Yeah the rear wheels will be making love to the guards when its dropped as i am running 15 inch wheels..so they will be cut out and i just wanted to know if the TE27 flares will be big enough but they will need to be at least 3 inches, Redwarf if you could measure them up and slap up a few piccies for us that would be sweet.. Taz-rx, do you have any links for those 3 inch flares you speak of?? i had a look at http://www.mmsport.com.au/ but can't find any listings.. Styler- where did you source your flares from?? locally or o/s, also what rims/diff you sporting?? Cheers guys..Richie..

Hey poeple.. I'm just wanting to hear from KE25 folk that have TE27 flares on their um KE25.. I'd doubt there would be many.. I am running a T18 diff under the back end and the rims stick out the guards 60mm, 15x8-9 challengers, 195x50. Now I'm in two minds as the fit either TE27 flares or cut up some KE70 guards and weld 'em on.. so basicly what I'm asking is how big are TE27 flares and whats the general concensus of me fitting up ke70 flares?? The only reason I'm not using another diff and cutting it down is because i already have a 2way fitted to the T18 and no I'm not going to get thinner rims.. Cheers..Richie. just for a general idea..

Richie..

haha yeah, she wont be getting driven anytime soon or maybe forever. off to the scrap yard soon unfortunately.. but fear not i will be getting another one someday.. just really sick of all the elevnteens having one.. hopefully they don't find out about ye older corolla's.. this is her two days ago..I'm not ready to let her go yet..been in the same spot for 2 months.. the red shit is rust not paint.. so in conclusion it has been a fun an enjoyable learning curve, so now i know what not to do to the 25.. peace..Richie..

Hey paul.. yeah man send us what ever photos you can get of your hydraulic setup, that would be heaps handy, even tho i've nearly done mine. it should still be helpful.. i agree big shiny pimptastic wheels on old classic toyotas look shithouse imo.. And if you ever want to sell those 13's mk2's give me a yell.. haha, but seriously.. Jono, i don't really like the look of remote boosters and associated extra lines in the engine bay an i don't think there is enough room behind the guard to hide one so thats why I'm running a f/w mounted booster. and as i said I'm going to be running a ke35/50 booster as they are slightly smaller in dia so that will get me out of trouble with the clutch mc and as i also said i will mod the pedal box to suit... are there any carb guru's in Tha house.. what size mains and things would you recommend for a standard (for now) 16v bigport 4age?? the webbers came with 200 correctors. 110 mains, 40 chokes or whatever.. do they sound about right?? cheers.. Richie.

hurrow.. i been lazy, havn't done much to the old girl.. got some carbies.. 45 dcoe's apparently tuned for a 2t so we'll see how these go on a 4age!! and a fire wall mounted booster.. i used an ae71 booster but i think i'll use a ke35 as I'm going to put the clutch m/c where the old brake m/c used to be, so i need a bit of room, in the pic its mounted over as far as it will go, probly 4-5 mill off the strut tower.... also i am now goin to make a new pedal box from scratch as i reckon it will be easier that way.. lucky i have a tig.. also probly silly question..but. would do you get the dam steering column out?? do i leave it connected to the steering box an pull it out that way?? meh i'm over typing.. pics peace out yo!! richie..

a bloke on ae86dc has done this.. he apparently made longer doors.. looks pretty dam good too.. but yeah like you said weld her up, bog her up, bobs your aunty.. i don't really see the point tho. its still a tissue box, but in saying that, ill get another one one day!!
-
yeah its not a bad effort... but i reckon the shape doesnt really suit it.. or the ghey wheels!! this is THE shit......... http://www.toymods.net/forums/showthread.p...ighlight=elanor unfortunatly he hasnt updated it for a while.. head and tail lights are genuine 67 mustang for those that care.. oh yeah its an ra28 silly car
-
I'm pretty sure he has a thread on here, looks like a modified standard bonnet and from memory its a 20v..
-
going by that badge on the side that says 1.6. i would be inclined to say its an ae71.. if the carbys on the drivers side then you picked up the bargain of the century...espically if its a manual.. don't even bother with that motor, 4age just bolts in an can be picked up pretty cheap, your gear box will also bolt up.. wheels. yeah get some 13's, dump it and your away.. richie..
-
if you want cheap 14's go some ma61's, change the look of any car, can be had for 200-300 for a set.. or 15's i say get some challengers, not globes (the ones you were looking at) 15x8 -9... theres many haters out there for challengers but i say bite me.. or if money aint no thang a nice set of mk2's would be porn on any car.. challengers on the back.. and substitute my car with yours.. richie.. edit.. how could you say the ke25 (apart from being pink) and whatever the red thing is doesnt look tough???
-
went to kelly's today.. those poor 20/25 have been raped.. there was a ae71 manual there complete.. was thinkin of taking the gearbox an clutch pedals, but i couldnt be arsed.. especialy when he wanted $330 for the box. i laughed an walked away.. an heaps of xt130 with control arms still there, also going to take them, but i still couldnt be arsed..

