  1. Thanks guys. Tuner was very smart but in hindsight maybe too ʞ©$ɟing smart. I felt like he was playing games with me a bit. Said a few odd things along the way, and looking at the afrs and the torque he has basically killed the top end of the power curve and manufactured a loss in power just so I will come back and spend more money. He clearly doesn't know how to read the room, because I wont go back for more BS, thats so not me. I wish he would have just tuned it to the full extent of its power as up top its 11.8:1 by his afrs and not that stable so there might be 10kw left in it or more I reckon. It wasn't cheap in the first place so I don't think Ill go back. Safe is one thing, rich is another. I don't think he even researched the vvti movement much, as when I asked about it he changed the subject. ʞ©$ɟ! He said something like, Oh I could spend more time on it but I know you want it back, and I've left the top end safe for you to muck around with. You just do what you want to do and if you get off track bring it back and Ill fix it for you ($$). It went against my instructions which was to make full power tuning accurate and then do 3/4, half and 1/4 load and then Ill fill in the rest. He said his work on a tune like this would be 3000 bucks normally. Normally I'd tell someone to ʞ©$ɟ off if that's what they cost and didn't kick goals. If you have my car for three weeks you ʞ©$ɟing well better give it back to me well tuned within the parameters I defined. I'm more than likely going to find Rob Novak and get him to do the full power tune (in about 1 hours time while I wait) and then Ill drive tune when required. I don't need ʞ©$ɟing games after all this time. Goes in Friday for a wheel alignment, brake adjust and general look over at the mechanics. He knows the tuner guy well and recommended him too so I think Ill talk to him about the BS and see what he reckons.
  2. 2azfe stock motor in ae86. Adaptronic, W57 F Series LSD 3.9:1 96mm trumpets.
  3. Heres the dyno sheet. Finally! I had them tune with the shorter and the longer trumpets. The better power came with the longer ones. You can see the power was better almost everywhere on the green run with the 96mm trumpets. Tuner recommends trying longer ones again. Drove it home and had a bit of fun with it. Seems well tuned, I believe it needs transient enrichment so I will add that, but its pretty good for having had none added yet. Heavy traffic was a bit of a bummer but I can assure you all the diff locks both sides smoothly without any fuss. Unintended wheel spin is always a good start. :clover:  The tuner said it behaved well and didn't let him down in any way on the dyno so that's a good thing. I think a couple of finer points to sort out with the tuning and then it might make around 115kw max before I go to 11:1. Its about 144hp atw as it stands, but the real test is the 1/4 mile so I will be there this Saturday to smash as many Fords, Holdens and Nissans as possible. Badly needs: Drum adjustment Wheel alignment Bonnet Pins Hatch pins New fanbelt as its died on the dyno, and its only a 5 rib on a 6 rib system. Squeals! Sound deadening. Lift pump insulation or possibly relocation to shut it up. Miles put on it.
  4. No news yet. Dyno tuner takes his time and does everything right. Hopefully Friday, otherwise next week.
  5. So adjust your tie rod ends
  6. Youve got a big pile of parts that are incompatible witrrh corolla geometry. Stock parts will solve your issues. S13 gear is famously shit in a ke70.
  7. I'm sure they will, when i collect it. Cheers Mate!
  8. Not yet, the plan has always been to set it up at stock comp then to do it a bit later on.
  9. Drove it to the tuner today on the other side of town. I ʞ©$ɟing love it! Pulls so hard on the highway, its insane. I only revved it to 4000revs too. Still got a third to give! Ill collect it in a couple of days and take it in for a wheel alignment and some suspension tuning. brakes worked fine but weren't as effective as they could be, just need bedding in and adjustment I think.
  10. You bet. I'm kinda impressed with how much of it was perfect without testing it. Yes I was just expressing frustration bud. Id never cube it, I was just anxious about being ready for the dyno Monday.
  11. Just had first drive and its ʞ©$ɟing awesome. Badly needs a wheel alignment, also needs rear brake adjustment (kind sound wierd), sound deadening, and skinnier wheels that don't foul the guards. Can anyone on the north side loan me some? Anything that's 14 or 15 and not neg offset and the correct rolling diameter? Anyone? Even steels? I'm pretty stoked to announce it didn't drop any fluids at all. The cooling system, clutch, tail shaft, brakes and everything else worked great and smoothly. It sits on 87 degrees just rock solid. Thermo fan worked good, it even seems to idle control well with just minimal adjustment. One awesome thing is having a pre calibrated gauge sender installed next to the ecu sender that needed calibrating. Every 5 degrees as it gets warm you just calibrate each temp. Piss easy. So I've been to Macs and had the hole in the pipes welded out. All good now. I really need some skinnier wheels and tyres for the trip to the dyno on Monday AM. At least I know its tuneable!
  12. Stigma aside the motor will make plenty of power for the chassis and not be too out of balance either. Id never do it personally (build one) but its a more valuable body than an aw11 if its good. AW is pretty cool though.
  13. Yeah matt I'm pretty proud. Just need to enjoy it now.
  14. Thanks Dave! Going to have to mess with idle control this arvo and try to set that up. Then warm up and see if any coolant leaks. Then off to Macs to have a pinhole in an exhaust weld closed up.
  15. Wiring was fine we just didn't understand how to reconcile the missing tooth position on the triger wheel. All sorted now. Had a lot of emails back and forth from Adaptronic and they helped a lot.
  16. All you can say is something about the socks? WTF?
  17. She drives perfect. Started it up today and made a video of it running. Also drove it around the yard and did a couple skids on the grass. Shits tight! Wish I didn't have to build stuff today Id love to drive it and tune it. :clover: :lovin:
  18. You will wnat a bigger than t diff to last long term behind a ca18det.
  19. I don't think you can get good shocks for small money as far as bc goes and probably the same with hsd. That's the one thing that you shouldn't skimp on and far more important to overall tuning than base height adjustability if you ask me.
  20. I still need to do a few more tests but at least its running again. No videos till I finish messing with it, and because its too late now. Ill have to warm up the coolant and see if its good at 82 degrees.
  21. I would never buy a packaged set Id make my own from a series of street origin upgrade parts so its legal looking at a glance. None of the options you're looking at have bigger stubs so they all don't really interest me personally. At the end of the day do you want to do what everyone else does or do you want to take the opportunity to design something new and make some modifications that are unique to your tastes and requirements?
  22. It would be impossible to explain how I got here but it runs on none now. Running on 2 was an anomaly caused by a combo of swapped round wiring and triggering that has since been tested and corrected. Adaptronic has a diagnostic process to follow I need to work through it.
