  1. stud pattern would be right. offset looks far too much for a ae82.
  2. like my sig says...
  3. on a mid-late 80's fwd ricer, yeah
  4. HAHAHA love the tarago what motor? stocker? Front wheel drive? 18s out of that bus is pretty impressive
  5. Hmm yeah same with my bro's. Auto, 2000rpm at 100kmh. My falcon does 1600rpm at 100kmh. Now thats high.
  6. You must have had a freak of nature VL. My bro's is absolutely spick and span, body and mechanically. 9's on the highway, 12-13s around town. On a side note, my falcon gets 19-22L/100klms around town on Gas. Hooray for gas, otherwise i'd be a poor man.
  7. Hiro Protagonist and dysolve speak the truth. And no, RB30 atmo's can't get 7L/100klms. Thats shit. My bro has a VL. I come from a family of Commodores. I've seen the good and the bad. Are they shit? no. Do they have jap engineering and quality? no. Are they generally good cars? Yes. Only rarely did VNs have box troubles. Only rarely did VTs have electrical troubles. Only rarely did VXs have suspension troubles etc. Just remember that there are alot more examples of Commodores that most other cars. You're always going to get some that fail. If you thrash the shit out of a Corolla and run it up gutters and abuse it, it aint gonna last. Same with Commodores. Low power per litre? Yes. So what. It's the torque that gets you there. They build the cars for Aussies and generally Aussies love torque. I have a LPG falcon. Probably about 140kw and 380nm of torque from 4L. Thats dispecable power output. Thats an awesome torque output tho. Just remember, There's a place for everything.
  8. thanks i thought it was a good one
  9. I always said that with my old corolla, I'd be the only one at the drags who would pull a "Sunscreen Time".... 30+
  10. Jellybeans ftw
  11. mags, wing, doof doof, lowered, clear tail lights, cannon zorst. true rice!
  12. Yes, a 1989-designed QUAD CAM 4L V8 from Toyota does have more power than a Falcon motor. Don't get me wrong, but i don't believe that you can put these motors on LPG and do over 1,100,000klms in them without need for even replacing the head (heads). Horses for Courses.
  13. Ah, i remember back in the good old days, only people with actual knowledge would post. A thread would be over in about 12 posts because the topic question was clearly and concisely answered. Basically, a 3K isn't necessairly faster than a 4K and vice versa. I have a mate who has a 3K KE30 and it is pretty slow. My old 4K was slow when i first got it. Remove spaghetti, replace air filter, replace spark plugs, points, condenser and give it a good old tune, and she flew quite nicely. Some motors are just quicker than others. Mileage, age, care, servicing etc has a lot more to do with how well an engine goes than the statistics on paper.
  14. Shannons is good for odd cars
  15. I remember back to the day where we had very few sub-20 post fools, and only genuine kesev or older owners, and we were all here to help each other. I Like rollaclub, and I don't want it to go wayward like most public forums. One of the many reasons why I love rollaclub is the genuine helpfulness and concern people have for another Corolla owner. It is great.
  16. and thats why i didn't bother getting my ke55's door sills etc painted, i just got the outside painted.
  17. As a computer technician, when i had my rolla, I used to love them. You can lock the PC up so tight it ain't ever moving. In my falcon, i can't do that. They were cumbersome, messy and downright retarded, but they were exceptional for locking in PC's and Monitors.
  18. When 10 year old 1.8L Hyundai Lantra's can do 9L/100klms, i wouldn't be saying that 10L/100klms is good for a gutless 1.3L if it was 7L/100klms THEN i'd be saying awesome. ps not promoting hyundai's, just stating fact. But back to the main Q: I would doubt anyone here doesn't own a Toyota for the reliability as at least part of the reason.
  19. Why do i like toyotas/corollas? I don't like anything in particular except: K MOTOR RELIABILITY If the K motor was made shit (ie mitsubishi style) this site would not exitst.
  20. ah, mr roberto, i believe KE55s also came out with those bumpers the CS KE55 has larger ones though. someone correct me if i'm wrong though hey.
  21. I'm guessing a slightly modified KE55 series 1 ('round headlight') wagon. Looks awesome.
  22. I'm a big believer in well tuned stock. My KE55 was always well tuned, and wasn't a slouch. But I wanted more power. I figured i could spend heaps on the KE55 and go nowhere, or get a big fat six and need to do no mods. I got the big fat six. Turning circle of a cruise liner, but there is no registered K motor in the world that could beat it to a hundred (this side of a motor worth more than my ex-cab, anyway). Don't get me wrong, i'm not knocking the Rolla's. When i'm done with my falcon in a couple of years I'm going straight back to the Corollas, probably an AE112 or something like that. Just like the FAQ says, it's just a crappy K motor. They were built for rock solid unbeatable toyota reliability, not performance. If i was going to stay with the corollas I would have like to have owned a 4AGE inspired KE70 CSX automatic. That would be cool.
  23. f@$k em. Don't do shit until you get an official reading from DOT with a meter.
  24. Nope. The cars are just too different. Are they similar? Yes. Are they the same car just re-badged? No. I would say they would have been competitors, but not the same car, no more than a KE30 is a 200B.
  25. That is one of the best cars i have ever seen small sedan with a V8 = king.
