  1. Yeah I have heard of one of these in WA (I think?) they are super rare here.
  2. Up to you really but I wouldn't keep it stock just because you think it might become collectable and be worth more if its original. These cars aren't worth that much in comparison to other Japanese cars of a similar vintage like Mazdas and Datsuns etc. You just have to look at the prices a stock ke20 is worth to see potentially what your ke30 may be worth in a few more years. Also being a 4 door it is the least likely model to be sought after. If you would be happy driving around in a stock ke30 then keep it stock. If that's too boring then modify.
  3. Carsales is so overpriced for ke30/55's. There are a couple of stock 30's on there for 10k.
  4. Yes, its crazy. http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/Toyota-Corolla-1977/SSE-AD-2856320/?Cr=14&sdmvc=1
  5. To do it properly (ie engineered, brakes, suspension, diff etc) anything turbo will probably cost you 10k at the end of it. I have heard of people spending that on 4age's. If your on a shoestring budget just get a ca18de and be done with it.
  6. Sr20det or Ca18det
  7. RA60/MA61 calipers and rotors bolt on the front. Cheap and way better than stock.
  8. He is going to use a rb20det gearbox. Will come out in the stock position.
  9. Seems to be a popular thought for people from Victoria. Seriously though why would you want to go to all the trouble/illegalities for a 3.8 VN motor? Put a 1G-GTE into it. Its legal. It makes more power stock and it has potential to make a lot more. Plus its been done HEAPS.
  10. haha yes I have seen it and I could imagine.
  11. Yeah its a very nice drive, whether your going the speed limit or maybe slightly above when there isn't a slow car in front. Its a relaxed atmosphere with lots of different people up there. Not sure what happens up there at night time. Have no problem believing it would get old fast living up there putting up with it all night.
  12. Saw a little white ke10 or 15 sprinter along Creek Road today. Looked awesome.
  13. Yeah R31 Silhouette are one option. Pretty sure there are some SAAB 15inch steel wheels that can be used with some modification. If you want 14's R31/Pintara wheels are much easier to find and look alright.
  14. Those wheels really suit the car. Came up VERY nice.
  15. It all depends how agressive you want to go. You will find people say a wide variety of wheel sizes "fit". However, everyones definition of fitting is different.
  16. He could have started it with a hardtop at least then it would look slightly better. Not really a fan though.
  17. I had a stock ke55 diff behind a 20v silverstop. You can get away with it if you want but it will limit the way you drive. Also I broke one.
  18. I just emailed the guy. Might know soon. Yeah they appear to be. 13's wont fit over my brakes so I couldn't get them even if I wanted!
  19. Yeah I was considering just doing that, didn't really wanna hassle someone unnecessarily who is just trying to sell a car though. Those TRD Tesco wheels are expensive and only come in 13inch.
  20. Definitely the same sort of style. Gives me a good place to start. Cheers.
  21. haha I could only imagine. When I had my 20v ke55 for sale I was getting heaps of swap offers. Mostly commodores. Anyone more knowledgeable than me know what these wheels are?
  22. Any photos of how the boot spoiler turned out? Really like what you have done so far.
  23. Up until recently that would all depend on what state you are in as some were much tougher than others. Now that the NCOP is in (?) I am not sure. However, if your spending a large amount of money it would probably be smart to go speak to someone to discuss the legalities of it before starting.
  24. I wasn't aware that people import these. After the shipping and compliance costs (assuming you have to get compliance in the US) and registration wouldn't it be a very expensive corolla?
  25. Your door isn't new and I doubt there is much supply for a ke70 door. You might get lucky and find someone who needs one at the minute but it will probably take a while to sell.
