  1. couldnt help myself and it was just begging for boost, so now has 32/36 weber and have made the hat for the top of it. fuel system will get done this weekend then hopefully turbo on in the next few weeks
  2. i ended up painting a pin stripe on as the stick on pinstriping didnt really want to stick the the matt paint, also got a bonnet and tail gate off jip so hopefully have them painted in the next few days, then just got to pop the front windscreen out and replace the rubber because it leaks badly
  3. no name for it, as for motor is a 4k with 4 speed, i was thinking about doing a blow through turbo set up but to many other toys think i should keep one standard
  4. no these wheels are staying, white walls will be done soon yeh i think I'm going to change the pin striping like you said i have about 90metres of it so going to do a couple of ways and see what looks best
  5. my ke36 p/van bought this off jip about a month ago and is nearly ready for rego, have had the whole thing apart, complete new front end bushes, ball joints, tie rods, pitman, idler, shocks, springs, brakes and so on. also had to replace the front lower radiator support as it was in very bad shape, here are some pics
  6. yep plugs at 100'000kms, and timing belt kit at 150'000kms
  7. seeing things like this make me want to sell my two 500hp cars and build a 1000hp one, my favourite part of your car is the standard steering wheel thats awesome
  8. heres a good reason that you should do it,
  9. couldnt help myself sold my ca18 ke30 and not even two weeks later found this and so the story begins. Bought it as a crahed car that looks like was owned by and elderly lady has about 110'000kms. Plans are either 3rz or 1jz depends which comes up for the right price wont be going anything to serious as was intended as a daily driver so maybe something around 300-350rwhp hopefully reliable. Diff is a early hilux 2wd the shortest or them which is only slightly longer than the standard corolla one so will fit without cutting, just had to move the spring mounts out 20mm each side. The diff i got came with 4.8 diff gears so if anyone has something around 3.7-4.1 ratio may be interested. Front brakes are peugot rotors with about 6mm machined off the outside diameter, ln106 hilux 4 spot calipers, xt130 front struts and hubs i think i shortened them about 70mm and used st184 celica inserts. Coil over sleaves that i got through fulcrum which will be used with standard rubber tops and bearings. Camber will be achieved with sigma control arms which i already had with new bushes and ball joints should give me about 2.5 degrees depending on height. Brake master cylinder will be vk commodore which is 15/16 bore same as hilux diff and same as ln106 calipers which should fit straight on the corolla booster. So anyone got a motor for me at the right price?
  10. looks like a 6cyl c4 if so don't throw out the standard bellhousing put it on ebay i just sold one for $54 plus $33 freight they are starting to get hard to get for the ford boys, because most of them are in my shed haha.
  11. car is sold bye bye
  12. did you run them up in a lathe with a dial indicator to make sure they run true?
  13. havent driven it yet will put it back on the dyno when i get a chance. will probably still be for sale if anyone wants to make offers and see what happens, may also swap for standard corolla ke10-ke70 plus cash my way
  14. problem is hopefully fixed the intake manifold had a leak between cylinder one and where the thermastat is. didnt leak water into the cylinder but did leak boost into the cooling system maybe 25psi is enough boost haha, so just hoping that was the only leak and that it doesnt have one in the block as well. so time to turn the boost up and see what happens.
  15. yeh well maybe not selling now as i think the problem has come back and block is the last place, so may be doing a new motor in the next few weeks. And for the ba want to do a ba turbo wagon for the wifes daily to replace her 1jz cressida.
  16. new head is on and all seems to be good so far is pulling much better on the street. will try doing some more road tuning in the next few weeks. car is also for sale now to so i can finish other projects.
  17. head gasket got changed saturday but still same problem, checked bore and head while off but I'm thinking there may be a crack in the head somewhere that i couldnt see so will be changing head this weekend.
  18. head will be coming off tomorrow hopefully just need to replace head gasket and hopefully the head or block isnt cracked fingers crossed.
  19. tune not good, seems to be building up pressure in cooling system, so looks like head needs to come off for a little peak as to whats going on.
  20. booked dyno friday
  21. $200 so cheap enough
  22. i was cheap so couldnt resist
  23. been busy painting other car so have been slack again with this one, did spend some time but trying to figure out why the turbo wouldnt stop leaking and ended up being stupid cheap catch can being to restrictive, so bought a new one and ran some bigger breather hoses and problem solved. also fitted a bosch plumb back bov to help a bit with the surging with big boost. still yet to see dyno again but feels really strong with 25psi on the street. have holidays from work in a couple off weeks so should get a chance to make a trip to the drags to see what shes got.
  24. did a bit of road tuning and cat convertor was definately the problem had partly blocked up and wouldnt make power past 5000rpm. camshafts were to dear so just used a non turbo ca18 intake cam which has 6 degrees more duration and .7mm more lift than the turbo intake cam. so hopefully will give a little gain. should be ready to go back on dyno soon.
