looking good I'm picking my motor that i just brought with the bigport stuff on it tomorrow then taking it down to aust jap motor for the guy to have a good look at it and fix it right up so its like brand new the come home and paint it all out i hope then put it all back together.. whats left for you to do?....

ok quick update i brought a motor witch had a bigport head and manifold on it for $75.00 so I'm happy I'm going to give it a reco and what ever needs fixing on it to be fixed and I'm going to give it a face and then wack it on. car: ive striped it right out trying to get it light buy trimming back stuff taking out what ever it unneccereay off and then paint it. I'm going to order new panals soon. pics up in the next day or so

there should be a hook on the block near 4th cylinder on the dizzy side and there should be one on the head at the frount on the manifold side

the tools that you will need are a spanner set, socket set, screw driver, scraper, torque wrench and feeler gaugers 1) is to undo your header bolts 2) undo your fuel line 3) take you dizzy out so when you lift it off you don't damage it 4) take push rods out 5) undo head bolts 6) make sure everything to the head and manifold are off 7) take it off 8) scrap off old gasket and clean it up 9) put new gasket on and if you want to use the glue stuff put it on 10) put the head back on and torque it up to setting on the packet 11) put the push rods back in and do the clearences 20thou and 30thou (inlet) (exhaust) 12) put dizzy in 13) put fule line on to the carbie 14) bolt on your header -

don't sell it. my bottom end cost me around $400 so far bored out honed new bearings new pistons ect and the top end will cost me about another 300 just rebuild your motor that my say anywhay but i don't know what your wallet is like so i can't really say. but you should keep it and just park it like Budowski said and wait a bit and get a money tin and save up like me max

yea your probley right.. it stuff you around when you have different pumps you pick out the best one and it doesnt fit

time for an update: well to do i cleand up the oil pump and cheaked the gaps and stuff it was all good so i put it in and cleand the rear main seal thingy put the seal in ans put it on and then put the sump on so now the bottom end is done now just after a bigport head asap

i don't have a clue all i know is that i have 3 3k motors striped and that there are two different oil pick up and ones fatter than the other.. plus i have never striped a 4k... sorry

hey these are for people that don't know about them. i am building a 3k motor and got up to putting in the oil pick up looked for the best one then cleaned it up and went to put it in but didnt fit and i was like what the f##k look at it and worked out to big and i was pissed so i got the different one and it fitted and worked out ones fatter than the other. here are some pics

Just incase you want your cam ground i got mine done by Chris at C and M Engines at Smithfield. Cost was only $135 and it only took 2 days for him to do it. allright today i got stuck into my motor i got the rods the same weight and the pistons were the same weight witch help and i got the crankshaft in pistons and cam the timing chain and the timing cover now i just need to buy two welch plug and put them in and put a shim in the oil stuff to get more pressure and put all that in and put the sump on then ill have a bottom end then start working on the top end. i can't do anymore tomorrow as i have to go out all day tomorrow so yea that sucks.

ok today i pick up my block i got it bored out 60thou face shaved cam bearings pressed in and cleaned up. and on the weekend I'm going to put it all together. and i might be going to run a standed cam heavy duty springs a 2.220 second gear gearbox with a 4.4banjo gearbox here are some pics of it.

made an engine stand on the weekend and started to paint the rollcage but ran out of paint so need to mix up some more and get some more thinners so yea. MOTOR wise block currently in the work shop getting bored out 60thou getting a good wash and getting the cam bearing pressed and hes cleaning up the crank. ive got a full acl gasket set acl cam bearings acl main and rod bearings and mahle pistons rings and gudgon pins and a timing chain. tomorrow I'm going to put a shim in the oil pump to get more pressure pick up the block paint it blue put the breaings in crank pistons then when i find out a good cam grind ill take the cam down to get regind then wack that in then finish of the bottom end. then start working on the top end. new pics up tomorrow

i was only joking. like chumps said first meeting take it easy and if you have any problems ask any of the people there all friendly and will help you and the only way youll get faster out there is to follw the faster car in frount of you and copy there line and to ask all the other people out there how can i get faster so yea just giveing you a few hints

yeah i know ive made a list in my book 3pg's full of stuff but hopefully it will go faster and are you in sa. plus i my paint jobs is cheap as my dad use to be a spary painter and we have shelfs full of paint so yea. do you paint your own car
