hmms. drove home on 3 cylinders and no headlights tonight thanks to a trusty 30Amp alternator.... oh, and a bent a rim, and destroyed half an axle and hub :D
-
cheers! seems i'm ok then, cos it says nothign about tyre width, just track. and i don't need spacers, because the offset is perfect, etc etc etc. now i just need a job so i can get some tyres damnit
-
ok. plain and simple, whats the law on new wheels / tyre sizes in SA? sureley someone must know. stock wheels = 13 x 4.5" - 165(all round)/78's new wheels = 14 x 6.5" - 185(front)205(rear)/60's (works out about the same (i hope)) is this legal in SA?? going to bridgestone 2morra to see if they can test fit the the rims to make sure they are going to clear the guards... don't want to waste my time if i'm going to get defected.
-
ok, an argument has just started with my canadian buddy when u have shiny new bling rims, u put tyres on them therefore u have new wheels so.. wheels = Rims+Tyres correct? or are wheels= rims? cos i said i'm getting new rims, and he's like "oh, so ur getting new wheels" help me settle this.

wonder what that thing weighs.... might be usefull for moving the cars around :D or rolling shell ofa bus, full of friends. wouldnt need a bus licence that way :(
-
so how do i do it that way? i like dodgy  same steps as the welding thing? as i said, the hole is going to be about the size of a 50 cent piece on the boot lip
-
i remember a site somewhere, buggered if i can find it  about all the spots that rust on a ke70, like the fuel cap, the guards, and the boot lip, etc. anyways, i'm about to get myself a new boot lip rubber seal, but i want to fix up the rust patches first, and i dunno how... can i bash the rust out (its held there by paint) and patch the hole with a stratco fibreglass kit? and sand it, paint it, etc? or do i need to do it more professionally, and get some steel in there, and weld it or whatever? the hole will be about the size of a 50 cent piece.. well, both of them... will post pics later tonight so you guys know what i mean. i really wanna fix this one myself, and don't want it to rust any further :D any help would be great.

Wat Wood Fit Into The Front Of A Ke70
rwdrolla replied to old skool rolla's topic in General Mechanical
theres plenty of threads with engine conversions, and if you told us what car, we'd be able to give you some ideas :D -
i think u missed the point.. go to the gallery page, and look at the massive typo..... i was being sarcastic saying we should have new "rollaCUB" stickers ;) but yes, i'll take 3 stickers, one black, one white, and one blue :D *spelling :D *
-
hmms. how much do i steal from a bank to get a rollcage put in?? i mean, i'm a noob when it comes to car part prices, and was just trying to budget for a rollcage in my new build. $500?? $1000? $2000??? more?
-
do we make www.rollacub.com stickers too? ps: i'm being sarcastic. som1 needs to fix the major typo on the gallery page.
-
Are rollcages legal? And are there any other major "anti-extra-safety" restrictions? I know adding new seats and harnesses is not road legal :D I don't see why, they are safer.
-
should i take off my door strips? or leave them there so i don't need to wrap my car in bubblewrap when i park it....??? will it leave a sticky stripe across the panels? same with pinstriping.... whats the best method to remove 20yo pinstriping?
-
yay! my boot is now twice as heavy, 3 times as nice, and 40 times more bling. just gotta hook up those 2 12" blue neons to a switch, and fix her up with some black paint over the rear struts etc, and ta da! will post pics soon, cos i got my cam back tonight
-
i'm re-doing my boot, following ur helpfull tutorial ;) cheers for that hard work u did. mine is having a trapdoor for the spare wheel , and a space set aside for bolting my 12" subwoofer down. ooh, and fire extinguisher, etc. the worst thing in the world is running out of kwikgrip at midnight.. :D i have a 3MM thick rubber sheet on the back of my corflute, for a bit of sound deadening and some extra cushoning, will post a few progress pics if i get my cam back from my sister grrr...
-
drill a hole through the head, like u would if u wanted a split pin, then put some 2-3MM spring wire through it, and twist like a jar of jam.
-
yes, i realised that after i last posted, thats lots of cans of V, did u really drink that much, and thats why ur "BZNOUT" ???? haha
-
ahh, awesome! cool! never thought of drilling a hole and pulling it out that way! :D cheers guys ;)
-
yeah, thats fantastic! Cept how do i get a dent out that i can't get behind the panel, cos its part of the body shell...... sob the lower skirt on a KE70 is the body, its not removable, and now theres a fkn huge dent in there about the size the my sole of my foot, how do i get that out?
-
yeah, i was looking at doing about 50% of the work myself, at least i mean, things like roll cage, and brake upgrades, i'll leave to the pros
-
hmms, but then i'd have to fork out heaps of $$$ on ricey parts here and there, like intercoolers, and thermo fans, and ricey i-dunno-wtf-that-does, that, and i-dunno-wtf-that-does this. etc. (ie: anodised or chromed shiny bits all over the engine bay. :D
-
i'm sick of arseholes at intersections dragging off in thier clubsports, etc, so let me announce the idea of a commonwhore eater. just ideas at this stage, might get serious when some $$ comes in, but i'd love to build a car for thrashing around in. maybe starting with a AE71 sedan, not sure which engine to go for, AGZE or a AGE with turbo. turbo gets a lil tricky, and wont be much of a sleeper with a huge intercooler, and loud BOV. but still. something RWD, with lots of grunt, and a 5 speed to match it. most likely a rollcage, and guttered inside for best weight reduction. who needs comfort and fiddly air con knobs? ;) any ideas where to point me regards to body and engine mods? whats good, cheap, etc. i'm not going to be spending more than $8000 for the whole project, just something thats not a stock rolla, and not quite a rally / drag racer. i could care less about the outside of it, just lots of grunt and wheelspin :D
-
ok, so does anyone know how to remove gouges and cave in dents from the lower skirt on a KE70 body? the doors and guards i can fix, its the fat foot sized dent in my left skirt that i wanna know how to fix up, without using about a kilo of bodyfiller.... or selley's no more gaps, or whatever... ?? please? i want my ke70 back up to awesome body condition. having a go at my rust too :D
