it's all part of the master plan mate, the main thing is having it running and engineered...then i can have some fun... Got the TVIS valleys welded up on saturday, a guy Amien from APE Fabrications did it for me, that guy is a wizard... he's had so much experience, coming from Mick's mETAL cRAFT...he can fabricate basically anything... Highly reccomended!! KEEP ROLLIN! Mark M

haha yeah hopefully brother, on low boost i want to do easy 12's... then i'll take it apart, and do pistons, rings, and copper head gasket, and throw 28 psi at it.... should be good for 400hp atw... what do u reckon? keep the tips coming guys and gals, keeps me keen to finish it... KEEP ROLLIN!

Hey all! Well it turns out that the exhaust manifold i bought off ebay is modelled off a 20v 4age... so apparently have to lengthen the end holes...still worth it for the price, i think.... Does anyone know anything about this, will lengthening the holes make it less structurally stable? basically, will it break...hahaha any input is greatly appreciated guys, any ideas at all, please post them up... KEEP ROLLIN! PS: does anyone know of any Corolla cruises in NSW/Sydney?? I'm keen as to drive my beast while it's still stock... cheers, Mark M

HAHAHA not much power? you think? why do u say that? i highly doubt it though...unless you call 250hp ATW on low boost "not much power"... but you are correct in saying that the gearbox will not be sufficient, the sprinter box will be for street use only, i will be using a Corona 4 speed for the track. any more input, please post up... KEEP ROLLIN!

gday all, another update, I just bought a Turbo manifold for my 4a, it's the one off ebay that i'm sure many have seen... Set me back 300 one dollar coins...shit it looks PHAT!... spoke to a mod whizz, he reckons they are good, he has used them on VL turbo's many times but reccommended bracing as it has alot of weight to support... This one has a t3 flange (bolt on for my gt3076R)...and a 2-bolt wastegate flange to suit Tial or two bolt Turbosmart types..

Mate, i beleive they were custom made in new zealand...maybe someone over there makes them regularly? shipped over here for the guy i bought them off... I got the mounts off this guy for a steal at around 200...coz he didnt need them anymore... I know a guy that can make them up for a reasonable price and top quality work here is SYD... Speak to Matt from Hitech Mods, 0402 366 693... he knows a heap about 4age's in ke20's....i think he owns one atm... cheers rextoy, KEEP ROLLIN!

hahah u rekon? I spoke to some mechanics last night, reckon with that turbo on a manifold, running 15psi with a microtech & exhaust will be good for 270hp ATW... then chuck in a set of new pistons, o-rings top & bottom, copper head gasket, arp head studs up boost to 25psi and head for 450hp ATW! I am aiming for magic 10's...so i'll be close, if not well into them.... KEEP ROLLIN' Mark M

YEAH BABY!! hahaha thanks for the reply brother... Drove a GSR Lancer on the weekend and the Turbo Bug hit me hard.... I'm going with a GT30/76R....with a 0.48a/r turbine housing... keep it spoolin quick... that's about the stupidest you can go without being killed by the LAG DEMON!! cheers, keep rollin...

Sweet ride brother, i like your fuel setup in the boot... Hoping mine will be as clean as this... KEEP ROLLIN!!

UPDATE Hi all, This weekend i went crazy and decided to ditch the SC12 and go straight to TURBO!!! Have already stripped the motor (Manifolds, sc, belts, etc)... Decided that its stupid to spend money twice... So hang on guys, there will be some parts for sale soon enough (SC12, 'cooler, etc) to make way for the turbo... I'm probably going to go for a big t28 BB...on a custom manifold....3 inch all the way through... I CAN'T WAIT!! will post pics soon... KEEP ROLLIN!

Yeah when it's turbo might go mini tubs... For now i'm just going to weld up the stocker...then later on i'll do it properly, probably with a commo one like your mate... I want it to have commodore brakes all round anyway... suspension and brakes are important to me, i already have the whole suspension system on hold with a guy at All Springs Moorebank... and like i sed, commo brakes all round will stop as if it never started...hahaha
-
HAHAH yeah it's all uphill from here, but will be worth it in the end... Yeah "JC807", i'm going to keep it SC for now and just get the ECU done and mount the cooler at the front, fuel system, lock diff and other bits and pieces.. eventually it will be turbo, probably something like the setup in the JEM AE86 Sprinter (Metallic blue one)... I want the car to be running 13's with the SC, but i want to gofor the magic "10" with a turbo... hahaha but for now i want the engine mounted and running, still after a t50 box... thanks for the replies guys...KEEP ROLLIN!!

Hi all! OK, just thought i'd fill you in on the half cut... this thing was a pain in the ass, seeing as i had never done anything like this before it took us 2 days, maybe 7 hours work in total.. I bought the halvie (mr2 aw11 gze) from Ichiban Imports, and it has 95000km... It's the AFM version with lower compression and BIG port... Here's with the engine crane in place, Because we wanted to take the motor/box out all at once, we had to drop it through the bottom... And thats me removing the last few bits and peices so it will slide out without dramas, but as it turns out, the driveshafts were a BITCH to get out... Thats where my mate Adam comes in, now formally known as "driveshaft man"...what a sick bastard! he took out the shafts in a matter of minutes, after much elbow grease... Not his fines moment, i call this photo "Planet of the APES" I really owe him big time tho, he always helps me out with my car and with life in general he's always got my back, And his grandma makes a mean breakfast...It's her garage i'm using for my workshop...THANKS NANNA! What a mess!! This is all the wiring that was in the engine bay... AND THE FINISHED PRODUCT>> The motor is out, gearbox is off, wiring out...and shell ready to go to the TIP! Big thank you to Adam for helpin me out, honestly couldn't have done it without ya....

Thanks for the replies guys!! yeah it's hot aye...relax, I'm not using those rims...hahaha they'r my mate's off his AE92 I'm going to stick with stockers untill i get all the brakes done, then maybe simmons... I'm stuck between fr17's or b45's...it's a tough life...hahaha Does anyone know any good rust places, need some of it done soon as so i can drive it without it gettin worse... cheers, Keep rollin
-
Thanks for the replies guys... yeah it's pretty clean... LOW FANTASIES, and some test rims.... Clean AS interior, some cracks but it'll cop a retrim eventually.... And just a sneak peak of my AW11 Mr2 4agze halvie...sexy ass aye? Coming next: pics of engine removal and some dramas.... KEEP ROLLIN!!

Hi all, My name's Mark and i've been a rollaholic since i first saw a KE20 about 5 years ago...but as time went by i had less and less money and ended up buying a CHARADE... Now i'm out of school, earning decent money AND FINALLY SCORED MY DREAM CAR! This is my KE20 - 1971 model, i bought it off a guy in Parramatta for $1600 with 12 months rego TOTALLY STOCK & BLUESLIPPED from vic...it was in pretty good nick, aside from some minor rust... Next time i'll post up pics of my half cut and motor, a 4agze Mr2 aw11...The big port one with lower compression... keep rollin...

Hi there fellow rollaholics... Just a question if anyone knows wether or not u can put a sr20det in a ke20 and have it registered (engineered)... Also, in australia was there ever a four door ke20? how much did it weigh? Thank fellaz, Keep Rollin....

Hello there fellow rollaz, I have a KE20, looking to purchase a 4agze motor and wanted to know what gearbox would best match up with it... I want to do as little or no modification to the gearbox tunnel as possible.... I want something that can handle decent power and is 5spd... Any help would be appreciated and let me know what i'd have to modify to fit the gearbox of choice... THANKS HEAPS!!!
