  1. I guess Ill find out tomorrow. It was after midnight when I made the ID last night and I was away all day today.
  2. Hi, I bought another car. SA63 with 1838cc 4sfe engine from an sx80 chaser. 9.5:1 CR. 92KW @ 6000 - 162NM @4600 Runs a bit rough but working on it. Thought it was a 3sfe but did a bit of snooping and its a genuine rwd 4sfe. Put clean fuel in today, cleaned TB. New fuel filter. New HKS pod. If it goes alright Ill probably thrash it. Maybe make a khana car of it. Need to look and see if it has the unobtainium shifter position that is perfect for my ae86/2az. Be amazing if it did, that would mean the box is also from the jdm vehicle. It drives and shifts really good. Did a 2 wheeler on the grass so will have to inspect the diff. Springs are red, so maybe pedders. Bit shit condition overall but good for a thrasher.
  3. Nice, Im servicing an sa63 and trying to get its 3sfe conversion running good. Gotta love a little time off. HNY Yall
  4. No idea really, but one interesting thing, dont overpay for them, a guy bought all the unbuilt cars as parts and is selling them off piece by piece and occasionally puts out brand new cars built from parts upon request, so not as rare as they seem , and parts are still available 100%, so no need to overpay for a wrecked one just to get parts. The rarity may come as you say from the colour. It might have been a different type of stainless steel, if its still brushed finish as well.
  5. Use soft rubber. its way too hard to compress a dense rubber as, AC said above. I had a couple of gos to find the right density for different applications on the ae86 around the windows and the tails. I ended up cutting the tail light gaskets from self adhesive closed cell foam rubber and it helps with adhesion against the smooth body of the car and seems to work well.
  6. It sounds like one of your neighbours is running drugs or stolen shit and they are trying to target a certain road or certain area at certain times. I dare say it will subside once they find who they are looking for.
  7. On further inspection the driving lights were on both low and high beam and would not dip. It was simplyu a matter of putting the pin 86 relay ground into the other side of the h4 plug as then it grounds through the dipper switch as it should. Easy fix, but one me and Dad were debating half the night. Ended up winning the $2 bet we made on it. Good fun.
  8. Ok we have the spot lights working. I fitted a switch to the dash, and they come on and off with a switch when high beams on. Pretty stoked with the father son effort on the light mount. Its completely concealed under the bar and gives a good solid support to bolt the lights through. Also threw in a photo of the idle controller. Shiny. Also some of the wiring involved in the headlight rewire. Oh and the sa63.
  9. Well done on the fix, better late than never, but I have done a new clutch without machining and it was super fucked and shuddery after that. Never again. It scares me that big G did 2 a day at the import shop, as imports get thrashed. What shop was that Big G? I'm going to steer clear of their vehicles.
  10. Yes seasons greetings to all and sundry. Looking forward to a big 2018.
  11. Dads been staying for a few days over Christmas. Yesterday we finally got around to fitting the headlight rewire. Such a huge improvement. I also tapped and fitted a new idle controller, as Ive been experiencing erratic performance from the original one I had. Seems better so far.
  12. Have now purchased a red sa63 hatch as a parts car, but I kinda want to strip it out for auto cross its got a 3sfe engine 90kw and 195NM. Big step up from a 2sc. Might end up putting the engine and box in the ra65 if I decide it needs to be sportier, but its hard to commit to as the ra65 is perfectly unmolested. Won it on ebay through a second chance offer and got it home yesterday.
  13. You need 15x8 plus 20 to fit the rear, and maybe -5 for the front, or it will hit the struts. Wider wheels have more backspace and makes it more difficult with offset. I had 15x8 -8 on the front and it cleared by about 5 mm. Required a bit of gaurd work front and rear. Youd be better off with 7s, you can still fit that tyre size. Its more important to have sticky tires than wide ones.
  14. Sorry to hear. Youll bounce back.
  15. Do you base this build on the live rear or the irs?
  16. It might fetch a grand if someones desperate for a few bits. What a POS.
  17. https://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/windsor/cars-vans-utes/1983-toyota-sprinter-barn-find/1164964375 9k for this rusty adm shitter. "Minor rust" bahahahahahaha.
  18. Thats impressive considering it was closed for some time.

  20. Just out of curiosity, did the high rpm miss ever go away?
  21. If youre desperate and cant do the cooling flush maybe you can get the windscreen wiper nozzle from the passenger side and make it into a radiator water spray like intercoolers have.
  22. Firstly see if the thermostat is working, so take it to the local cafe and ask if you can put a pot on the stove to test if it opens. They should have a thermometer for you to use to see what temperature this happens at. What kind of cooling fan do you have? The old clutch fans are inefficient and they cost many HP, up to 1/5 of your power can be eroded. so a thermofan would definitely help if you dont have one. You can just wire it up to a switch, so that it is easy to use when it gets hot you can boost it up. If you're out on the road and need a quick fix overnight, Id look at adding some muckowt descaler for the next hundred ks of driving, that will descale the cooling system, and then dump the water from the block, do the mandatory unblocking of the block drain and let or pick all the crud out, same for the radiator, maybe even physically remove it and invert it with running water. Then just put it back together and run it with a garden hose in the top of the radiator and the hot hose disconnected for ages letting the aged coolant, muckowt and scale be flushed out. Then put it back together and bleed it up.
  23. Just installed a kouki cluster to this. Bit of a pain but I seem to have worked out a working combo of all the bits I had.
  24. If you had an ae71 manual car to take bits from and you use the electronics and vee belt system from the 4ac on the 4age you can do the conversion in a weekend, then you just have to jet and tune it, and have an exhaust fitted, which can be done if you have the patience to read a manual and ask the right questions, there's even a document called the 4age bible that gives a comprehensive guide to all things 4age performance.