Any Heard/or Used A Fuzion Short Throw Shifter ???
hilux05 replied to toycsi's topic in Automotive Discussion
http://www.autoaccessorystore.com/home_n.a...ail&id=2571 can't really help with if it will fit, but i don't see why toyota would change how the shifter worked for us... even tho we get the shit covered end of the stick for most car models that come out overseas.. best bet would be to contact em.. -
don't know about legalities but the stock one takes up valuable real estate as thats where i'd want my hydraulic one, so i'd be trying to mod a hilux under dash hand brake for the fail safe and so that its out of the way..

well i been feelin a little energetic over the holidays and managed to strip most of her down to bare metal, someone went a bit bog crazy down the pass side, tiny dents everywhere and a big one on the boot lid, also cut most of the rust out, will be welding in new bits later.... just got to strip the engine bay of all the brake lines an what not then i'll tackle that don't mind the crud all over it.. anyone done a hydro clutch convo on these puppies want to shed some light.. what i was thinking is to extend the shaft on the highlighted area about 30-40mm, then make it point down so that it pushes instead of pulling,, would that be the correct way to do it?? anyone got any better ideas with pics??
-
any chance someone could chuck up a whole heap of addresses of wreckers around the brissy/ippo/goldie way, for those of us not in the know (ie. me).... and.. anyone seen any ke20/25 kickin around recently in afore mentioned wreckers?? richie..

richie.. ke25 2 door coupe 152 379 6/71 white (soon to be orange) no engine (soon to be 4age) ae71 4 door sedan 9 708 497 ??/84 grey 4age

sweet 20 man, engine bay looks minty fresh.. anymore pics of the car?? as for a carby, go side draughts, twin webbers or the like.. for a nice bit of induction.. richie..

I'm not too phased by the r/p.. and i probly wont go ahead with it, just an idea.. Yeah i know rose joints arent legal, they just feel so much better, but at the moment i just want to get it painted, motor in and drive it.. yep shall be street legal..for the most part anyway.. but she wont see much road action richie.
-
don't worry dougy, at least you got to drive it, i wont know what thats like for ages..... an nissan feeling i don't think ive ever seen a 20/25 driving around here either...so thats good.. ive been busy or bored the last couple of days, stripped me ae71 of all and any parts i thought would be handy, fuel lines, pedal box, column, brake/clutch master, boot release and other random things.. also degreased the bay of the 25 and started to remove the wiring.. next up is to take all the brake lines out cause ill have to redo them after casue ill be using a remote booster.. so anyone who has done this please help.. what have you used/done?? vh40/44?? what master did you use and also did you use a proportioning valve?? because hopefully i'll be using jdm ae86 front struts/brakes, i don't know about the rears yet.. i have a t18 diff so i might look at converting to a 4/5 link rose jointed rear end.. that would be noice.. I'm also thinking rack and pinion, the ae71 x-member wont fit (with out mods of course) about 1-2 inches too long, but just the rack should, only just.. few pics for the hell of it: degreased an nicer to work on off to the metal yard you go!! ill miss you... sort of.. the rims ill be running.. almost twice the width cheers, Richie
-
might be a better idea to go something a little stronger, T's are strong to a point but after a while i reckon youd want more power so id recommend looking for an F series diff at least (out of an mx13 corona, or various taragos) or an r31 or a hilux diff.. even tho none of these will bolt in so mounts will have to be welded on.. how ever do it once, do it right.. i reckon... my 2c anyway.. richie.
-
cheers guys.. with the front end I'm not too sure yet, who knows, it might grow on me.. I'm just not a fan of the square light surrounds.. yeah can't wait to get the 4ag in there, and after a while ill be putting itbs on it for that sound that makes my pants shrink.... just need to make an adapter first. anyone got any drivers side front guards and corner lamp thingies they wanna sell me?? mines a bit munted.. Richie..

hey people.. I'm Richie and for about the last 10 years ive always wanted one of these (well i reeeally want a te27 but you know, that'll never happen) so this being the next best thang, and when it popped up i thought, why not.. cheers to phatke20s it came with no motor, just a rolling shell.. but thats good as i have been dicking around with xe7x corollas for a while now and have a nice 4age waiting to go in, 86 struts, t series rear end, 15x8 rims all round, along with a heap of other stuff to make it work.. i like driving up in the hills so this will be built up for a bit of grip work and might even look into racing in proper hill climbs. so the plans in summary are: strip it back.. fix up the few rust spots.. maybe convert it to a late model front end.. paint it.. I'm thinking a bright orange or maybe british racing green 4age it.. convert it to 114.3 all round.. cage it.. drive it.. honestly i don't know much about these early ones, so youll all have to be patient and bear with me cause i will be asking a lot of questions.. like this one.. if i convert over to my ae86 front struts and use 86 p/s arms.. would it in turn give more lock like it does with rack and pinion steering?? if you have any handy hits on any of my plans, give me a shout cause I'm all ears and want to find out as much as i can.. let me know what ya'll think.. so enough of me talking, here's some pics.. Richie. this isnt bolted down yet lastly my inspiration
