  2. it is a complete motor (2jzge) so will put a spare 1jz head on it and have a 1.5jz for cheap and i have heaps of spare 1jz autos so can just use one of those.
  3. have been waiting for the dyno I'm using to be fixed, so no tune yet but i did happen to buy a 2jz just to sit in the shed. not sure if it will end up in this or in my ke55. I'm leaning towards ke55 but

  5. fuel pumps are now in, you can just fit two walbros in a cressida tank. hopefully get a chance to get it on the dyno this week

  7. 400 litres of e85 should last me a couple of months, i asked to look at the spec sheet at the servo and it is 105 octane and between 70-85% ethanol so i would think that the 105 rating would be on the 70% mix as a minimum rating. they mix more petrol in it in winter as it can be hard to start cars, because it has less energy per litre than normal petrol.
  8. they rate the fuel at 70-85% ethanol, we will be adding about 5 degrees of timing with the ethanol could add probably up to 10 degrees but going to keep it pretty safe.
  9. yes correct, e-flex doesnt have the additives that the drum e85 has but will be fine for what i want. injectors are now in and running just got to do fuel pump now
  10. ok thanks guys found one at churchill that sells it, which is only about 5 minutes from willowbank. its only about $1 a litre, doesnt have the additives like the other stuff i was going to get but I'm cheap so will just get that. i have two empty 44 gallon drums so will probably fill them both.
  11. not sure where its from my mates picking up 3 drums, but just under $2.50 a litre i think. will be good when it comes to the pump in qld should only be around $1. don't think i will make it to track this weekend as I'm only doing injectors tonight so maybe next week.
  12. r&d is a deffinate, less weight is not as important as it weighs about 150kg less than my cressida and also has the bonus of a solid rear diff. 1.5 60 foots and 135mph should get me to where need. like i said its all in the tune and the build, 500rwhp is about as far as i will push it as its got to be semi reliable don't want to be working on it everyday no idea probably not very good cause its manual, if i can get the cortina to mid 1.5 60 foots ill be happy now enough of cortina and back to cressida, can't wait for my 44gallon drum of e85 this weekend and get back to the track. may need to also fit some stiffer rear springs as it was squating pretty bad last time, and the extra power isnt going to fix that problem

  14. couple of years so far but i suppose that doesnt count, cause surely you couldnt run more than 10 passes without bending a rod
  15. that dyno sheet that i posted for 627rwhp has done more than 10 runs at the track on a stock bottom end, if you had clicked on the link you would not look as silly now headgasket will be fine its all in the tune yeh I'm not really worried as long as it beats the wifes car, i have another project on the go that will make both of these look soft but seeing as there are to many people on here that know everything wont bother sharing it. you probably know what it is but, its green and has two doors and is getting boost
  16. i think now i have enough gearboxes haha, hopefully getting some e85 this weekend and time for tune. would really like to run close to 10.5 in street trim, so I'm thinking i will need around 490rwhp which is 50hp more than i had to run 11.0
  17. link to 627rwhp el standard pistons/rods 18psi i believe oke020 still runs et radial tires, and also know of cars running 7 second passes with et radial tires. so a 9 on radials is pretty common my mate has a tf cortina street car that makes 530rwhp and runs 9.68. turbo 3.3 crossflow motor standard rods and cast acl pistons
  18. pump fuel is easy to make 500rwhp with 4litres and a 66mm turbo(the cressida makes 437rwhp on 20psi with same turbo with only 2.5 litres on pump fuel), tires will be m/t et street which are a slick but street legal. a mate made 500rwhp with a 4.0litre and same turbo as me on 20psi, so will make somewhere around that. as for doing more than 1 pass 500rwhp is fairly tame to some of the 4.0litres from up this way, ive seen 630rwhp from a standard el falcon 4.0l with a t51r turbo, and have a mate with a bf typhoon with 750rwhp standard engine. conrods in a 4.0 sohc are bigger than rods in a ba turbo dohc
  19. engine is pretty standard, has au steel headgasket, xr6 valve springs and new rings and bearings. should make 500rwhp on around 20psi, it has the same turbo as the cressida with a bigger exhaust housing.
  20. Hopefully the rain holds off for another couple of days so i get a chance to do my upgrades this week, considering this car has been built under a carport i can't wait for my shed to get built.
  21. i think I'm going to have to cage both of them, cortina is nearly finished i want it to run a 9 second pass on pump fuel and street tires it has to be faster than the wifes car. if i stop spending money on the wifes car i might get mine finished, this is how mine sits at the moment
  22. one spare gearbox turned up so in the next couple of weeks will try to do injectors and fuel pump and then retune time
  23. nothing wrong with the ex-taxi why do you think they use falcons as taxis, they can go around the clock without needing rebuilds. one choice for car is a typhoon can run 10's with standard turbo and limited bolt ons

  25. haha i call the wife a boost junkie, she does the odd accidental skid under power but shes usually a pretty tame driver. saying that i don't think she needs much more power. i need to decide on a new daily driver for her soon if anyone has any suggestions? so i can make the cressida have lots of power
