  1. In bathurst there is a set of traffic lights on the highway on the way out of town where it goes from two lanes to one. i hate people who come up on the left when you are nearing the end of the double lanes and try to merge in front of you. There is no room for them to merge but they try anyway. most people let them in but i really hate it so where possible i keep up with them close any gap in front of me so they have to merge behind me. coz if they get in front they then travel AT LEAST 10km's under the limit. And because i have to go past this to get to work it really gives me the shits!!! /Rant
  2. I would like to see Murphy Win it. I don't know how Lowndes and Whincup will go as they are running a new car so all the problems are yet to surface. Might find they will have to pit alot. Holden for the Win
  3. I hate My f@$king Headmaster. Muck-up day is tomorrow and he has gone and said that throwng waterbombs is a form of abuse and will be dealt with accordingly. I mean they are waterbombs not knives. But thats ok he said nothing about cable ties and gaffer tape. Or potatoes up exhaust pipe!
  4. I have done many laps over the past week. Probably bout 20 laps over the week just for the hell of it, and i have come across the bus' going the wrong way around the track, worse when your taking race line around the track aswell. But the council have been up there painting the walls and ripple strips before the race. But i really hate people who do 40km/h around the track. Your not going to get booked doing 60km/h!!! ARGH! Also Does every one remember they painted over the tributes to Brocky before the Motor Festival at easter??? Was travelling around and saw people writing them again. Legends!!! I gave them the beep of the horn in approval.
  5. Another Racing driver lost close to Bathurst 1000. RIP Colin
  6. Yes that is my reccommendation also. But there are ALWAYS some who don't obey the speed limit. Every time i go up to the mount i see someone speeding. There will be some who will feel the need to speed, Its a race track.
  7. Hello rollaclub members. This message is here as a warning to all potentials who want to do a few honourary laps of Mt Panorama before the big race. Although the race is 2 and a half weeks away, the police have been up there ALOT sitting in spots where you can't see them until its too late (if your speeding that is). I have seen police up at the mount 6 times over the past 4 days, all different times of the day. And thats only what i have seen. It is usually the two XR6 Turbo undercover cars. One blue one black. The police have realised that their old hiding spots don't work so have new ones that are actually quite effective. I have passed them in these spots and you really don't see them until they can get a speed reading on you. Just thought i would inform all potentials before they go being a race driver at Bathurst, Think about the coppers and whether or not it would be worth it to get caught. Purely your choice, i can't make you do anything. I can however advise. Just so you are all informed i am not irresponsible, i just enjoy making use of the circuit being close by. It is a very fun drive even if it isnt at speed. But my license is valuable to me and as i am on my red P's, getting caught speeding...there goes my license. Cheers Jake
  8. I hate it how my work, as soon as i turned 18, cut all of my shifts pretty much giving me the boot just cause it would cost them an extra $2 an hour for me to work there. My main hate at the moment is my school. They provide (at best) 4 classes a day at school and give us detention for being truent for the classes they don't provide. I mean FFS we're in yr 12 with 13 school days left before HSC. Another one of my hates is people that steal P-plates off cars. Do they not realise that it is 1 point and A hefty fine for every missing P-plate. Its never happened to me but i see it happen all the time. Great thread. /Rant
  9. Nickname: don't have one Real name: Jake Rides: 1984 AE71 Corolla 1984 AE71 Corolla Parts Car
  10. This is very much like a Tarago cruising around Bathurst. It has a Bonnet scoop, body kits, Chromies, And Spoiler. Its very odd, but always good for a Laugh.
