  1. The sprins are resistors for the fan switch. I think the big one is low speed, then med speed, then no resisitor for full speed.
  2. Yep early ke30 (pre 77) will be different from late 30 and 55 looms. Later ones had, as you say internal regs, and things like brake waring lites and intermediate wipers.
  3. Any auto shop should have replacement headlight units. Or you go the full halogen conversion kit, with gives you new semi sealed units (so you can change bulbs) and new globes.
  4. Check your timing and advance sysytems, similar thing happrned to me, and it was the mechanical advance sticking. so i'd be going along fine, then uder a bit of load she'd start "chuggering"! A little bit of lube never hurt anyone!
  5. It pings and chuggs on 98 octane?????? what the?
  6. What do I win, what do i win????
  7. Brite shine wadding! This stuff... Brings chrome and other metal up a treat!
  8. 62/63 Datsun bluebird ute...
  9. Don't know if this has been covered before, but I'm just wondering what everyone thinks of their rolla. What one or two things do you love about it more then anything else, and what do you loath about it? I love the fact that my 32 year old car is morre reliable then some newer cars, and i can fit it in the smallest of car parks, without power steering! On the down side, ...well a bit more grunt up hills... but i love it anyway! Discuss
  10. Nissan/Datsun??????
  11. Its weird lookin, is what it is! I'd say something english, or european...maybe, looks kinda old peugeot at the front, but old holden ute at the back...
  12. who gives a Flying f@$k! there is much better things to watch on telly!
  13. Twin carbs!!!!!!
  14. I know NASCAR isn't everybodys cup of tea, but i enjoy it, mainly for the prangs! This is from just yesterday at Talladega. Check THIS OUT, how not to re-enter the race! Wait for all the replays!
  15. Any wrecker should have them, if they're the proper item, they should go straight into the old housing. I bought some Narva H4 conversion lights a few years ago, and it was the best 100 bucks i ever spent!
  16. Spot on mate!
  17. I'm not too sure about the internals of the trimatics, but id say they would be close to the same strength, as the trimatics in geminis. Put it this way, stronger then a toyoglide, but not Indestructible.
  18. I love the irony of a cruise on ANZAC day in Japanese made cars! :y: Nah, good luck to ya, sounds like a great day. :hmm:
  19. Nah mate there not, different lengths, and uni joints. They are really quite different boxes. Toyoglide was made by toyota for toyotas, but the Trimatic was made by Holden and adapted to fit a corolla. happy to help
  20. I'd fix it, and send the bill to the garbo company, and threaten legal action if they don't... worth a try
  21. sender unit sits just under the top hose, just below the thermo housing. remember to flush out the radiator and block. theres a bolty tap thing on the front of the block, its bit hard to get to, but just unscrew it a bit, and stick the garden hose in the thermo hole and flush it out.
  22. Very cool! BTW if you decide to chuck the auto box, i'll take it off ya hands!...
  23. change the thermo and gasket, fill it up with coolant and or water, start it and see if it leaks anywhere, and watch the temp gauge. If theres no water the temp gauge won't work, and it will get bloody hot!
  24. Good luck mate, will be good to watch the progress on this one!
  25. ppffffft, its just run in now! Good luck, sounds interesting
