  1. Wow thank you very much for the electrical diagrams! Though I was hoping if there exists a pinout for the socket connectors to leave out the guesswork, but this will do. I just need to pray now that hopefully the wires are the same colors. Yes this is a pinoy "jeep". More specifically "owner type" (private use) - these are small versions compared to the standard "jeepney" which are more truck like for public transport.
  2. Hello, my car uses a steering column assembly from I believe a KE70. Not sure which variant, but it was imported from japan, and has the wiper stalk on the left, and the turn signals stalk on the right. The wiper motor is not receiving any voltage, and I also need to fix some electrical gremlins on the headlights switching. I am looking if anyone got a pinout diagram for the wiring harness at the bottom for this steering wheel. Pictures for reference:
  3. In the video link I posted, it's the momentary high pitch metal sounds (happens when the meter reads 350). Almost sounds like loose bolts, or grinding metal? I never really ran this enigne at high speeds, and I mostly keep rpms below 3000, most I think is 50 kph. The "noise" that I am concerned isn't really audible at least when I'm in the cabin. The video doesn't quite catch it, but it's quite jarring to hear when revving the engine with the hood up. I don't recall that "noise" being present before though, so I am worried something might be getting loose. I was suspecting valve clearences, since the shade tree mechanic did the tappet clearances maybe 2 years ago, and I don't know what feeler gauges settings he did.
  4. I got a 4K-U engine, and I need help identifying what might be the problem, as the engine makes this noise which sounds like coming from high up the engine, in the valve cover area. This noise is only noticeable when revving aggressively to high rpms, but when driving normally, I don't hear it from the vehicle cabin (or it might still be making noises, just not audible inside the cabin). aggressively revving to 3500 rpms Here is how it sounds like in normal conditions under 3000 rpms Rpms is meter reading x10 The oil was newly replaced, and I have been using the same 20W-40 oil that I have been using on this car all the time.
  5. I found someone in facebook group do a 5afe. It's a tight fit, especially with the air intake and distributer being too close to the firewall (maintenance will be a pain), but seems doable.
  6. Hello, my name is Chris and I live in the Philippines. Over here, we have what we call owner type jeeps (OTJ) - jeep replicas with stainless steel bodies, and basically a hodgepodge of random parts - from engine, to wheel hubs, etc. I own one with a 4k-u engine and k40 tranny. I am thinking of building a new one, and what I have in mind is 4AFE - as these came on the top-spec E100 corollas locally, so parts would be plentiful. My question is, would a T50 tranny mate with a 4AFE engine? How friendly are these engines to tuning, can I expect a modern laptop to interface with the ecu easily? Going for 4AGE is not an option, because it is hard to find, and relatively expensive.
