  1. Stubbie holder with inbuilt clock which I got from the cousins. Also 5l Heineken party keg from brother in law.
  2. I can see what you mean by making it look non- illegal, but I just don't see the cost being < the gains. And like I said, it is just as illegal as a 4age. And no, my 5K isn't legal for a p plater. 15% increase of a 4k(1290cc) is 1483cc, and a 5K is 1496cc, so therefore should require engineering, thus prohibited by P plate driving. Also it has a reground cam, extractors, twin Dellortos etc which are clear performance modifications.
  3. Nice! Love this car :) How much neg camber have you got dialled to (semi)fit those rims under the guards? 3-4? Looks bloody tough though. Any recent videos of it in action?
  4. typo, meant modified engine. Your initial statement of "because I'm on my p;s and want to up it as close to a 1.6 as i can without it being illegal ie 4age" is basically a contradiction of what your are wanting to do. 1.6 is illegal in the first place in a KE70 w/out engineering (which makes it illegal for you, a P plater) and just modifying it makes it just as illegal as doing a 4age swap for the same or less than what it would cost boring a 4k to 1600cc. If you want 1.6 in a KE buy an ae71. It is a Win- Win situation. 1.6 AND legal for you to drive. :)
  5. Quote regarding 4AGE in KE70 for P plate use.
  6. Anything over 1490cc will be illegal to drive in a KE unless engineered. Infact, any modification to increase performance is illegal for a P plater to drive period. Ring engine builders yourself if you are genuinely interested in doing this. IMO it ain't gonna happen. If you want a fullsick fast car bro, why buy a KE770 in the first place or just go a 4age as it would probably cost less to do, and be just as illegal to drive.
  7. Jesus would buy a scotch on the rocks, bet all on red, win, then walk out of the Casino with a girl under each arm while smoking a cigar. Or atleast that's what I image he'd do.
  8. Merry Christmas guys. Thanks to all admins, mods and senior members for making this site what it is. Have a good one all. :D
  9. Lmfao ^^ Good to see that Wagga is providing you with some "unforgettable" moments :bash: Seriously, worst place going. 65000 people, and not one interesting attraction in the city. I bet you'll be glad to leave.
  10. Are you in Wagga Wagga for xmas or something? Poor lad. Wagga is the biggest hole. :lmao:
  11. Woke up with the biggest hangover thanks to our work Christmas party and the 9 hours of drinking it involved till 2am. After I managed to get out of the shower this morning I then realised that I had a shit load of welts over my body thanks to the paintballing we did prior to hitting the pub. Then had to work today for 6 hours with the boss putting a kitchen in. :y: Worst $120 I've ever made. :) Pretty much just gonna die now.
  12. Best Xmas lights ever.
  13. If you want a BMW, buy a BMW. If you want a KE10, buy a KE10. Damned if I know why you would do that to a car. Just doesn't float my boat at all.
  14. Lifter Preload. Regrinding a cam to a new profile reduces the lobe centre diameter which in turn means that there is less preload on the lifters. Depending on how much is taken off you shouldn't have a problem with either a solid lifter setup or a hydaulic setup. With solids, you can just adjust the rocker arms to take up what was removed from the cam, but with a hydro setup, you can't adjust anything as the lifters do it for you. As long as a shit load hasn't been taken off the cam, the preload should be fine. It is alot of stuffing around to convert a 5K hydraulic setup to solids and from what I gather, not much of an advantage at all. Search on here and you'll find that people have talked about lifter preload. I know that I had previously made about it. Have a read of this. It is a site that was linked to me by Felix on here, and straightened any misunderstandings I had with what was actually going on with lifter preload.
  15. 5K with hydraulic lifters running a reground solid lifter 4K camshaft.
  16. How can you be so awesome mr shades? Oh yeah, post count says it all.
  17. Yep. I don't think there is any difference at all with the 4k and 5k hydro camshafts. As Justin said, I am running a reground 4k one in my 5k and haven't had any problems. Had it reground to a Tighe 104 profile and comes on strong about 4500 and pulls well into 7000 rpm. I wouldn't class it as a very "lumpy" cam, but I think that it is a good size for street driving, whilst giving power up high if you want it.
  18. Haha yeah lol. Sounds like it might be worth doing. Mainly because my paint job is far, far from perfect and it will be faster than doing it all by hand. Did any paint crack when you did yours? or did you use a heat gun or the likes to heat it before you rolled them? they seem to look pretty good in your photos, so I thought I'd just check if anything went wrong when you did them.
  19. Ahh damn! Yeah well, I was going to roll the inner lip but I guess while I'm at it I should just try and pump them out a little bit for some more room. Might look into getting some of those Bridgestone RE001s as from what I've been reading, they seem to be a pretty good tire in relation to grip/price ratio. And they come in a 195/50/15 so they do have the size I need. Just out of interest Adam, did you flare your rear guards by hand (hammer and dolly) or the ol' pole between the wheel and guard? Seriously considering using the pole method if it works effectively  Would be a crap load easier too.
  20. Ahh okay, I guess you're very lucky that you got let off! I guess you could always pump your guards out a little bit more to cover the wheels to save ever getting done for that reason again  yeah, yeah, lol. Need to get the car back from the guys setting the carbs up properly first. Then I'll have them on...hopefully without any scrubbing issues. I've had my mates 16x8 watanabes on the rear before and they didnt foul on anything, but they were also a fairly positive offset (+30 I think) so should be interesting how mine go. With a light roll, they should be fine. Anybody have any recommendations with tyres? I can't say I've ever looked into new tyres at all, and I guess my options are also pretty limited by the size of my wheels. Would a 205/50 should be a nice fit for an 8.5" rim? I don't want the super stretched look so I'm guessing that a 205 should sit pretty close to the edge of the rim? Any suggestions are welcome as I know sfa about tyres.
  21. Was worth another try  Damn, you got defected in the KE? That sucks. Anything major or just something little like wheel widths? Hope that you don't cop any more, last thing I want to see is your car being parted out. But yeah, am still interested in the fronts, but I'm in no hurry so I'm sure that I'll be able to find some well before you decide to sell yours :)
  22. Ha yeah I've measured them properly. Checked them when I first got them out of the box just to make sure they were the size and offset stated. But yeah scored a half inch so that is a small bonus for having to wait so long for them  just need a front pair now...Wanna sell me yours?
  23. I'd say you'd be much better lifting it out as one, then putting it back in as one. Much easier to line the bellhousing/clutch up on the ground then then trying to do it on your back under the car. with an engine crane you and a mate should easily be able to get it out and in within half a days work. I'd even remove the bonnet for the sake of only have to undo 4 bolts. Will make it a little bit easier to see what you are doing and give a bit more room to manoeuvre. And a little note: Make sure you remove the shifter before you start pulling the engine and box out! :P
  24. Haha I know how to be patient :P *Hints to thread name* Yeah unfortunately as soon as widths go greater than 7" wide and offsets go less than +15, prices tend to skyrocket. :D But I will just keep my eye out, and see what actually pops up and when.
  25. Been watching SBS late at night lately? :P I'd probably do a similar sort of thing but head to the airport or something and fly my self out of there in a Cessna or something. I can't actually fly, but if in the strange event that zombies did actually come, I'd probably take my chances. :D
