  1. Some more progress on the weekend. Painted up the engine mounts and THIS CLOSE to mounting the motor back in the enginebay, but lack of fasteners… Will post up pics and more progress soon.

  3. The saga continues... Water pump housing is with my fabricator MLT323 getting the rear outlet welded up and cleaned up. Took my aw11 alternator in to Bankstown Auto Electrics to exchange for a reco one and get the t3 pulley fitted. Turns out I need to get the pulley bored out as the shaft on the aw11 alternator is a little thicker than the ae86 one, so machinist will hook that up. Anyone else had experience with aw11 alternators on rwd setups?

  8. New GMB RWD water pump...picked it up for $18!! STILL waiting on toyota for gaskets and seals...apparently tomorrow is D-day :rolleyes:
  9. Good on you Jase! All the hard work has paid off and nobody deserves it more then you...we both know the ride hasn't been smooth ;) And by the way, I'm still waiting for a ride...whenever youre ready buddy ;0 hehe
  10. thanks guys... still a couple more things to do before I'm happy with it, like paint the engine mounts and bracket stuff, put alternator back together, etc.
  11. Not a whole heap going on... timing belt is done waiting for my new RWD water pump & genuine Toyota seals, which should be arriving within the week. never thought a couple of seals would give me such a headache!

  14. Sorry dude I read your post wrong. Sump is new Toyota genuine. Haha Thought I read oil pump..
  15. nah it's my stock one. I took it apart and checked clearances, replaced the seals and put it back on. Also spent a good amount of time cleaning it. haha

  17. All sorted now, oil gear is all back together and sealed up. Gates racing kit is next...pics coming.

  19. Thanks fellas. Anyone got any ideas on torque'ing the oil pump bolts? The manual lists a torque that is lower than my torque wrench can get to...does that mean just use best judgement? or get a smaller torque wrench?

Some nice rust under the batter tray: Home-made rear oil seal retainer gasket (used ACL .4mm gasket paper)...very proud of myself :) New rear main seal in New oil pump crank seal in Big thanks to Shane (YLD-16L) for all the helping info and tips over SMS...you are a very patient and knowledgeable man.

  22. Modified Supercheap puller a'la Paton Performance hehe thanks for the tips Shane mmmm...clean oil pump! Now just waiting on some gaskets/seals etc. from Toyota so I can put it back together....stay tuned.

  24. Hehe just cleaned the oil pump and rear main seal housing, waiting for Toyota gaskets to put them back on te mOtor with the new sump...
