    I tried lead wiping the acids and flux's used can for a lot of damage if you don't clean well. lead is also not good for you. With the MIG welder have you considered disposable one litre argoshield gas cylinders . The disposable cylinders cost around $35.50 each no rental.

    Tonight I got another coat on the walls floor and painted the tailgate.

    yes I'm into overtime just need to fabricate ramps and wire up now so i should have it finished over the weekend.

    I put a few hours in after work finished off the back tailgate, fabricated a hinged number plate holder

    put a teas spoon full of automatic transmission fluid down there it has a capillary action and will coat the inside of the panel & prevent rust.a few days later fill the hole with sikaflex.

    compression is escaping somewhere probably past the rings.

    It is because the hub boss the rim sits on is slightly tapered 3mm means its loose.

    I am not having much luck with this paint. it is rubbish IMO. even the plain steel tailgate has more gloss.

    It is Glasurit 2 pac I bought this to paint a car with but I'm not impressed with the product its only just good enough for a trailer.

    maybe adjusting the catch down a bit will make the boot shut tighter on the seal.

    the oils today are far better quality than anything they had when these cars were new. for usability you can't beat a synthetic or part synthetic. for a weekend cruiser I would use Std fleet oil. But that is also just my opinion.
