Quick update, the sanding continues...have taken the rear passenger window out, everything appears to be rust free. Boot will need a bloody good clean. Everything is coming together...slowly... Pics are a couple of weeks old...

I hear ya! Nothing wrong in running at 4000 rpm....cleans it out!

Considering that the 4 speed and the auto both have a 1:1 direct drive top gear, it should be no different on the highway. should turn the same revs, unless you change the diff, and therefore the diff ratio, but wouldn't make that much difference anyway...

I don't know about anyone else, but i think we need some action in these parts... I don't think monthly meetings will work, as hardly anyone turned up to them, but maybe we should get this cruise/meet up orgainised. Ive been meaning to,orgainise something but have been a bit slack. How does everyone feel about a saturday run out to the cotter or cruise round town...nights are getting bit cold...maybe an arvo run... let me know how you feel....and we'll get a date locked in. :yes:

My girlfriends 2003 focus did that every time i opened it. most of the time it did it more often when the tank was near empty. The rolla does it to. I think its normal....

Progress has been pretty slow, but have got both front gaurds off, Repainting inner gaurds with anti rust/chip paint. Started sanding back rest of the car. Pics to come...

That wire runs to the gauge. The sender earths thru the tank. There should be a metal ring that rotates and frees the sender unit, then lift it out!
