  1. Loads of KE70's have the AC gear on them, I've been thinking of setting my rolla up with AC!
  2. Yeh I wasn't sure if it was 2 idlers like that or in sequence. the wear rate should be lower with the 2 idlers instead of one because they share the load.
  3. I dunno if I'd try that, you'll dump a fair bit of oil on the floor :) He's got a single piece pulley by the looks of it. I didn't realise they have different timing covers, I better check the one I just picked up at the wreckers. Might grab the pulley off the same car....!
  4. buy 500 bucks of methanol, dial your timing right up and you'll be sweet.
  5. The Carter units go for about 150 on Ebay, they have a nice bracket with vibration isolators etc. Holley Reds go for a similar price as well, not sure what mounting hardware they have though.
  6. Check all the screw around the pump body. I had an old Galant and the pump died, just tightened up the screws on the pump body and resealed the diaphragm and it was all go!

  8. Careful - many paint strippers are Alkaline and will eat aluminium Die grinders will do a quicker job too, they rev harder than a drill~!
  9. Gday mate, You need to do the clamp up tighter. I'm assuming the moving item is the bit that bolts to the rocker cover? The sheath of the cable needs to remain fixed, only the internal part moves.

  11. Agreed about the whole farce auditions: I can't imagine those guys made a dodgy home-stiched dvd like myself and others had to! Probably didnt audition at all! Hell, I'm just pissed because I didnt get the job haha. As for the old guy, I reckon he'll settle in and get into the swing of it. Keep in mind that the UK version is in its 11th year and the boys have a pretty soldid rapport with each other!
  12. 4 gears, so the cam runs in reverse to the usual direction, thus all the ramp profiles are different?
  13. how many gears cam? 2 or 3? I like that pulley driven oil cooler pump, thats a cool little bit of gear!
  14. dude the whole car is made of an alloy. if you're talking about Aluminium, then thats different. The aluminium engine parts will weight about 20kg and that's about all you'll find on the car. the rest is steel except the block which is cast iron.

  18. Just do the mods on the one you've got and get it running, and then drive the newly modded car to the wrecker and pull another one off if you're worried. Its not like you're butchering a 427 chev factory injection manifold off a 60's corvette, its a K Manifold!

  22. Cheers, I'll do that mate. I quickly spoke to Bosch the other day, he reckons if I get the numbers on a Dizzy, I can then ring them and they can cross reference different cam plates etc and find out availability and so on. I'll keep you all posted! TP.
  23. I assume that it changes the temp setting so that it doesnt keep kicking in all the time. (ie, the temp that triggers the AC on goes from 20 up to 23 or something like that) Just because its idling higher doesn't mean the compressor is actually on. You'll still get cold air flowing for a while because the AC evaporator is still cold.
  24. how did you not notice warping vibration through the pedal!!! Surely they must have warped? Phenomenal.....
  25. This isn't an engine conversion topic, mods move it by any chance?
