  7. Hmm good point you make Felix, Thanks Superjamie i was just making sure :unsure: its just that the discs on there now have just been reground and new pads. With grinding some of the caliper away, my old man mentioned that will it still be road worthy? do they check things like that? Cheers Trent

  11. Thanks Kangaroos, That's what i have on mine Sumitomo's, And i take it Nick that girlocks are found on Ke55's too right? Cheers ill let you know how the conversion goes.
  12. So the girlock calipers came standard with Late KE55's/KE70's? If so they bolt straight onto the KE30 discs? If not would it be safe to just shave a bit of the useless metal off the caliper, it only needs an 8mm cleareance or there abouts to spin, But i might just try swapping the calipers over, I'll let you all know how i go, and thanks for the replys, i havn't received 1 on toymods yet :jamie: Cheers Trent

Yep i brought some hotwires off miller on these forums and they fit on the back fine, but need 8mm spacer on the front to clear the caliper, now his car must be a KE55 Coupe, or it has KE55 disc conversion, because i just went out to my 81 KE55 then and put the wheel on the front and it spins freely, so i was thinking can i just put the caliper off the KE55 onto my KE30? Hope that made sense, Trent

  20. Yes superjamie i am. I am still in possession of a 81 KE55E and 75 KE30 and this one. I have gotten rid of the corona and 1 of the crowns. Cheers and thanks for the comments. Trent

Hey guys, well i have been trawling these forums for a long time as they provide a valuable source of info about corolla's , I brought this car in May this year for $500 off a 60yr old lady who had owned it for the last 15yrs, it had the pink slip done (dodgey will get to it later) all it needed was a renewal and insurance cost me $800 all up. So i drove it around for a while (still on L's) and then one day i decided i'd take the wheels off it and clean them, while they were off i thought i'd check the disc pads and shoes. And what a fright i got, it was metal on metal on the front and there was 1mm of shoe left on the rears, and they passed it? dodgy bastards. So $200 odd bucks later i had machined hubs (they were like tram tracks) new pads and shoes. Before i had purchased the car it had a couple of slight dings in both front guards and bumpers were worse for wear, (currently sent away for restraightening and rechroming). I also put a Pioneer CD player in it and 6x9 speakers so i could listen to my old school 80's tracks. I had to make custom speaker spacers for it as well and cut out the holes a bit bigger in the parcel shelf, and i decided that if i was going to do a job properly i might as well take out the back window (seal needed replacing anyway). I also put a autotecnica steering wheel on it as the old steering wheel had seen better days $170 With boss and wheel. One day me and old man decided to check under the front bottem guards as this is a common place for 30 Series to rust, checked it out lucky we got to it quickly as there was wet leaves etc down there, cleaned it all out and put some black tar spray shit in there and fish oil (made the car smell like shit for days). Mechanically wise its A-1 doesn't blow any smoke, dropped the oil in it and put some decent penrite in it and got some top gun ignition leads. Planned Mods. Get front guards off KE55 (Same i presume) respray them. Remove tiny amount of rust around fuel filler cup. 2" Exhaust K-50 And then some decent wheels, most likely old school hotwires or superlites.   22. I've ran both my KE30's on ULP for a while now without the fuel additive and they seem to be fine. No pinging or overheating :P My old mans VH commodore stock 202 was pinging for a while and he just put some octane booster in and it seemed to have fixed it hope this helps Cheers Trent
