Can be done using any model 3s but the altezza beams RWD one is alot easier. The 3SGE has all the bolt holes for engine mounts (i know my mr2 gen2 3s does) so it would just be straight forward with engine mounts. A 4y or 2s bell housing mates it up to a W5* gearbox then a cross memner will need to be made for that. Then the intake manifold needs to be modded as the throttle is facing the wrong way and at a guess the maniolfd is too tall and will foul on a few things. I'm doing this into a KE70 at the moment. I'm using a gen2 3s from an mr2. I already have a modded intake manifold using silver top 20v throttles. I have a 4y bellhousing. Ill be doing a write up as i go along as how I did it all.

The XF falcon setup can be mabe to work but you need to start with the stock map sensor. I haven't looked into it any further as its too much money, time and effort when i can get better performance from EFI. I was only looking into it as a cheap way out. Even with the sigma dizzy its still going to take alot of effort with dynoing and dizzy recurving and shit. It would be alot harder to recurve it as i am planning to run after market cams aswell.

4ac=different 4AGE=SAME :D The 4AGE and 4AGZE both have th same timing gear. The belts are the same. Cam gears and crank gears are all the same. The only one that is different is a 20V

Cheers dude ill let you know

Ok i have found a guy on 86dc that is selling twin webers with a dizzy. He reacons its a sigma dizzy. I thought that the internals had to be swapped but going by the picture it looks like a stock sigma one. I might head down to u-steal-it tomorrow and see what i can find out. EDIT: Hands off people the dizzy is mine if hes seperating.......

Ive got the choice of twin solex or dellortos both 40's. Can get either one for anout $100 for the pair and can get a HKS twin carb manifold for about another $100 with linkage kit. I have been talking with my boss at work today (I'm an apprentice mechanic) and he thinks there might be a modual that you can wire up to the stock dizzy and use a map senor to give it then advance. Works the same way as the XF falcons do on the carb'd modles. I need the advance as i will be running some sort of cams. Hence the reason why it will be cheaper. I don't wanna have to spend $2000 on an aftermarket ECU i'd perfer to spend that on my 86. The manga dizzy's do work but still don't give any advance as you have to swap the internals over to the 4AGE dizzy. I was told about that one by a guy that ran twin 45 webers on a 20v. Ill let you guys know how the XF falcon style goes after i have done some more research on it. Ill will be ringing up are EFI parts people through work and they will be able to give me some ideas. Cheers Craig PS: Raven i was going to steal a 4AC dizzy from u-steal-it and see if it fits
-
Thanks boys but i need some sort of advance. Its going to be daliy driven.

Hey guys, I will be building up a 4AGE running twin carbs for something different and also for the fact that i can get the carbs cheaper then a new inlet manifold with the acc.. Now my question is does anyone now what dizzy to run with this?? I tried searching all the forums ie toymods, rollaclub, 86dc... Or even better does anyone know of a stand alone ECU that only controls the spark and not the EFI??? Any help would be good Thanks in advance Craig Edit: I was think of using the stock ECU to control the spark and advance but i didnt know if this would work. So i would wire it up to just the dizzy and not any fuel injectors. Someone know if this will work??

The ignitors on the AE92 loom have 2 constant powers going to them. Ones for the ignitor and the other for the coil pack... The 3 black wires what side of the plug are they on?? Loom side or ignitor side?? I'm guessing ignitor side. If thats correct they most proberly will be tacho output, earth, a wire that goes back to the ECU (i can't remember what its called off the top of my head as ive only had 2 hours sleep in the last 2 days)
-
Earths on the 4AGE looms are normally brown. I can't remember off the top of my head. Edit: Now that i think about it i think that the ignitors are earth through their mounts. So if its not bolted down it wont be earthed.

Hey dude Every one seems to have this problem when i come across them.... First off the Black/White wire should be got to the starter motor wire (the black/white wire that goes on to the starter solenoid). That wire gives the ECU the signal that the motor is cranking.... The Black/Orange wire should be connected to the ignition switch. Use a LED test lamp to find the wire that only has power when the dash lights are on. Now the Black/Red need to be connected to a EFI main relay. This powers up the ECU when the ignition is switched on... What i normally do is put the Black/Red and Black/Orange wire together on the EFI main relay as i don't like to run the Black/Orange straight off the ignition switch. Easiest way to do this is find that power wire on the ignition switch (power when dash lights are on eg alternator warning light, handbrake light etc) join a length of wire into that and run it to where the EFI main relay will be. Use this wire as the switch power to turn the relay on. Then have a another wire that is fused coming straight from the battery to the relay to supply power to the Black/Red and Black/Orange wires. Now how to wire a relay....All the pins are numbered. On a normal 4 pin relay. Theres pin #85, #86, #30 and #87 (on a 5 pin relay there will be pin #87a but you only need a 4 pin relay) Pin #85-Wire from ignition switch (this switches the relay on) Pin #86-Wire straight to earth (on to any metal part of the body) Pin#30-Fused wired straight from battery (run at least a 15amp fuse in it) Pin #87- Wire Black/Red and Black/Orange (when relay is switched on it should have 12v or battery voltage there) If you have anymore problems just ask. Have You Seen A Ke70 Like This Before???
Craig_ae8670 replied to JiP's topic in Automotive Discussion
Its a jap import for sure. Its not the DX model i don't think. The DX model had the quad headlights and tacho dash. This muct be like a CS model or something like that -
The RA65 struts maybe the same in daimeter as an 86 one but the axle spindle angle is very different. I had 2.5degrees neg camber before the sigma arms. Alot of poeple on 86dc i think it was tried this setup and thought it was shit and went back to a coilover on an 86 strut. The angle the axle screws around with the geometry too much and it cannot be fixed. I use AVS suspension here in adelaide for all my wheel alignments and he hated this setup. Even but using the sigme control arms the camber was corrected but because of the ball joint tapper on the sigma bottom ball joint it doesnt fit the ke70,ae71 or ae86 steering knuckle properly. But this is all in my opinnion
-
The RA65 also give MASSIVE amounts of pos camber.... Pos camber for the lose.. I had them in my 86 and it handle like shit. I put sigma lca's on and got 1.8neg camber but still handle like shit. Plus the sway sits on the bottom of the strut. There are better pads out there for the 86 brakes aswell. I have lucas pads in mine and they are rated to 650 degrees plus. They are a very cheap pad. I can get them through work for about $120 If you go coilovers you would go to a heavier spring so it doesnt move much. Mine doesnt move when i get in it and I'm pretty heavey.... But sway bars also help out there. If you just want it dropped a bit more go to industrail springs and get some custom ones made up. Alot easier then changing struts and shit. I'm pretty theres someone out there that make camber tops for the stock ke70 strut so that could be an easy way of getting neg camber.
-
If you go for hieght adjustables it will be pretty low. If you remember my car my coils are about 1cm lower then max hieght. So they sit pretty low. Also if you go to coilovers you have to go to 86 struts. On the added side of going to 86 struts you get the brake up grade Craig

Another option for ya dan.... Black wrinkle paint with white writing or red writing

The rust has probably just caught one of the rings and broken it and caused a loss in compression.... Nothing a light hone or over bore wont fix. Doing it the light hone way you may get away with the same pistons and just need new rings etc but if you choose the over bore option new pistons can be had from toyota brand new. Most people including myself have only gone to 1mm (40thou) over bore as there is no need to go any more and I'm pretty the walls become too thin after 1mm. If you feel the need to get a new block anything from the 100kw small port will fit including the bigport GZE. The ST and BT 20V's have the same block and crank aswell. Cheers Craig
