  1. Back in my ke70 days i used the same stuff in gbox and diff, stinky bloody gear oil. Don't think it makes much difference. Argentina hey, where abouts?
  2. Don't over think it. I usually just consult the penrite oil product guide when looking at oils. 80w90 seems to be the go. Any brand you like. These days I generally just buy a brand name that is on special. Reality is any "Mineral manual gear oil" will do the trick. They all smell just as bad in gear oil
  3. Where did the rumours come from? And why would you want to do it anyway? I doubt it. measure between the trailing arm mounts, the spring mounts and the shock absorber mounts. Id almost guarantee you'd have to cut and re-weld all of them. And the tailshaft will need probably need to be modified to work as well.
  4. Angry kp61.
  5. WOAH! nice work! The CA does not get alot of love. Good to see someone using one.
  6. Yeah that'll work. Did it a few yrs ago. The best part about doing what you are doing is that you have two of every part (your old car, and your new car), so you can put the better part on in every circumstance. Tedious though, unbolting and bolting on OEM shit is not exactly fun.... I cant rememebr all the specs but i thought the SX corolla had alot of good bits over the CSi, so i think youll end up swapping basically the entire car, pending how far you wanna go of course. We did did the same thing years ago with an SX ST162 celica. Had the lower model 3sfe car, and we got a smashed sx car with the 3sge engine. Swapped the lot. Hell of a lot of work!
  7. For a second I thought you had bought another whole ae86!
  8. I'd just go to the wreckers and find the smallest charcoal canister you can find off a modern car. Cost you not much. Bolt it in, connect it up to the pipe there and the other pipe to vacuum and you are done.
  9. This is sort of case of big engine with enough "car" to enable propolsion. I fear it will have similar driving characteristics to a fire cracker.
  10. Well that was a surprise! That car looks freakin awesome. Well done.
  11. Great Projects. we're gonna need much higher quality photos of that dato ute! i'd love one of them.
  12. yah happend on my old corolla too. I never bothered but if i was gonna do it id probably look at sikaflex as a solution. The real black shitty stuff that WILL get everywhere. (not cheap "silicon" from bunnings) I think youd want to be careful forcing the two together cause you might end up with a slight dent in the bonnet.
  13. Its hard to beat the kick up of the rear window on a ke25.
  14. How fast did it go?
  15. I think there are still some good forums out there ticking along, i've got an E30 bmw at the moment, r3vlimited forum is pretty popular. 95% american based, but still pretty good. I tried the faceballs groups for e30s, bunch of morons on there. Great looking corolla up there:)
  16. hey now thats a good idea. The thing that always goes first on socket sets is that annoying plastic insert inside the case. Maybe ill do what you did to my sidchrome set.
  17. Nice progress, Did you need the crane ASAP then? I'm in lismore this weekend, I am coming home saturady night, unsure if i can get it to you on Sunday. Is next weekend 5th ok?
  18. Been following mate, love the trumpets and the dyno results. In my dreams i am planning a similiar setup for my bmw. But I've gotta get the megasquirt running first! One of these weekends ill have to come for a visit. I Still have that engine crane too. Dragged its sorry ass to my new house last year, and its right up the back of the shed now!
  19. Rear trailing arm bushes and pan hard rod bushes I would insect. What you describe sounds like something is broken.....
  20. Don't over think it. whatever the manual says grade wise, and whatever brand name oil is on special at the time. and change it every 6000ish km. For years i bought penrite oil. for no other reason than Dad always bought Penrite oil. And he bought Penrite cause his dad bought penrite oil. Then one day i bought shell or something cheap (but something brand name ish, around the $30 mark, not $60 penrite). And my engine didn't explode. So i kept buying the cheap oil. Years later, no engine explosions and plenty of spare cash.
  21. probably not as the t50 transmission bolts straight up. Unsure about the clutch, flywheel, starter motor, pilot bearing though. But having a gearbox that bolts on will be 3/4 of your battle. Sam Q knows things, and in here he suggests the flyhweel on the 4afe will work with the t50..
  22. wowzer, talk about a project.
  23. A Wagon has leaf springs. So rather than adapting the spring perches for the ke70 you would need to adapt the leaf springs, which might actually be easier as don't leaf springs just get held on with big u-bolts?
  24. Rear wheels look like they stick out a bit! Other than that looks awesome . Love the mud flaps. 7k fuel injected is a cool conversion. How does it go?
