    you could fit a Bosch to a 3k if you wanted to.

    Most likely it would be off a ke55 or ke 70 . AE corollas also ran Bosch but used a multi rib belt . just use the alternator bracket off a Australian 4k the wiring is the easy part.

    Yes it has a key way on the crankshaft and the pulley is fastened by a bolt in the end of the crankshaft.

    I scout secondhand book shops swap meets ebay for genuine Toyota manuals, they are usually well worth the hunt.

    This car is going to be so good when finished. Ke 30 & 55 had so many extra holes every where in the engine bay, they covered them with silver tape cut into 20mm squares from new.

    With a pit or a hoist this is a easy job, to save a mess don't forget undo the three bolts on the flywheel then push the converter back-wards till it locks in.

    can you hear a vacuum leak when idling?

    I had a similar problem once with a electronic distributer I fitted a condenser to the negative side of the coil and it fixed the problem.

    do you have access to a hoist, it will make repair a lot easier.

    I have a ke 30 with under-dash aircond I think ke55 was the first ducted Factory air cond.

    cosmetic body changes mainly a dash upgrade, Air cond as an option, Australian content import tax laws saw a lot of Australian parts used, Borg-warner diffs, Bosch alternators and holden trimatic auto's
