebay.
  14. Saw this in the flesh today. Very very clean. Will make such a great crusier.
  15. I'm with shannons for my ke26. $5000 agreed value full comp which costs me $300 a year. I just hit 25.

It was for sale the same time as my old KE20. Ages ago. She doesn't come on here anymore I think.

Just saw Kim (does she still own it?) in the beautiful KE25 on South Road at 12:30.
  18. Turns out it was just a crappy filter! Bloody easy fix, it was time for a full service and clean out anyway. Just need to get her tuned now.
  19. haha I'm playing punch buggy with my girlfriend now. Good times.
  20. Both left lights have had water in them previously. The paint on the passenger side seems to be better so maybe the other way round? Yup this is the superbug, the most unpopular beetle as they are the biggest.
  21. Hey guys got a bit of a wires issue with my Panel. The 3k takes a long time to build any oil pressure on start up. I'm talking like 5-10 seconds which seems far far too long. Once it's built the pressure it seems fine. I've got around it right now by putting a switch onto the coil that allows me to turn over the car without ignition, but it takes seriously 20-30 seconds of cranking to get the oil light to turn out! Anyone had this before? Oil pump is in the sump right? Which means engine out to replace?
  22. I'm pretty sure it's the nature of a 3k? I don't go over 80km/h with my 4.3 ratio diff. At least you can get 90!

Ahh good stuff. Where did you get them from? I used to run 14" red steelies on my 20. They rocked.
