  1. How much will a 130hp n/a 4K cost to build and what power would I expect at the rear wheels, and what time could it run?? Ben
  2. Yeah mate I know if you remember I was extremely interested in buying your KE20 when it was for sale but my dad didnt like the idea of me having a rotary in such a light car. Now he wants to help me build a crazy engine of some sort for it. I'm looking into other options as well and will go for the best balance of cost to power. Its a pitty as well as I could've saved a lot of money if I just bought yours. Meh I suppose thats the fun of having a project car. Thanks, Ben.
  3. Love your car Sim, thats pretty much what mine will look like when finished later this year. Anyway mine is Car: 1974 KE20 driveline: 4KC with 32/36 weber, mild cam, extractors, 2 inch exhaust with twin resonators and 3 inch droopy tip. 5 speed manual with heavy duty clutch, 4.3:1 locker. Suspension and brakes: Pedders shocks, I am actually also putting some 1.5 inch lowering blocks in the rear, standard brakes. Wheels and tyres: right now 12x5.5 (i think) Globe rims. Interior: Mostly standard, overrated rear seat (looking for original front seats!!), for now modified Excel front seats retrimmed in original style vinyl and cloth, standard steering wheel etc all good condition, custom centre console, 8 ball gear knob, aftermarket tacho mounted on steering coloumn, Pioneer stereo, fair dark tint (35% i think, would like to remove it and put on venetians like Sims, but for now it can stay), and of course fluffy dice. Body: great condition, need one 20c piece of rust behind the rear wheel fixed and one small dent on the front guard, getting done in a few weeks, all original with a few stickers. If anyone know where I can get some of those chrome side mirrors as mine has the black mirrors on the chrome stands. Also some original front seats if anyone has any or knows of any. And rear and side venetians (in ivory). And the original trim rings (I already have the centre caps but would like some trim rings to finish them off. Thanks, Ben.
  4. why do you say you wished you lived in Adelaide. Is it anymore legal over here??
  5. lol, Its not going to be 'just' a cruiser, as said I would like to take it to AIR when it opens one day for drags and skids. I would also like to have it in a few shows etc, and a rotary KE20 turns heads. Basically it will be a car that I drive when I want to have some fun. Ben.
  6. What sort of 4K could I build with say $1000, considering I already have 32/36 weber, extractors, and 2 inch exhaust with twin resonators? I also already have a 5 speed in with upgraded clutch, and a 4.3:1 locked diff. I would like a cruiser with (hopefully) enough balls to at least keep up with the Commonwhores. thanks, Ben.
  7. Also I have been talking to Henry (KE20ME) about what mods he did to his. I have always wanted a rotary (12A, 13B) in a KE20, and can very likely get parts and/or engine, g/box at mates rates. If any of you want to suggest an engine set up worth considering. I would like 120-130kw at the wheels and it must remain streetable to some extent as after the engine build it will be strictly be a cruiser, sunday driver, and a part time skid/drag toy. I would also prefer to keep an old school theme to it, hence why I'm not leaning towards a 4A-GE. Lets say I have a budget of around $2000-$3000. Thanks, Ben.
  8. I'm in and I'm sure I can drag my mate along with his Rolla. This is the day before Bay to Birdwood too so should be good, with two days cruising. Will have the whitewalls on, the back even more slammed and hopefully new exhaust on by then too.
  9. yeah thats what I'm thinking. I have considered rebuilding a new 4K with full internals, N/A with about 130hp, a supercharged 4K whcih seems like too much money for the power it would get, a 4A-GE but I want to keep it old school, and the 12A or 13B. I like the rotary idea most as for cost/power it would be most effective, but I don't want something completely illegal. Would a 12A be any better??
  10. Hey, a second option instead of putting money into a 4K to get 120 at most kW at the wheels, I am considering a non turbo 13B with RX7 gearbox and custom tailshaft. What is required in terms of parts to get this done and how much would I be looking at price wise. This seems a smarter and more long term option as a non turbo 13B can quite easily make 130rwKW with very minimal mods, qand close to 200rwkW with further mods such as periphal port full internal work. Any help appreciated, Ben.
  11. yeah AW11 sorry. Yeah its an SC12 supercharger. Anyone know anything else?
  12. Hey, just wondering what you guys think of a supercharged 4KC in my KE20. I will be totally rebuilding a 4K soon with full internals, should be a pretty stout engine. But I have had an idea of bolting on a supercharger from an SW20 MR2 as well. What mods would be needed to get the supercharger mounted and how would I go about setting it up etc. I've heard that if you get a 4K with air conditioning you ditch the air con and mount the charger where the air con was. Any help and/or opinions appreciated. Ben.
  13. Any one know anyone that does this in SA? the cutting and painting? Cheers, Ben.

Spotted a hot as stocko mustard yellow KE20 today on North East rd, near TTP. Another example of old men and their cool cars. :y:

  16. Hey guys, I've entered my KE20 into the Bay to Birdwood this year along with my dads XY GT. Just wondering if anyone else on the club has entered or are planning on doing so. Ben.
  17. I will try to get the KE20 out there at all costs. I'll try to drag out the old mans XY GT too. Ben
