  1. you could always knock up some brackets and piggy back a second sway bar onto the existing one. Looks tough too!
  2. oh well, shave it another 1mm and see what happens then hahah.
  3. Argh - electric buffers, perish the thought! So many new cars getting about with a nice swirl pattern in the paint thanks to the old electric buffer! Good old elbow grease, can't go wrong....
  4. Mate, I'm glad I asked the question before I forked out! I'm familiar with both the setups, but looking at the techedge site, I wasn't sure if they are still making them (the site is about 15 years old as far as looks go!) I was erring towards the LC1, but now I'm not sure. So it was the wideband controller that packed up, not the actual O2 sensor (which are bosch items?!?)
  5. Scotty, you're only going matte finish because you're too lazy to do the body work! haha. Charl, top job. Good to see you're getting into it with gusto! If you are going to get it done properly, consider painting a regular paintjob and then hitting it with a flattening clear - paintjobs done like this look much more consistent and they have more depth to the colour! But keep it up and plenty of regular updates! tp.
  6. thats 3 mm - crazy. what comp were you gunning for with that Dwarf?
  7. Haha - all you aero engineers are butchers! Now mechanical engineers, we use finesse. I used a hammer to belt my ball joints out. A big hammer.... Putting them in was sheer mech eng genius as well: Used the vice jaws and a bit of tube. If it it went a bit crooked going in, we just turned it round in the vice and pressed the other side. Brilliant.
  8. Scott is that ke25 the one from Belair that had a tree shaped dent in the front end? 5K? Its tough looking anyway. If you're going to do a satin paint job, do something different than black, try an oxide red or something!
  9. yeh, metalflake green is the go! Crazy.
  10. Mind if i ask what those rims stung you? They're pretty tidy looking!
  11. Brodie, top work mate. 2 questions: are those HM/Perry headers? Did you use the Innovate LC1 wideband o2 sensor?
  12. Just read the post that said you had a CA18det bluebird wagon - Funny as, I used to boot around in one myself. Deathtrap! Mine was wickedly fast, sold it on and the guy dynoed it at 145rwkw! And I just figured it was a good stock motor...
  13. Yeh, compressor size will matter, those air sanders chew a fair bit of air. If its too small you end up waiting for it to charge up again! Stripper is nasty shit, I got me some big gloves when I used it.
  14. who's your bitch and did you get any sexy time? haha.
  15. Another one for the Fatigue basket. Microscopic cracks form at a sharp radius, like when you get porosity (bubbles) or a sharp machined edge etc. Constant fluctuating load causes the crack to grow and grow and grow and BANG she's all over. Take a good look at the face that snapped - you'll see a shiny area with wavy lines across it, then a dull rough area.
  16. Yeh, Its about that I reckon, just not sure. Looking at your pictures though, I do reckon mine don't kick upwards as much as the ones you have there. I haven't fitted them yet though, so I'm not sure.
  17. 4 Days, thats a good effort. A Panel beater recommended to me to use a blade to scratch the hell out of the paintwork before laying the stripper, to let it get in deeper and lift more paint in one hit. Generally from what I have found is they still take a couple of hits to get it all off. I'm just trying to work out what size compressor I need before I buy one. Even if you get a pic of the compressor and the sander that would be great.
  18. check the top of your page: rollaclub.com > Toyota Mechanical Forums > General Mechanical Think about it. You're asking questions about putting a Rotor into a Datsun from those on a Corolla website. I know its not explicitly against the rules, but it is a bit strange. Why don't you ask how to paint like picasso or bake a cake while you're at it mate?
  19. tuck and roll city! that wags is nuts. Is it bagged or just slammed the good old way?
  20. I'll give them a measure when I get home (friday) for you as well. Not Mandrel bent, but I'm fairly certain you wont find any mandrel bent ones without paying premiums for customs. But they are a neat looking set.
  21. damn double post. I always wondered how people do that... stupid back button.
  22. Hey mate, I have just scored a set of 4-1 Perry/HM Header extractors. I will get you a picture of them this friday. Unfortunately, I think you will find there is still quite a length before they bend downwards. Its a fairly common problem, you might need to cut and shut the headers to get it to work even. Tom.
