I don't Know if GE have centrifical advance I know they have electronic spark advance. Pictured is a pair of distributer centrifical weights as the rotor spins they fly out turning the rotor button on the shaft advancing spark, If they are assembled wrong they can retard spark as they turn the rotor button the opisite direction. they can also get stuck and don't turn. Under the rotor button there us a felt pad that lubricates the top shaft put some oil on it. Toyota factory Distributor's centrifical weights have two different size springs they must be put a certain way.

Does it have a centrifical advance ? Can you twist the rotor button about 15 degrees?, Does it spring back?

Ke1x Thermo Fan Wires

If you want good starting you need to give full voltage to the coil. it has a certain size wire if you start pulling extra current off that wire the voltage will drop. you may notice less performance or starting problems. the ignition is also on a fuse if something goes wrong with your thermo fan circuit you don't want your ignition cutting out, if it is hooked up to say a horn circuit and it blows a fuse then it really does not matter. -

Yes of corse you need a thermostatic switch, The two power sources are simply so the fan switchs off when the car does. -

Fixed Speed Cameras For Qld

I worked with a guy who road a fast motor cycle he could cover the number plate with his foot wilst riding. he never got speeding fines either. -
I have a KE30 that has been converted to dedicated LPG, the fuel gauge actually works back-wards, most LPG tanks use std VDO senders, if you are going for a after market sender you might want to be aware of this.

Fixed Speed Cameras For Qld

Garry Leonard Muzyka, 46, had installed a lever next to his petrol tank. When he operated the mechanism it tilted his number plates 90 degrees, thus making it unreadable by cameras or traffic behind him. Muzyka was eventually pursued and taken to court where he was fined nearly $1700. -

I have seen all sorts of devises to hide number plate numbers now the fine for this is worth more than a camera fine. I also hate making older cars replace faded number plates for a great cost, the government sold plates that fade in the first place, why should i need to pay for replacement of an inferior product. -
Ke1x Thermo Fan Wires
KE30_KE35_KE55 replied to camerondownunder88's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
I would run a relay to power the fan straight from the battery with a in line fuse holder, switch the relay with horn, wiper,or accessory's circuit so if something goes wrong and you blow a fuse you want be stuck without ignition. some ignition systems use a 8v volt coil with either a ballist resistor or high resistance wire in the loom. The AMM may give a 12 volt boost to the coil whilst cranking, some starters also have a pin that can be used to boost the coil whilst cranking. in any event I would not take power from the coil, I have seen some LPG installers do it and they run their solenoids off 8 volt. -

When demand is high and a few people bid high on ebay- everyone who has one for sale wants the highest selling price. If to many people start listing the same item the price will drop. A pair of rusty HQ holden front seat belts just sold for $365, not many wreckers still have 1970's cars. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/HOLDEN-HQ-Z-MONARO-...1QQcmdZViewItem -
Yes thats what I did with the running board, With the rear quarter bottom pictured above i would use the recess on the top bend the 20mm around into the wheel arch curve the bottom then 2 sharp bends in a folder and overlap like a door skin. then at the bottom and weld at the back so it looks as the original panel.
-
I have a big old 3 Phase MIG with a choke fitted it gives a lot more control than modern machines. The hard part is making the patch anyone can weld and grind ect. I use a combination of sheet metal tools like a jenny wheel pictured to recess patches so they fit behind but flush at the front. spot weld and check 10 times before the final weld. Butt welding is harder I used a replacement panel to repair my radiator surround pictured. PM me if you want to see some more of My body building pictures.

Lots Of Swearing - Toyota
KE30_KE35_KE55 replied to SoulSearcher's topic in Rollaclub Social (Off-Topic)
I have just had a similar thing with my car diff rebuilt at 30000 km i week out of warranty. Consumer Affairs state that a repair should have a reasonable life, they told me that if it fails within another 3 years they will take it on. consumer affairs should force Toyota to repair it for free. -
Stock Ke70 Battery Good Enough For 4age Conv. ??
KE30_KE35_KE55 replied to toyke70's topic in Car Electrical
Extra battery capacity is recommended if your vehicle has a lot of electrical accessories such as air conditioning, power windows, seats, electric rear defogger, etc. Manufacturers will recommend a larger battery for vehicles with lots of accessories. CCA would be about the same on any 4 cylinder. For any "regular" lead-acid battery with a CCA rating, just divide that CCA number by 20 and you'll have it's true Ah capacity. -
I don't think the ke30 would look that bad. the lancer would still break your number plate holder and it may scratch the bonnet as the lancer wraps around it.
-
Thats great I wonder what the front would look like after a good slam by a KE30. :lolcry:

Stock Ke70 Battery Good Enough For 4age Conv. ??
KE30_KE35_KE55 replied to toyke70's topic in Car Electrical
battery CCA usually relates More to Accessory's fitted to the vehicle eg Air cond, headlamps, demisters, sound systems ect more than it relates to cranking power needed to start. when fitting a 4age the only main extra requirement is a ecu and electric fuel pump your current battery should be OK.
