Well after finding that the spare wheel well was in fact a swimming pool, i cleaned and dryed the thing out, and theres really not that much rust in there. Took the dash out and cleaned about an inch of dust off it! Next step is to remove the seats and carpet, and clean clean clean!

what went wrong?

Well picked this up for the price of a case :) Its very dirty and smelly, but it has potentional. It has minimal rust, and is in desperate need of a cut and polish! And from what i can tell its a dished piston 4k!

Check the fuseable links, Check the charge wire from the alternator. I'd be checking/replacing all the wires and plugs, from and to the alternator, battery, fuse box.

Fixable? You ok? Much damage underneath?

And its a two way road. The day we were there, all the residents had their wheelie bins out. Very strange to drive down con rod, with bins either side of the track!

Is that the bloke in cooma? Sure looks like it, well worth the visit, but don't expect anything at a decent price!

Or you could just not speed around the track! The police arn't going to book you if your not speeding, so if everyone who goes up there just follows the speed limit, there won't be a problem :)

I know this is an old thread, but i'm trying to find info on the head thats in a 'soon to be mine' ke35. I know its had a reco engine at some point, turns out its a 4k, but it has the little ridges under 1 and 4 plugs. So i'll get numbers soon, but what do you think it couild be? Do all dished piston heads have the ridges? BTW the 3k-c in my car has 22 on its head. Just another number to add!

Don't know bout 5ks, but a 3k is 8 degress BTDC, So i would go around 5-6 to start with, and go from there. Depends what fuel your running to. BTW a timing light helps very much!

And the canaster has 3 lines on it, one to the carb, one from the tank, and the other goes straight down as a breather, thru a little hole on the chassis rail

Yes but, if driving with them on, and it ISN'T foggy, then yes its an offence. I think you'll find you can drive with them on if its foggy, smokey etc etc, read bad visability. I very much doubt the 'I was preventing an accident' excuse will stand up in court!

Are they driving lights or fog lights? Not sure of the law in other states, but i'm pretty sure that fog lights must be wired thru the parking light circuit, and driving lights must be thru the high beam circuit. Fog light can be mounted below the headlight level, and driving lights (i think) must not be lower then head light level. Were you driving with them on all the time? To answer you question, no i don't think there illegal, if you were using them right.

Hey is anyone making down to the South coast nationals? I would have but got way too much on. Looks pretty good this year, they're expecting big numbers. And if anyone does go let us know how it was!
