  1. Are you planning on using the GTIR throttle bodies? I can't remember that far back in the thread. If so are you considering taking them up to 48mm?
  2. what can I say but....
  3. Prefer the F type really, otherwise Id go straight to a Winters quickchange for 2 ratios street & strip. There is definitely some serious stuff out there! From the info you state, I reckon you will be getting over 200hp without a sweat. Especially considering I know of a 40+ year old Datsun Fairlady with 8 valve U20 making 243hp at 7500 / 191 ft lb at 5500 using 48mm webers, wet sump, dizzie and all internals are from the same era with no exotic materials. Some interesting data for comparison (All 2 litre engines, 1 and 3 w/ 48mm webers) Nissan L20B - 225hp @ 6500 rpm; 194ft lb @ 5250 rpm (built for torque - rally 1600) Datsun U20 - 243 HP @ 7500 rpm; 191 ft lb @ 5500 rpm (big midrange - Fairlady) Honda F20C - 240 HP @ 8,300 rpm; 153 ft lb @ 7,500 rpm (factory S2000) Your rods and pistons will be lighter and the stroke is superior to the above which should create very fast burn for lean mixtures suited for EFI.
  4. Can I ask if you know of any mob that does the alloy carriers at all? I heard someone does. Also 7000rpm is a great peak rpm I know of Nissan engines making 243hp at 7200rpm, 30 miles to the gallon when driven with zest and only 8 valves heads, wet sumps, steel valves and rods and 82mm stroke. The 2AZ stroke is made for better peak hp at lower rpms and should be a delight to drive with that awesome midrange.
  5. http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Toyota-Genuine-Oil-Filter-90915-YZZD2-X-ref-Z418-/250976461366?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item3a6f5ce236 this is the 90915 YZZD2 but doesnt list the K series in its chart? can be used for a 1991 liteace 5k?
  6. ;) bullet proof they are but noticed using cheap filters the engine oil light takes longer when starting up due to the checkvalve been better on Toyota filters from factory. My old 4kc is still going using factory filters just had HG changed at 420,000 with hone marks still good, good comp and now just over 600,000klms for the old tractor :))
  7. FOund these which are pretty cheap compared to Toyota Parts dealership and reason why they are not as good since they have the same valves and the micron rating is the same or worse? http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/OIL-FILTER-51394-TOYOTA-80-07-CAMRY-COROLLA-QTY-12-/120251950679?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1bff932657 your opinions please?!
  8. ooh la laH!
  9. No more chin spoilers all delivered thank you for the interest
  10. As for "stop reading everything online" ill take that what I'm reading from you is also in the same boat. I spend most of my time at wreckers but liteaces arent common anymore at the usual places I venture. The last one I owned was 11 years ago so its been a while and are bullet proof so never bothered playing with them. The only ones I remember did resemble a w40 at first sight but apart from the different shifting mechanism rear extension housing they seemed different. If it is a W40, I can easily use a w50 to combine the 2.
  11. Warren and Jakes spoilers were picked up last night They have 3 between them and you can ask them how they fit or if they want to re-sell them for 70aud
  12. they are here, te27 and mhmills please send me your number Ill call you to arrange pickup
  13. Its lists online that cargo vehicles using the K motor are L40 gearboxes So that would mean the L50/52 would fit? http://members.iinet.net.au/~stepho/engcodes.htm
  14. Tracking says its landed in sydney and cleared customs so shouldnt be long now as soon as it hits my door will contact peeps
  15. Anyone know if I can use a 5 speed column shift from a Hiace with 18r motor? In the future will upgrade to a 7K and will need the overdrive for FWY use.
  16. Andy sold the 3k yet?

  17. No worries Paul Will update info as it comes in eg. tracking number so buyers can view shipping details online on the fly. Should be by end of next week or start of following when they get their stock which I think silly enough it might come from Germany or Africa. Bloody long detour!
  18. I'm confused with Ti valves having not done any research on them in the durability area. Is the alloy used for Ti, inconel? cause if the right type of inconel is used like on turbine wheels in turbo, it should last a long time and suffer no oxidation like pure Ti or mostly Ti does which is coated in all engine parts made from it. I supposed thermal coated stainless with pocketed undersides would be good too and maybe with smaller diameter stems if not already 7mm? This is an often used practice for less inertia in valves but I'm sure Toyota already has done this?
  19. The 5k is the original 76,000klm engine in my 1991 liteace However I'm about to do a full LPG only conversion using a proper LPG carburettor from a nissan 200B LPG only model. By chance of luck it bolts right up to the K manifold just need to open it up for the larger butterflys. Got quoted 155 for silver (1300 degrees) and 175 (1500 degrees) for black HPC coating for the cast iron twin port outlet manifold. Might as well also get the ARP kit.
  20. Under a liteace or townace it seems the extra heat can cause issues with the headgasket more than rollas, not to mention soften heads. Re-tightening H/bolts every 10,000klms helps but I always think arp head bolts are a good investment if you are keeping the engine for its life. For my low km 5k liteace I'm getting a twin port ex manifold and outlets coated by HPC to help with lowering the temps but might need ARP headbolts also.
  21. so thats a yes to my earlier post :rolls: I can even see durability as a power gain. 4-5hp lost as heat is a fair bit of heat that can soften a good head over time.
  22. Wait I'm not sure its via economy international but Ive ordered a spare one just in case for my other car or will sell either way doesnt bother me as they are cheap. 42usd into my paypal guarantees one if you are interested I will send you my details. regards, D
  23. Ive been told the 4age long bolt in arp match the K series ones but you need 2 sets. Usually ARP can be contacted and they will supply then all the same length but don't know the price or sizes.
  24. 100 for the box?

I'm poor, ugly, unlucky but always keep clean :)
