  1. I'm not sure about the single pot XT130 brakes, but the twin pot setup we fitted to a mates KE70 requires at least a 14" wheel to clear the calipers.
  2. Thats what I did. I had to modify the dash cluster slighttly (remove some platic with a rotory tool like a dremel) to clear the brackets for the tacho, but it all looks alright.
  3. Hi guys, I joined a while back, but thought it's about time I introduced myself. My names Igor, I have a white KE30 2 door sedan now running a 7K and 5 Speed. I'm from the northern suburbs, anyway heres a pic of the beast.
  4. I think I have this prblem with my K50 box, as when I first got my KE30 on the road it had the same vibrations described in the 1st post. I originally thought it was the Uni's so I changed them over to new units. While being better there is still vibration coming from the drivline :S. Anyone have any idea roughlly how much this would cost to fix?
  5. OK I can help you here as I recently did a 7K conversion in my KE30, so I had to get intimate with the wiring. :S Plug 4 is (surprisingly) what plugs into the fuel solenoid (Plug 2), it feeds it 12VDC with the ignition on. So that clears up those two. The nut on the alternator should be your B+ pole, this should have a thick gauge wire connected to it using a round lug (make sure the insulator ring is present on the B+ pole, the other end should be connected to your positive (+ve) battery terminal. The green plug (plug 1) connects to your starter loom (about 4 wires), It should have a matching green plug it connect with. If not, raid a KE30 at the wreckers for the whole starter loom. I believe it's for the starter coil.
  6. The original 3K that was in my KE30 had the same water outlet!
  7. Same situation with the 7K, I'm still using my complete KE30 exhaust.
  8. I recenttly converted to a 7K in my KE30. The only thing you really have to modify is the sump (has to be cut and shut to clear the cross memeber). I used the stock 3K engine mounts and it fits no worries.
  9. I'd say water pump....it's on it's way out. Had the same issue on a KE70. It didn't have enough flow to keep up with the heat buildup at higher speeds (more load).
  10. Why? I've driven a mates locked KE70 in the wet many times, as long as you drive sensably there is nothing to worry about. It's not as if the car is going to unexpectattly swing out on you, a corolla still needs a fair bit of provocation to get anywhere near oversteer...lol
  11. No, it's white. I'll get pics up soon.
  12. I have a 1977 KE30 2 door Sedan, they're around, but getting thin on the ground. I'll get some pics up soon.
  13. You can get thermo fan relay control kits form Supercheap or Autobarn etc... Most will come with an adjustable temperature switch and relay, you can also add a manual override switch to have the thermos on if you want all the time. As long as your relay trigger feed is leached from the accessories circuit then there are no worries of forgetting the thermo on.
  14. Not sure on the fibreglass stuff (but allot of aftermarket body kits are made of fibregalss), but most Carbon Fibre bonnets are illegal. It's very rare (and expensive) to find an ADR approved carbon fibre bonnet. The reason they aren't legal is that in an event of a crash they don't bent and buckle like normal bonnets, but rather have the tendency to rip off the hinges and slide through the windshield.
