  5. Lubrication is important, it is important you understand the distributer components and what they are for if you are going to rebuild them. 1 pic a felt pad on an electronic ignition. commonly called a grease stop used to lubricate. You will find it in any Toyota / Gregory's service manual. 2 the thread system you refer to is a thread on the shaft also used to lubricate the shaft not set the top shaft direction. I have been told 4AGE do have a fixed shaft. but certainly most electronic dizzys should be lubricated especially after after a rebuild.
  6. Doing something stupid lost Me the top job as well (Work choices)

  13. aluminum can have all sorts of additives, Beryllium to make it strong/ hard or silicon to make it cast smoother or even magnesium. It is best welded with a tig welder, some aluminum has high content of additives makes it hard to weld.
  14. I don't Know what your budget is but Have you investigated new rear quarter panels & a tail light panel. It would make a easy job.
  15. Thats repairable step 1 is to look around for some old dented up panels bonnets, doors ect get some of these, http://www.toolbarn.com/product/bosch/2610917944/ mark out some neat squares and triangles on the old panels then practice cutting out the shapes neatly. step 2 will be to fabricate a few patch's for the holes you have cut out. you need to find some 0.8mm steel sheet to practice making patch's. find a sheet metal fabricator they will sell offcuts for beer money.
  16. Fish, Pencel, Ronnald Mcdonnald, well its a start.
  17. Ok, since everyone has been doing (follow the leader) type threads of late. Here's my contribution to lost productivity: Your task is to post a photo which has some connection to the previous photo. (eg. A photo of a boat may be followed by a photo of a fishing rod).

  23. I would let some one independent look at it first like RAA or definitely not the same dealership if its out of warranty. then hit them thru consumer affairs to fix it. the law states any repair must have a reasonable life. a few weeks is hardly a reasonable life.
