  2. I had a good lol :P Had a stroll into the guys facebook who took at last place http://www.facebook.com/people/Mark-Balchi...5802&v=wall It makes me sad...
  3. This can't be serious...
  4. I went from 7kg to 4.5kg, and it was significant, if you could feel the difference you would not be ignoring the performance.
  5. Why would you want a 1.6L 20v in a brand new car that weighs close to 5 metric f@$k tons?
  6. Its not legal to ride without the sticker haha
  7. I know, I like the style :D However I was also looking for performace as well, which is a let down :P 10kg is unaccetable IMO when you can get down to 4.5 with ease. I almost shat my pants when I swapped over to light wheels. Differance is night and day. I would love to feel some super light brake rotors
  8. Not that they are poor quality, but if you looking at buying some super light wheels look else were, 15x7 were +9kg. Even the british ones are not that light at that size. Thats of course if you care about unsprung mass.... No I'm saying the Aus made ones are cheaply made, and the British ones are better. Going by the weight vs loading factors.
  9. Id been keen to run the MR2 down :P Also in terms of helments, AS motorbike helmets are fine arnt they?
  10. There is superlite Australia wheel (shit) and superlite brand made in England. Not worth it if you looking at light weight wheels above 13/14inch, better options. (Just saw you saying you wanted 13 doooo) $120 is what is quoted on there site. Goes up to $180 if you want polished / differant colours IIRC.
  11. People underestimate the strenghth of bolts, none the less great work boys :blinks:
  12. Anybody from Northside going?
  13. I don't understand english.
  14. Getting trecked like shit at places were your giving them my money, case in point, went to a fish and chips store down the road from uni, to get some chips and pinnaple fritter. As for the pinnaple (they don't have them) the owner gives me some bs snide remark as to why they don't have any?????? Like ffs ok you don't sell them but I'm paying your for the chips be nice? Only reason I still go there is there chips are increible
  15. Nothing beats hitting a Merc in a shit box and having to pay 30G for repair.... O wait 17inch wheels does! And don't say it wont happen, it happened right in front of me.
  16. Ta22 The rolla only really has the fact its cheap going for it.
  17. I ran 14inch wheels with the Landcruiser calipers... Unless your running a willwood kit. Btw my thoughts on bigger wheels, less tyre wall, less slip angle, which means less feel at the limit.
  18. There is not much to actually 'know'. Smaller rolling diameter = better acceleration, lower top speed Bigger rolling diameter = lower acceleration, high top speed There is never a win win situation in engineering, always a compromise.
  19. Dam you..... I’m now seriously thinking of them haha
  20. No no haha ive looked into sliders, but people say they have quite bad transition? In terms of bearings, it is something I have to look into as I have limted knowlege on finner stuff. The tollerances would have to be spot on no? If using no bearings
  21. Heres what I'm thinking Extuded aluminum housing (in cad pics its only 5mm) Square or circulare bearing housing, easily sanded down to match the outside and welded inplace Bored out to fit bearing, looking for one that will also include a seal but easiler have the bearing then a seal Then end cap to make sure they all done fall out - option, not sure if I would want to press fit in the bearing So the only parts that will need to be milled will be the brass linkage bar And laser cut butterflys Thoughts? Solid Edge :D will be looking into expansion properties once Ive got a desing toatly finalised. If I use high grade brass it should keep the butterfly under wraps, only issue will be the aluminum housing, but can always be tested in the oven :laff: I just need to figure out a way to stop lateral motion hmmm Also yes i COULD buy a set but wheres the fun in that? Its about braging rights!
  22. Problem with that, are you going to get some aluminum custom extruded? or cast? Loading CAD at the moment. I'm going to be working on something that requires minumum of profesional maching work, with maximum work being diy
  23. Looks silly, and I can see the amusingly small drum brake heh
