nah, I'm not going to touch the twin headlights as I don't like them all that much. If I was going to change the front-end, I'd go with the KE70 late, like the other one I drive. I think it looks better. And I can't really take it slow as it's in a friends garage because we've got no room for it , and the other one is starting to fall apart (so to speak)

Um... only the AE71 crossmember has the gearbox mount off centre. If you measure the ke70 (AUS), you will find it to be centred. It's just bigger than the Jap model

Well, I started this project a little while ago after picking up a rust-free shell from Trendact. Bloody cheap too. It had NO interior except the dash and steering wheel and door trims. My first plan was to throw a 4age at it. But finances stood in the way of that. Then I was going to freshwn up the 4k (needed a rebuild anyway). But then I found a nice 5k to wack in it. I've been told that it's had a stage 2 cam thrown in, and some head work done. I've already change the box to a k50. I'm going to make a complete custom boot install. And of course a respray. I've also got a spoiler to go thats currently sitting on my other ke70 (daily driver shit-box). Was hoping to have it done by christmas but :P :) :D as luck would have it, I don't earn enough or have enough free time. I have most of the interior now, just need a couple of more bits and pieces

we'll come, bring some mates (rolla_boy can tell u how scary they are) and some snags :P

But you haven't seen it. Front panels aren't straight, lights looks like they point into the trees, it's got terminal cancer. I can crawl under the car without a jack. I can't wind my window up OR down. The gearbox whines. The bonnet looks like it's going to fly up at any moment. But at least the motors good :P (surpriseingly, since I've have driven it for about 400kms without water once. Only did head gaket).

So, with mine being higher than stardard, what does that do to baby Jesus? Make him throw a tanty tamtrum?

What? A lot of grunting and swearing? I got that far. My ke70 has nothing as a roof lining at the moment. I not keen on the wreakers here, they overcharge by about an arm and a leg, sometimes a kidney

yeah the trimmer said his window guy charges $75 but we can get them done for $70, it has no roof lining to remove so the arent charging for that, we have the foam and a rough pattern for the roof lining (none of them knew how to do it!) we had to cut the metal bars, no idea how they come out, so we'll have to get replacement ones of them too, but I know a dude at a wrecker who should be able to get me them. if the screens and material I do myself it should be closer to the 100 mark right?

Pulled one apart today to get a rough idea. Where can we get the metal bar thingy's from? ke20man - recon you could make me one and I can pick it up over easter when I'm down? :) People here are saying $450 - $550 I perfer your $150 but is that for ke70 a well? AMY.

The supercharger and turbocharger may be able to pump and boost that much air, but do you really think that VW would do that? Most car tuners will boast when they have bolted together an engine that is capable of taking 2.0bar of boost. And if they VW was releasing an engine that does boost that high, wouldn't the power figures be more around the 200-250kw range. Holden's supercharged V6 gained only 24kw with 3psi of boost. So if VW is pumping 26.5psi through the supercharger and 36psi through the turbo, than I'd hate to have the gutless atmo version
