I'm not sure of the legalities or anything but have you thought about putting the Surge tank underneath the car to avoid having the battery and the surge tank both in the boot? This would make your boot much neater and more usable as well.

I was one of the previous owners of this car, it's a bit of a slut and has got around a bit lol. I bought it from a guy down here in Melbourne who had bought it from someone in Sydney. I then sold it on to someone who took it back up to Sydney. It's a great little car, it has the mintest interior I have ever seen. It's just the few minor rust spots/dents on the body that let it down. Good luck with the project mate, I hope you turn it into a little weapon. It would make a great sleeper :P Cheers, Brent.

So you can't afford a bigger battery but you can afford a second one and all this other shit to make it a dual battery set up? You shouldn't need an extra battery, even a small one should be sufficient enough unless you have heaps of electronics drawing a lot of power. Maybe the battery you've been using is farked and needs replacing. If your alternator isn't charging why not just get another one from pick a part or a wrecker? A second hand one would be cheaper than a new battery.

What does everyone do about their speedo cable when doing this conversion?? Is it true that the auto speedo cable doesn't fit the manual box? If the cable did fit, would the speedo be inaccurate because of the auto diff?

I really like that colour, the car looks tops. With your turning over problem, you should check the earths on the body as they might not be so good after the engine bay had been painted.

Did you ever find out whether an auto ke30 has a ke70 shifter position or not Taz?? It'd be helpful to know as I'm going to be converting an auto ke30 to manual within the next few days. If not I'll find out when I do the conversion and the answer could be put in to FAQ?

Don't forget a spare tyre and jack. The rest sound pretty good. That's all I took when I picked up a car 2 hours away. I didn't end up needing any of those things lol nothing ever goes wrong with corollas.

I didn't remove the engine or gearbox but I did find an alternative way to drain my engine oil :bash:
