ca18de in a ke70

i just read fat bastard ride and its exactly how i want my ke70 to get....so I'm gonna ask him some questions.....hmmm cutting out weaken the integrity of the floor...damn......

hey i plan on installin an SR20 in my ke70......ur ride looks smooookin.....i would like to know what setup u used for getting the hydraulic type transmission to work in the ke70....thanksss

its growls like one lol.......grouped incorrectly??...gezz the service u get here is ridicous.....one the ride side hmmmmmm.....does that spell trouble or just a lil more work and it will fit??....Was i correct with the AE71 hydraulic setup though??....i am learning so much on this site that i am impressed......hey my msn address is [email protected] i would love to start chattin with anyone here....and if u want to add me..plz feel free.....

thanks teddy...i wanna go manual but getting parts for the CA real hard hence I'm leaning towards the SR cuz parts for any part of that engine is available sooo SRRRRR...lol 7shades i know diego martin my girlfriend is from there....lol...i am glad u loved ur stay but crime has engulfed our small island..kidnappings are common now.....its hurts me to say that but its all happening now...well back to the ke....its factory automatic so swappin in the ca wasnt much of a hassle.....i was reading on some topics and i wanna ask if the manual transmission is hydraulic for the SR??...i also read that a AE71 hydraulic setup can work but would have to be fitted to the slave cylinder or something so???

u are right 7shades cuz i remember someone saying that....but an SR should fit snug in the engine bay right??...the radiator came with the same engine..the person was kind-hearted to give it to me...u like the extractors though??....

has anyone ever tried an RB20DET in a ke70??.....i read that in the RB series that an RB25 and up is where u would see real power cuz an SR can easily beat an RB20??....I'm just wondering bout the weight in the front..it would throw off the balance of the car right??....unless i get stiffer springs in the front and better shocks???.......

i got the corolla DX model......ok u guys gave me good input and I'm thinkin of the SR20DE RWD now...I'm guessin for the gearbox to fit into the housing it would have to be enlarged cuz thats what the mechanics did for the CA tranny...would i have to swap in a diff or can my stock diff handle the SR??....Just by chance since i swapped in the CA18 my dash instruments don't work so i had to get a water temp and fuel with sender unit gauges, is there any way i can use my stock instruments?? I remember a mechanic said that there is an adapter that i can use but i havent been able to source it..was he saying CRAP or is there really one??....by the way this site ROCKSSSSSSS :) :hmm:

The SR20DE has a lot of technical help here but i love how the CA18DET has a stronger block with oil pistons....I would love to get my hands on a 4AG 20V front cut (the AE80 right??) but thats really hard to get......does anyone know the differential ratio of the ke70??....a mechanic said that i can use a lancer GSR disc stock with LSD..i just wanna know if that diff ratio would be wise???...i will post some pics over the weekend.....

hey people...i am all the way from trinidad,West Indies and i think this site is EXACTLY what i am lookin for since i got a CA18de in a KE70 corolla......well just to say i got a CA18DE auto but I'm looking to do a next engine conversion....from where i am the SR20DE(T)/VE and parts are easily available so I'm lookin to do an SR20DE or 4AG 20V (which are harder to source) but i am really torn as to which i should swap...i would like an outside option on this.....thanks guys...... :hmm:

hey i have a CA18DE swapped into the ke70 and it working real nice...I'm using OEM springs and shocks and I find it working real good and the braking is also OEM and i have no troubles so far...next year I'm planning to go turbo so that means everything upgrading...later on though I'm thinking bout getting CA16DE cams and putting them into the ca18de for a bit more pep in my step lol :lock:
