And yes, I do realise it is a corolla forum, but I was thinking of putting one in my ke70. but if you do the same to a larger engine as you do to a small engine, you can make a crap load more power/torque. Why does it seem that everyone has something against commodore v6's? Everytime I see it mentioned, someone comes out and bags them, why? They're not a bad engine considering they're based on a 40-odd year old design

Yes, it is an RT80. I had one, and everything looks the same. And I can vouch for their robustness, I couldnt kill mine, no matter how much I tried in the bush. Thanks for the intereting articles

Hi. The names Phil. Moved to canberra earlier this year, found this site a while ago. Um.....I think it's great. Haven't had much chances to get out so I know anyone here (apart from the knobs I work with). I work in a factory in Fyshwick making vinyl wrapped kitchen and vanity doors. www.duratechindustries.com.au. I drive a ke-70 late (ae-71 front end) thats completly stock. It goes alright for what it is. Needs work. Um....what else is there? i'm 25. Um............thats about it (Oh yeah and my girlfriend amy is awesome... she can edit stuff!!)

Apart from the engine and box, the other differences are the outside looks. (there maybe a few differences to the interior, but i haven't looked yet.) Ke70's came out with to front ends, one where the headlights amd grille are verticle, and the other one is the same as the ae71. I have heard a few people (wreakers, mainly) refer to the latter as the ke70-late. I believe that Toyota was swapping and changing between the 2 fronts in the last couple of years before the ae71 was released. I also believe that these 2 fronts are not interchangable, but I'm sure. Hey, I've been looking at this site for a while now, and I'd say it would be best bet for info on an engine swap that i'd like to try. I've got an old ke70 that i'd like to chuck in a commodore V6 (3.8). I've seen 308's in older 'rolla's, so why not somwthing a little different? How do ya think it'll go? thanks