  11. Well that just ate up a good 3 and a half hours reading the entire thread. I'm liking that idea.
  12. Hey. I had the same problem for 3 days. But logged on today and all is well. Everything is showing up. I hope it doesnt plan to stuff up again. Good luck to all those still having problems. Cheers Jake
  13. This car sounds alot like my sisters Celica. Her car lives up to its colour...Its a lemon! She's on her P's, she gets the car registered, she damages the front right guard, right indicator and front bumper. minor problem, no worries. A bit later on, she loses her lisence so car comes off road. goes back on the road and engine dies. Sits in the shed for a fair while getting a new engine. engine in, on road. bout 4 days later, back in the shed, the gearbox died. stays in the shed for about 1 week and gets a new gearbox put in. goes back on the road for another week and she drives to sydney to visit family. front left wheel is loose. gets trailered back to bathurst then is back in the shed. Had a look and couldnt see a problem, dad pulled the front to peices, couldnt see a problem put it back together and it was all good. no more loose wheel. back on the road and came back to the shed numerous times for the problem of loose wheel. (we know what is wrong with it but hard to find the part to fix it.) the car has been good for a while until just the other day when the starter motor died. But that will teach my sister for buying a celica...she should have bought a corolla. This is my "kinda related" story. Good luck with your car though. Sad to hear its spent so much time in the shop.
  14. Be careful with this wheel. My mate got one for his RA40 Celica, but the boss kit didnt fit so he lent it to me for my rolla until he could get a proper boss kit. He asked for it back so i took it off my rolla had a look and it had cracks all through it where the metal enters the outer part. Just a Heads Up. Nice upgade for the $5.50 too.
  15. Ummm YES!!! Saw the movie a few days ago, then saw the trailer for the movie and it made me want to watch it again...So i went again a few days later, and the second time was just as good, if not better, than the first time watching it. Have to agree with everyone else in saying if you havent seen it your missing out. Cheers Jake
  16. I rekon you should paint it the Monaro Light blue. Saw this colour on a ke25 and it looked really good.
  17. Hey, My mate has a similar problem in his RA40 Celica. It used to miss really bad at idle. My dad static timed it for him and then it stopped missing at idle but now misses everywhere else in the rev range. The problem with his car is that his vacuum advance is rooted. don't know if this s the same problem but i hope the information could be useful. Good Luck with it mate. Cheers Jake
  18. Personally I would go and get a decent set of tools. i wouldnt go snap-on straight away. It takes years to get a worthwile collection of snap-on. I have a cheap set of tools from supercheap to have in-car but when I'm at home i use dads snap-on. It fits all the bolts properly and I have all the appropriate tools for every purpose as dad is an ex-mechanic. Plus i don't have to worry as much about them breaking as they are more durable and have the lifetime warranty. So i would reccomend getting a decent cheap set that is portable. Jake
  19. I was under this impression too for a while. But my mate has a heavily modified datsun 1200 coupe race car and it is road registered. He is also on his P's but is too lazy to get the exemption. He was talking to a highway patrol officer and my mate asked the question about driving his car around. The copper said that it is ok to drive with all the engine mods as long as he carries the papers around stating the modifications and that it is non turbo etc. This is in NSW and i would definately trust my mate about this as he has been driving his car on the road (not as a daily driver as his parents wouldnt allow it). Best thing to do if you know one, Talk to a copper and ask about it. Hope This Helps Jake
  20. Not meaning to slag you off or you might have done it this way, the supersprint was on the 1st of december. so it couldnt have possibly been posted up before that. so start there and work your way back to the present. wasnt too far from 1st december so it was a quick look. Cheers Jake
  21. Had a quick look through the forums and found the post about this incident. http://www.rollaclub.com/board/index.php?showtopic=10967 Sorry to repost, it was just something close to home.
  22. I was searching in Ke70.com today and i came across a picture of a car in the air upside down. i looked in the background and saw this was at Mt panorama. i then looked at the location of the track and realised that this was the car my mate was telling me about from the supersprint. i had only seen the aftermath pictures prior. ^^^This was the pic i found at ke70.com If you look at it, the passengers head rest saved the guy from getting crushed. Just got to imagine how fast he would have been going. would have been fun before getting airborne. But Still must question....Why did he not go straight ahead into the 50000km of sandtrap????? He Should be happy, his marks are still on the ripple strip to this day. Cheers Jake P.S I can get more images of the supersprint if anyone is interested.
  23. I'm liking the way you think. :jamie:
  24. Sorry i made a mistake. the law is "Any performance enhancing modification is not allowed for P Plate drivers" this means that extractors are out of the question also. Yes...Better economy............. :jamie: And yes it sucks to be a P plater nowadays. Jake
  25. You cannot drive with Webers while on your P's. it counts as Modifications hence falls under the Prohibited vehicles. unless you want to lose 7 points and a $375 fine i would not recommend it. Extractors are ok. Jake
