  1. well, what fits in there with minor modification? sureley toyota werent THAT fussy designing a new mounting for every single model of car they made.
  2. i WANT that green thing :P
  3. what other seats can i bolt into my ke70? i mean, some lower bucket seats. any from other toyota's that are a direct bolt in?
  4. who has completed this engine conversion, and what was the approx total cost of the overall swap? i'm interested...
  5. chist! where can i get my hands on that front spoiler, and that rear bumper? direct bolt up?
  6. yes, they are what i need, but wait untill i show u a pic of the spider grill i was looking at. may not stop small objects poking at the subwoofer, but sure as hell will stop large ones, and looks fkn awesome.
  7. too late. the sub is held down with steel strapping and tekscrews. and i'm looking into a sub grill, like a spider shaped one from my local guys. i've found that the boot STILL rattles... :) i think its the welds near the boot latch or something ;) damnit i might need to soundproof the boot with some insulating foam or something. or get some guys to professionally do it. i also need some 4" high range speakers for the front of the car, cos the bass is draining the whole songs out ( i like electronic) note to others: don't watch "pimp my ride" too often, it makes u want to put a playstation 2 and headrest TFT monitors into ur KE70.... :P
  8. pffts, no the seat AND the gf has to stay :P IN THE CAR! :) i want to find a body kit somewhere, i have never seen any ;)
  9. medicine man, a pic of the switch location would be cool. I gave my self a 90V shock last night playing with a neon transformer.. damnit.
  10. Oi! Leave my amp and sub alone. I also have a girlfriend who likes to sit in the passenger seat, so thats gotta stay there. I race downhill mountain biking, so i chuck the bike on the back on a custom bike rack made for sedans :) Only problem is, it hooks under the lip of the bootlid, and i'm worried it will rip the boot lid off completely if i got over a bump too hard. :P i still drive like i don't care tho
  11. ur right, i'm asking too much :) might go the other way, and rip a $h1T load of weight out... :P
  12. yeah, i'm going to try normal unleaded soon. just to experiment. I need some more low end grunt. mid - high 2nd is just perfect atm. What should i tell my mechanic next service? i mean, to get some more grunt out of my little machine? should i ask him to check the timing? or examine the points?
  13. As stupid as it sound, put a mate in the boot, and drive around the block, and get him to find out where the rattles are... if he's correct, buy him a beer. If he's wrong, do a few more laps...faster.
  14. I finally fixed my sub!!!! w00t!! It almost comitted suicide the other night..... It was held in by an occy strap, it turned around and faced the amp, and the cone bashed itself against the sharp corners of the heatsink on the amp... Luckily i noticed the difference in bass, stopped, opened the boot, and fixed it. But now its held in with steel strapping, and the amp is BOLTED to an aluminium crossbrace i made to cover the bracing in the boot. now all i have to do is take some photos, and replace the carpet in my boot. I reckon i'll go for a royal/bright blue thick pile off-cut form my local carpet store. I also need to find a way to hold my first aid kit, and i need a new fire extinguisher, after it was used at new years to umm, put out the remains of a umm, "small" firework...
  15. filled up with PULP this morning :) runs more smoothly, but i think i need some more grunt tho. :P might try some octane booster or something.
  16. yes. let me know when u are here, and we can arrange a meetup or something, i know a few other toyota owners that might come for a cruise :P
  17. i have a pure crossover for the sub, so theres only high frequencies coming from the 5x7's, so theres no double pressure air movement in the low frequency range..... if u know what i mean... i guess ur right... i really do need to find a way to box the 5x7's up. - any ideas how to box them up without major steel parcel shelf mods? they are sunk into the boot, with stealth on the parcel shelf. ie: they are all under the carpet. will take a photos soon. basically. i don't want anyknow looking at my car to know i have over a grand in pioneer gear sitting there in a car that u can unlock with a screwdriver.... ps: are there any adelaide cruises? i'm dying to meet up with some other rolla owners.
  18. i want a blue neon for a boot light. how the hell do i wire an old tamper switch to the boot lid, and where do i wire it all up to? please tell me i don't have to rip the entire carpet out to trace the door pin wiring....??? do i? any ideas would be great
  19. i've siliconed it all up, there are no more gaps... except i have realised something... something bad... there are remains of the cracked tack welds rattling INSIDE, between the boot skin and the bracing... means i have to accelerate fast, get it all to slide to the back, and vacuum it out somehow.. ;) anywho, i need a better way to hold my subwoofer down, because its currently held in with an occy strap (see pictures page - http://www.users.on.net/~whibley/my_car/small/ ) and at one stage... the sub turned around, faced the amp, and ounded itself against it, making dests in the cone, and rubber surround :P i also need a better way to mount the clif design 5x7's in... cos for some reason, toyota never intended speakers to be mounted in the rear parcel shelf without modding the steel shelf.... :) i need to make some MDF spacers or something, i really don't know :( also, 90Volts, 3 amp hurts- stupid neon transformer......
  20. i have an 800W 12" kenwood subwoofer, and a earthquake 300W bridged amp... only problem is, the boot rattles like a f@$king tambourine. now i've tried to silicon up all the cracked tack welds on the bootlid between the skin and the bracing, but theres still some small rattle in there somewhere. has anyone else out there got a subwoofer with the same problems? i need to fix it beforei i go red again at the next set of traffic lights when people larf at my boot. BOOM, tinkle....., BOOM, tinkle.....
  21. hehe, went for a bang around on the dirt tracks near my place tonight. damn, she slides well when u got no back seat, spare tyre, passenger seat, and u have the pressures up in the rear.... anywho, scared myself shitless around a gravel hairpin, because gum trees are more scary at night when ur sliding sideways.... time for some sleep i guess. night
  22. about the tacho dash... u say its a direct plug in? i've never had the dash out before, so i don't want to get half way through it and realise i need some extra parts etc. i can't read analogue clocks anyway, so a tacho would be more usefull.
  23. damnit, all these years, i could have saved money using unleaded. i'm going to fill up on unleaded on sunday night. - and take her for a spin to see if i can pick on any differences.
  24. my car has been running LRP for about 4-7 years now, and its done about 70,000km on the stuff, so i'm worried the converstion might be a lil rough. should i start with premium unleaded and then move to regular unleaded? without additive?
  25. i've been running leaded petrol in my ke70 since our family has had it. obviously, its been running LRP lately. unfortunatelly, LRP will no longer be available soon. i was told by my dad that i will need to run premium unleaded + additive. will i lose / gain power or long term reliability? are there any conversions that i can do to get more power / convert to plain unleaded? also, as a young kid at a deli would ask, "what can i get for fifty cents?" , i would like to ask.... whats the best performance upgrade i could get for say... $200 to my 4kc? ...(besides taking 100 kilo of crap out the boot)
