  1. Sorry for hijacking the thread, just replying to mech, I just recently redone an early dash myself, using expander foam in a can, hacksaw blade, plenty of sanding and wrapping it in vinyl, oh and also shite loads of fast grip glue, cheers!
  2. Best of luck with this one, just pay the odd $600 and get yours redone (assuming it's an early dash), much easier, and for wheels................just do a search of the forums and see what other people have done, cheers!
  3. At a guess, behind the drivers side kick panel, or even look for a loop connection that comes out of the harness somewhere along the fire wall, its been ages since I looked at a 30 harness properly, cheers!
  4. I guess it adds character, this didn't happen on the highway did it?
  5. This thread always puts a smile on my face, I'm glad you gave it a rebirth, even if it may end its life into a tree, its better than rusting away in a wrecking yard, Keep up the great work! Cheers! Ps. not trying to jinx you!
  6. ^^^^^^^^^^I know, ha ha, I took a risk, lol!
  7. Pretty good for your first time, keep it up!
  8. I'd google vdo, that's the brand by the look of it, cheers!
  9. Nice picture's you took, I too was surprised at the amount of cars that rocked up, great turnout, hopefully next time i'll take a camera, cheers!
  10. Anyone took pictures? Keen to see, cheers!
  11. Sorry man, but these two don't go together, I can point you in the right direction of someone up here on the northside, cheers!
  12. Early ke30 4 speed speedo drives are different ratio to the late ke30/55 4 and 5 speeds. Went through this problem many years ago trying to find a new speedo drive for an early 4 speed, not sure why it was different, but it was, cheers!
  13. It wouldn't take much to fold a sheet of metal and tack it in, remember not to do a full weld, as it will generate too much heat and distort your roof, keep the updates coming!
  14. It always happens between the welsh plugs too, 3rd one ive seen, all been 5k's and in the same spot, odd certainly!
  15. Dent looks to be fixable in the pic, very hard finding a tail gate with no rust, keep up the good work, cheers!
  16. You need to remove the spot welded brackets from the square headlights in order for the round buckets to fit properly, and for your headlight trim, I'd just use liquid steel, quick, easy, effective, strong. It's the stuff that comes in two tubes and you mix the two parts together, cheers!
  17. ^^^^^^^You should have!
  18. Maybe the thickness of the little and big end bearings together when measuring the internals? Not sure where you measured from when it came to rods and gudgeons? Could have been missed? Not sure........... That 4mm went walkies somewhere...............
  19. Nice pickup, I seen this thing for sale on ebay/gumtree, i'll be watching, cheers!
  20. They only usually come with either a VRS kit or a full gasket set, i might have one laying around, i'll go have a look, cheers!
  21. Yeah ke30/55 will fit, cheers!
  22. Great pick up there mate! Body looks to be in pretty good shape, doesn't look like much rust at all, will be watching! cheers!
  23. Where you have played with the coil, most cars have a 12v boost to the positive side of the coil when cranking, possibly could have been accidently disconnected? cheers!
  24. Ah just give it a whirl, what have you got to lose?
