And I thought it was just me! Mine took about a week to change...

Just spotted really nice ke30, it was Maroon in colour, not a scratch, and it had a vinyl roof! Got me thinking, is the vinyl roof a rare factory option? ie does anyone have one? And did it come out on any other model? I've only ever seen one once before, on a biege corolla.

sammo replied to Trendact's topic in ACT / Canberra
You mean pity you can't make it to the ACT! -
Spotted a ke30 2 door at the shell in dickson yesterday, thought it looked a bit like Geoff's. Looked alright too!....from a distance.... Mind you, its good living in the inner north, i get to see all the oldies driving their corollas that they've had since new! Theres an older lady getting round in a overrated yellow ke55 2 door. Its a pearler!

Thanks guys, will take it on board. Cheers for the pics too

I've noticed a few people out there have put a ke70 center console into ke30s, and i'm just wondering how they went about it. I have a 70 console, and want to put it, and was hoping I could get some instruction, regarding, mounting etc, did people just screw it to the floor, or use a bracket etc. Any help would be great :y: Thanking you

Yep know hat you mean, my clock used to work then stopped, so i fiddled with got it to run....it then gained an hour or two a day, so pulled it out played with it again, worked fine...for about a month, now it works whenever it feels like. It shits me, cause if i have a clock, its gotta work! PS, bought a ke30 instrument cluster from ebay for 5 bucks! was told clock worked, got it home, IT DIDN'T :y: I'll stop now......

Sorry.... Did anyone else see the wrecker in queanbo, that advertised $50 bucks, all you can carry, bring your own tools??? Last weekend, went to check it out, was going to post something up, but had no net :y: Not much there, just a ke70, which gave up its centre consoul, spark plug tubes, and roof light! Pulled some parts for dads xc falcon and fairlane as well. Mostly newer falcs and commos, the odd datsun etc. Check saturdays canberra times, in case he does it again!

Well bugger me! Commodore VB to VP S/Wagon rear shocks are the same as Ke30 rear shocks! Just checked out the Monroe website. Couldn't get a match on the munro shocks tho... :jamie:

Is that fair dinkum? rear commo shocks in a ke30? do you know what model?

Ke20 Automatic - Change To Manual 5 Speed?
sammo replied to Shackas's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
If your anywhere near canberra I'll take the auto box off your hands... -
i'd say so, but i just wanted a new hazard switch cause mine was broken ages ago, snaped off. Anywho, so now i don't no hazard switch...
-
Should be but not, the one i have in the car is a jap spec, and i have 77 ke30 one, which is an aussie spec, even says 'made in Sydney'. As does the 55 item. the wiringdosen't match up, you'd turn the wipers on and parking lights! And the hazard switch is all different too, which is a shame, cause thats what i bought em for!
-
I just thought I'd add, that I read somewhere that by the time the 55 came out, car makers had to make an Australian content quota, so that means you'll find a number of Aussie made components on a 55 that won't be on a 30, and therefore won't fit a 30 and vice versa. E.G i bought a blinker stalk assembly from a 55, and it do'nt fit my 30.

Yeah saw it too! Wasn't sure it was a corona till i saw the front. Did anyone see that it was a column shift auto, even rarer! :jamie:
-
My 76 ke 30, has an all white interior, seats and trim, off white/grey A and C pollar trims, and black carpet. My bro's 79 ke55 is all brown, cloth seat and black A/C trims. Exposed sill. BTW when did they start doing the door trim to the top, i.e non exposed sill?????? :jamie:

I'm all for giving peoples chances, but after 500 leasons! I think some just aren't meant to drive. But also i think alot of it comes down to ATTITUDE. Look at not only the drivers, but who's been teaching them, halve of em just think its a joke.

So sorry i couldn't be there, I wanted to go, but I had to work, and we were cut off the net, so i couldn't send my apologies  Next time :jamie:

Its just when I was there (Jap Parts) about 3 weeks ago, the guy was going on about how Ceaser, the bloke who used to run, hadn't done this and that. They only had two 30s and 55 there, and they were beyond wreacking. Because i can remember going there, and being able to walk thru tons of cars, and pick off what i wanted. By the way, has anyone been to Flynns wreckers in Cooma latly? Last time i went he didn't want to sell anything, turned away good busniss from 5 people, because there was a netball game he wanted to go to! :kiwi:
-
Nothing urgent at the mo, but i needed a window a few weeks back, but got one :) I was just saying there doesn't seem to be any great wreckers out there. But i'll keep that in mind thanks for the number. Although i do need a pair of A pillar trims for the car. Mine are all cracked and broken But i'm not in a rush...
