^^Hahah so true. I had a pizza and a few beers and watched TV. Much cheaper than spending money on a missus. :P

Looks a hell of a lot better with the SSRs on the car. I think a set of chrome bars would also go really well on this with the purple colour scheme. The knocking noise, does it come from the front? If so, could be that the shock gland nut thing has loosened and the shock insert is clunking around inside the strut tube. Pretty common thing to happen.

For someone just starting a drift car and on a budget, $50 for slightly longer LCAs that are a direct bolt in is a much better option than spending $150-300 on camber plates and $300+ for new front rims, both of which do the same thing. Why is it "dodgy" anyway? Maybe for Sigma LCAs which are stupidly long and require the castor rod mount holes to be redrilled, but for the Corona ones, I can't see why it is dodgy. Very much agree on the SSR Mesh for this. Would look very tidy with a fresh set with silver centres

4AFE is pointless as others have said. Much easier to just go 4AGE for half the effort and twice the gains. You have an AE71 already, so 90% of the conversion is already done for you. Just find a GE, set up the efi fuel system and get it wired up.

LCA = Lower control arm. Basically, if you replace the standard length ones with longer items, ie Corona, the base of the strut will be sitting out further than it was, thus increasing track and creating negative camber. If you go the longer LCAs, you'll need to adjust the tie rods out to make up for the increased track, so make sure you book in for a wheel alignment :) The LCA is the length of metal running from the strut base to the car underbody. If the AE86 struts have them, they are useless to you as they are no longer than the standard AE71 ones so no point at all using them. Try the wreckers for a pair of Corona ones if you want them. Last time I was at Fernleigh Rd Wreckers there were a couple of XT130's one of which I took my pair from. Yeah didn't even realise you were in Wagga until you mentioned it. Once I get my car back a cruise may be on the cards. Edit: Just out of curiosity, how long have you been cruising around Wagga in the AE? Don't think I've seen it around at all.

You know it brother :)

People who feel the need to say the word "aye" following each sentence of their posts. Just so annoying to read aye.

I Lol'd  If you want a better setup (that is, after you get some decent wheels) you're on the right track with the new struts. This will give you a much, much wider variety to the choice of decent shock inserts you will be able to choose from, aswell as open up options for future break upgrades. Start with new shocks front and rear, and some springs with the correct spring rate to match the shocks. Front wise, depending on your ride height, I'd say a standard length replacement AE86 insert should be ok with a 6-7kg/mm spring. If you end up going too low though, you'll need to look into a shorter stroke insert and section the strut tube accordingly. As for rear, looking at your photo, I'd say go with some new KYB Commodore wagon shocks (good value for money) and a 4-5kg/mm spring. Part number is 343113 IIRC for the rear shock. If you get the AE86 struts in, try and find some XT130 Corona LCAs as well as they will give you a little bit of neg camber and track at the front. Roughly about the 1 - 2º neg camber and i think about a 20mm o/all track increase, which is all you will really need if the car is also a streeter. Plus they are a straight bolt in so while you have the struts out, make the most of itand do them at the same time. That is really all you need to get a bit of a "drift" setup happening. Maybe some thicker sway bars would be the next option down the track but the above setup should suffice if your just getting into it. Lock spacers or power-steering arms...meh, each to their own. Not really necessary. As for coilovers and camber plates, they are more a wank factor to most people and not a necessity for someone just starting out. Ideally you can combine them with better adjustable shocks to tune the handleing of the car for each particular track your on, but for 90% of people, they will just slam them as low as they can go and dial in as much negative camber they can and never change them. Good luck with it all. Atleast your doing the right thing and moving away from the 18" chrome life. :)

How Do U Remove Ke70 Contol Arms ????
bLinded_ replied to aaron001au's topic in KExx Corolla Discussion
I removed mine w/out backing off the castor rods and didnt really have any trouble when intsalling the Corona arms. Deffinately will need to get a wheel allignment though if you do any mucking around with LCAs ie. Changing lengths. -
Currently 35º here now. Tomorrow (Today) is predicted to be 45º

Rephrase: On a one of try of it, which most people do in life, it isn't going to do a thing to you and make you suddenly be admitted to a psych ward. Sure for the people out there that don't stop and go out and get high 3 times a day, each day, for weeks/months/years then yes it will do you damage. Same goes for cigarettes, alcohol, or any other drug. If you abuse your body with any foreign material, it will cause damage. For a first time experiment of a drug, safe to say most people would prefer to have a few draws from a joint than say, take some man-made, chemical based drug made in some random guys back shed. I'm going to take a stab here and say your friend/sibling/relative didn't end up in rehab from 1 joint. Way to take a small thing and blow it out of context.

Nether have I lol... Though, that being said, after watching Merrick and Rosso unveil their "Kebab in a Can", I did feel somewhat inclined to try it. Still havn'd done it, but I don't think that a blended kebab with some beer to thin it down would be too bad? -
For me, I couldn't give a hoot if he smokes some pot in his private time. If he was shooting Heroin or something like that, then sure, make a big deal of it, but like 70% of people experience marijuana at least once in their life time and it is a pretty safe drug etc. Wouldn't have affected any of the people who "look up to him" if the media didn't make such a big deal of it :D

Hell of a lot of PRE drinks for a Tuesday night :P I take it no work today?

Nice write up on the stem seal changing. Should get one of the Mods to throw it in the FAQ so it is easier for other users to find for future reference. Great work :P

1) Cats are awesome. Infact I'd go as far to say cats > dogs :y: 2) Very nice Evo 13BT KE20. Bet you wish you had it for longer than just the weekend.

40º Yesterday. 42º Today and 43º expected Tomorrow. I think we are supposed to get even hotter temperatures over the weekend aswell...all just dry heat aswell, which makes it really not fun to be working in a big tin shed all day.

I am unsure about which brands to go for, but if you wanted to, you can always make your own from bare 86 struts. Coilover kits are had pretty cheap and only take like 30minutes to make (if you have the gear.) With some decent shocks, they will do the same job as any premade, brand name coilovers.

K+N gauze filters. Fits in fine in a KE70. I think they are about 60mm tall, but I can measure when I get home.

Thanks, fixed now :P

Stig revealed? Not sure if there is a thread about this yet, but I hope that it is only a hoax :P
