  1. yes mine will still be 4 speed, keas are a very good box and well worth the money if you have something like a vlt commodore, as they came with a jatco standard. I'm just lucky that toyotas build there stuff half strong from the factory, and yes does suck that you can't put a 1jz in your wagon. i have a ke36 panelvan and also have a spare 1jz and gearbox in the shed but not aloud to put it in.
  2. i can build a box for mine for about $1500 to handle around 500-550rwhp, to build a jatco that strong your looking at around $4000-5000 for a keas box. 6boosts ke70 currently has no motor or box in it, will be interesting to see if the 1ggte goes back in or not :( if you have a large amount of money he might part with his motor and you could put it in your car :)
  3. its just got a $300 valvebody that i fitted, pull the pan off and bolt on. all the clutches, bands and so on are 200'000kms old and standard toyota, so its doing pretty well for a $300 gearbox
  4. I'm just glad my gearbox is still working, not sure if a standard gearbox is supposed to be launched like that
  5. yes i like the power to but I'm greedy and want more
  6. there are a couple of good pics on boostcruising.com i wont copy them they are on the front page
  7. yeh don't get me wrong i still like manuals, i would love a jza70 manual but can't afford any more cars :)
  8. yes auto is what id go for, i had a ke30 ca18det with 300rwhp manual and it was fun, but cressida is much more fun with the auto. you don't need a clutch to kick when you have auto with power. anything under 100kph is wheelspin city.
  9. yes it is, its giving me insentive to get my cortina going
  10. yeh power band is very good makes over 400rwhp from 4500rpm to 8000rpm
  11. 437rwhp 21psi and I'm out of injectors
  12. yeh i saw one of OKE020's runs front wheels were well off the ground
  13. only got one run tonight wasnt lining back up was to busy will have to go down on a wednesday night soon. ran 11.3 at 120 mph with 1.79 60 foot again, i accidently short shifted it from first to second at about 5000rpm so lost a couple of mph there, also launched it on about 12psi but i recon the tires might be able to hold a 15psi lauch next time.
  14. tune tomorrow morning and all going well drags tomorrow night, see if its got that 10 second in it.
  15. yes mx83 cressidas have 3.9 ratio
  16. yeh they are from a hilux just make sure you don't get the early hilux ones as they are course spline on the pinion, you need the pinion with fine spline to fit a cressida
  17. 4.3 diff gears are now in and 3.5 inch exhaust is also done. tuning again soon and if I'm lucky might be able to run a 10 next time out.
  18. street tires are 225/35 20 so can't really go any smaller without changing rims. and slicks the smaller you go the skinner they get so really diff gears is the easiest option.
  19. does anyone on here know if hilux diff gears are a dirrect fit into cressida diff? want to change to 4.3 ratio
  20. it is starting to get that way, next goal is high 10's in full street trim which shouldnt be far off now, then my mate that tunes it wants to do a race fuel tune and go for around a mid 10
  21. ran 11.55 117mph, can't wait for more boost
  22. drags tomorrow hopefully make it there and back and run a half decent time
  23. yeh ballancer was pricey but well worth the money and it will need it for future plans of this car. fast autos are very fun everyone thinks you need a clutch to have fun but the right convertor and plenty of power is way better than any clutch.
  24. i fitted new radiator today and an extra fan and now temperatures stay around 90 degrees even when giving it a flogging. also was the first good drive ive taken it on since i changed the convertor and has basicaly no lag anymore (which means lots of skids) so might have to invest in some wider rubber for street dutys.
