Ah okay, thanks mate, Do you know wether anyone stocks superlow struts for KE3X series corolla's?
-
Thanks Trev, nah they are just standard struts.. should i have got lowered ones? Cheers for that mate, Trent

hey guys, well i got some superlow ke30 king springs and monroe GT gas shocks about 6 months ago, Took the whole strut out and took it into a suspension place to get them all installed, put back in car and it was fine, now 6 months later on the front gas cartridges are completely shot.. like the car bottems out everywhere and it just bounces all over the road, also took the car into bob jane and he said the struts are f@$ked.. I'm ringing up monroe soon and sorting this out, but what i wanted to know was what have caused them to go like this so soon?, i thought struts lasted longer then this, and btw this car is just a daily driver not a rally car or something lol.. so anyone got any suggestions?, Cheers, Trent-KE30..

Thanks MRMOPARMAN!, I'am going to try and drill the holes out a little bit so the cable can slide through there, will let you know how i go!

Then on the weekend i decided to replace the shagged diff with a banjo, was quite easier than i thought, with no previous diff experience i was pretty pleased with myself :).. New banjo in and painted! Yes I do realise I lost the rear swaybar :D.. All that's left to do is put the handbrake cables in and bleed the brakes.. :D Also I'm chasing a early rear KE55 bumper bar so let me know if you have one!.. That's about it for now, ill keep you updated!

Hey guys, Had this car for nearly 2 years now, and finally gotten around to finally doing some work to it, plans are to get it on the road and use it as a daily while i work on my red KE30.. It currently needs the following for rego.. -Front Windscreen (got one, need to put in) -Diff, old one was whining, (put a banjo in there) -Rust around the wheel arches, (all fibreglassed up and resprayed) -General clean up.. Plans are.. -Lower it -2" exhaust -Venetians :D -Spray the rims black, and keep the chrome dress ring.. :) When I got the car the first thing i did was replace the square headlights with round ones, ( there is a thread already made about that).. And gave it a oil change and major service.. Here are some pics of when i got it... Here's what she looks like now.. Cheers Trent

newb question, but how hard is that to do?, do i have to take the axels out?,
-
Okay guys, Got the banjo diff in on the weekend, but one little problem the handbrake line is too big and it won't slide into the banjo drum, did anybody else have this problem?, apart from that it all worked out sweet!, will get pics up soon.. Cheers Trent

I did this today, got a 81' KE55 with the ugly taillights, went and got some really overrated KE30 ones, they are a bolt up, just plug and play!, and away you go!, Cheers Trent
-
Considering both corolla's have K motors everything should be direct swap.. Just put the pedal box etc into the KE30 and the centre console out of the KE55 in there as well and it should be sweet.. If you have basic mechanical knowledge and a few tools this is quite an easy job! Let us know how you go.. Cheers Trent
-
Righto thanks Rolla Boy :y:, Am going to tackle it this weekend, will let you all know how i go!, Cheers
-
Oh cool!, Sounds like its coming along good!, Aww sucks about that clutch fork.. You got your work cut out for you lol :y: Cheers Raven Love_KE70, I had a vague idea what it was if you read the first post... And where i am Tamworth NSW, i miss out on the TAFE Engine rebuilding course, closest one is in Newcastle, So i do Fitting/Machining and don't learn the basics about motors etc, because its mostly lathe and mill work.. And at work I got put on the machines, eg.. I grind/polish cranks, resize/recondition conrods, I got books and stuff to read but i'am too flat out lol...

Yeah was seriously considering doing a turbo 4K as a side project, Might still do it soon!.. I gotta get off my P's first before I can drive one lol. damn nsw laws.. How's that pano coming along man? Cheers

Oh ok, i knew it had something to do with worn rings.. I'm a 3rd yr apprentice at a engine rebuilder so i will get it out and take it in and rebuild it! Thanks Guys :y: Oh also there is an awful lot of oil coming out of the spark plug holes, i think its pushing its way out of the head.. I think i might put my old 3K back in it..
-
Aight, So just use my old KE30 tailshaft with the banjo and she should be sweet!, Thanks Raven!

Hey Guys, got a KE55 with a shagged diff, but got a parts KE30 with a great diff, the KE30 has the older banjo type diff and the KE55 has the borg warner. Question at hand is will the KE30 Banjo diff bolt into my KE55 without changing much? Any help will be much appreciated, Cheeers Trent :)

Hey guys, just been observing my corolla of late, and its got an awful lot of blow by, like when you follow me it smells like oil :D And the breather out of the rocker cover has got a bit of steamy/smoke coming out of it, btw its a 4K. Hey guys nearly getting my KE55 blue slipped, one thing that's on my mind is the diff, does anybody know wether a whining diff is not legal, I'm talking loud whining like real bad lol, Trent :)

Just read through the whole thing man, great work i'll be staying hooked for this one, on the subject on faded paint, I did some rust repairs to my KE55 on the weekend and the PPG paint i got for that out of a can matched pretty good, and there is hardly a difference, so you'd certainly be suprised in some cases, Cheers man and love the hard work! keep it up

It's a KE55 and the fuel tank takes about 15 minutes to take out
