  1. Yep. My new ACLs have nowhere near as much dish....
  2. Late model bluebird diffs, h190's are quite tough. Lots of guys running those with SR's etc. Don't go the earlier H160 though, break easy.
  3. I see where you're coming from.
  4. You'll need to swap the Pinion as well if you swap the crown wheel.
  5. Common misconception - cut springs will be stiffer, not softer. If you cut them, you will need to increase the damping rate of your shocks to match. Hence you see all the dumped ke-sevs getting around and they are "oversprung".
  6. Yeh just checked his ride thread, funnily enough I didn't recognise it! Good times. There's been many tough KE10's in mine/henry's locality over the last 10 years......
  7. Hey mate, you don't deliver pizzas do you? I had a good look over your car the other day near a local pizza establishment...... I'd love to take a geez at your thermo fan setup, next time I see it parked out the front of the pizza shop I'll come looking for ya! TP.
  8. Yeh, its a rocket. Nice interior, very clean. Sort of thing I'd buy and sneak a 1UZ into......
  9. For those looking at my engine bay wondering what the white crap is, thats the Chem E Weld that got all over the engine bay from my fix-it attempt...... Contemplating spraying the engine bay.... More pictures of my Donk, sans manifolds. Also this KE11 is just round the corner from my folks: Looks like the delivery boy car for the Pizza joint. All original condition by the look of it. Very nice, anyone know whose it is?
  10. I don't think that you should go turbo, most corolla owners have had great success with a factory supercharged Merlin engine. We are currently putting together a step by step pictorial How-To guide for this budget, common, garden variety Corolla upgrade.
  11. Local pub where I grew up at the bottom of a hill, we'd switch off at the top and get a nice charge up by the time we got to the pub and BOOOOOM everyone would spill their beers.... mate blew a muffler in half. Gold.
  12. The carby is a Stromberg knockoff of an SU, it was common on the Rovers, Range Rovers and Jags etc. Bit more modern than the SU's . Probably a 2 Inch, I have one at home off that I would be happy to sell. It was actually on a drawthrough mazda setup.
  13. I never dream about girls, only cars, work and violence. Very strange. Probably because I'm always thinking about the girls while I'm at work.....
  14. Semantics. I spotted a minter up my way as well, I'll DL the pics and post it up.
  15. Before I ripped the 3k out, I checked the Extractor fitment, given that they are notorious for hitting things in KE10's..... Perfect fit! It's touching the side of the Toyoglide, but the K50 is about 70mm narrower, so it'll have plenty of space in there once I swap the box. There looks like ample space for the starter (shouldn't even need a KE70 one), and the Idler is also clear on full stroke, plus they fit up nicely with the Dellortos. I'm fairly sure they're HM's for those who want to know. *EDIT* I just checked my correspondence with the guy I bought them off, he said they were HM Headers (Perry might be owned by HM now)> I'd assume they are the HM38's off their website. I'm blown away at the fit!
  16. Take care of acidic cleaning compounds or you might end up with the plastic going Hazy and cracking. You definitely want to do some tests before you go soaking them in it.
  17. Open it up in paint then resave as a Jpeg, it drops file size quite a lot.
  18. Nope. 2 doors is always cooler. Can your brother hook me up with a tough little publica though?
  19. Hot dip cleaning the block cost me ~40 bucks and it was bare. Needs new cam bearings and welsh plugs afterwards though. I used 1200 degree engine paint, but I didn't prime. Next time I think I'll prime it as well to smooth the cast texture out a bit.
  20. Its a given you need to have the tank Empty before you do it. If you can get access to a hoist you will be able to drain the tank into Jerry cans and reuse the fuel.
  21. Sounds like too much advance. Double check the marks like mentioned.
  22. You'll need to work out the throw on the clutch fork and whether or not your slave has enough throw. If not, you will need to modify the fork to suit your throw length, and that will change your pedal pressure. It's definitely possible though.
  23. if any of you intrepid explorers find an A Model coupe in the bush, just drop me a line hahah.
  24. Check out www.sumidel.com. I think their rebuild kits are about 40 bucks each, and they have lots of gear. I spoke to the bloke on the phone in the past, very easy to deal with. TP.
  25. That reminds me KE25_KID, I still need to get that starter off you. I land back from Roxby on Thursday night, I'll give you a buzz and come get it Friday. I'll bring the 5K Sump with me to compare as well. After the 3k crapped itself, I realised that Auto's suck (no towing....) and I scored a KE55 K50 box at a good price. So no Toyoglide... I'll keep it and put it in another cruiser one day. As for power I haven't really thought about it that much. Just want it to lump away, rip skids and generally amuse people that look at it. I scored a swaybar on Ebay for 96 bucks, and I'm going to use a ke70 rear one adapted for the back.
