  1. Thanks guys, bit of blowtorch heat and a bar over the breaker bar got them off. Still can't work out crank pulley bolt and can't find a tool to hold it in place so any suggestions (not involving using my palm or starting the engine) would be great.
  2. Hey guys, I've got the 4k I'm going to rebuild up on an engine stand, have all accessories off valve rocker off, push rods out and now at the point of removing the head but I cannot get enough pressure to losen the bloody bolts! Even cracked out the rattle gun and it couldn't budge them. I've hit them with wd40 and left overnight and still no joy. Also have same issue with sump drain bolt. Anyone ever had this problem and know how to get the bloody things free? Thanks in advance

Hey guys, Found some shifters in my spares pile, think the short one might be from my capri but was hoping the longer one is a ke70 k50 shifter as it doesn't have the two balls that the ke55 one has from memory. Can anyone identify what box it's from? Hoping to to a five speed box but can't find any with shifters so this would save me a lot of time! Thanks in advance

  6. Hey Guys, I'm just starting to tear apart a 4k of unknown miles that I'm planning on dropping into my ke10. As i want to basically do as much myself as possible on the car but have limited knowledge i was hoping someone could help out with the below questions. So what i have planned is Bigger Cam Extractors twin su's 1 1/2 on lynx manifold New gaskets all round Now where i am unsure is should i start messing around with new pistons and rings / Cam chain upgrade to the twin chain version / porting head and spring upgrade? See when i start getting into that level of tear down I'm outside my comfort zone, the cost isnt an issue but i would either have to 1) send to a mechanic to do or 2) find someone willing to come round and supervise I would prefer to find a mechanic who would be willing to come and make sure i put everything back in the right places etc but let me do the work I'm just not sure if i need to. Hey Guys My names Paul on here as #Qldke10# I'm located east brissy way and just literally picked up a 67 ke10 rolling shell which was slowly dying in some guys shed - NO rust and fresh paint though so a great starting points. Daily drive is a Kawasaki so thats going to make sourcing parts fun! Ill post some pictures once i figure out how to do that from my phone. Cheers

  9. I wanted to blast and repaint some original seat rails I've found that are rusted pretty good but they don't seperate like other cars I've worked on. Anyone know how they come apart?
  10. Hey TJ where are you located? I know of a ke10 in bundaberg that i just cut a whole bunch of stuff off i needed and the guy is moving to Newcastle in a week so. If your based in qld and want original struts ill pm you his number. Otherwise swap them for ke20 struts

So i picked up the newest member of my family on saturday and have decided to name him Roland the KE10, its going to be a bit of a trip to get him back on the road so thought i might document a little. Also by my count he would be the fourth oldest ke10 on the site which is kinda cool. Roland is just a shell at the moment and he suffers from a common problem with half finished projects FBF fabrication before funds. The guy i bought him off was planning (for seven years) to put an SR20 in so got rid of all rust, resprayed, almost finished widening the tunnel, changed front struts to ke20? (might need someone to identify when i figure out how to upload pics from my phone) and a rollcage (thats going) as well as some totally sacriligious things like cutting the dash and welding on checker plate to put in gauges (douche) and chopping the lower front panel to accomodate an intercooler. He then promptly ran out of money. I think he should have read the starting a project post on here! So on sunday i went on the hunt for some rockinghorse shit as i have seen someone put it on the forums and did a 10 hour round trip to bundaberg where i tracked down a guy with a rusted out 67 in his paddock and cut an original dash out as well as the front panel and a set of original front seats. So i now have about as much stuff as possible besides and engine and box to get to work, for the sake of getting Roland back on the road where he belongs as quickly as possible I'm just going to drop a 4k and hopefully a 50k in (in the process of tracking these down) So ill post some pics when i can but you wilk also probably see plenty of posts which go along the lines of "what the hell is this" and "i seem to be missing something" so I'm looking forward to picking your brains! I think it seems fitting to put the first one of those up now, does anyone have a picture of their ke10 engine bay without the engine in so i can see what the factory mount locations looks like as i have a sneaking suspision mine have been moved forward but i don't know if thats a new crossmember from a later model or if its a intentional move for the future sr.   14. Hey guys, Picking up a new ke10 rolla project in the morning which is same old unfinished project story. Solid body resprayed and no rust so great base. Now it doesnt have a drive train so i was looking for a good 4 or 5 k base to drop in there (my understanding is pretty much no mods required to do this yes?) I was going to pair either of these with a k50 to get it on the rosd and cruising as quick as possible so i don't end up leaving it to sit for too long. If anyone has either engine (hopefully around brissy) please let me know. Also any advice or tips from experience with this install would be awesome. Cheers

  18. Hey guys I'm new so hi, I'm working on what I think is a 67 ke10 but I can't find any history on the car using the chassis number which is below 260000 which is why I believe it's a 67? Can anyone share a link to a rolla database I can search? Thanks in advance can't wait to come cruising when she is finished
