yeh i guess I'm used to looking at different cars, but usually i would think running a straight pipe through instead of having mufflers and other restriction would help performance.

so maybe jsut straight through from midway, so keep the cat and just take replace it after it loops over the axle just before the muffler? my mate just got a 84 corrolla and took the exhaust straight off and they rekon the performance increase is amazing, would be a different engine i guess.

I'm hooking up a home job straight through exhaust without cat, muffler ect and just wondering what kind of performance increase (if any) i can expect with a 3k engine. also I'm worried about how loud its gonna be, any ideas? cheers

also, the engine is definately a 3k, i looked at the engine number.

lol, i tried to get a datsun, but they wanted so much more for them even if they were similar models to the KE30. i guess its the price u pay for quality :) and i have had other people think 4dr skylines are cefiros, but really skylines are just the Jap version of our commodore, the sedan models are the base for the skyline, and the coupe models we see in Aus are the sports coupe models like the HSV GTS coupe for instance. my model is like the ss, sports sedan, same performance as the coupe, just with another door.

yeh true, all this car is for is a daily driver. but like all vehicles i have i get a feeling to modify or do-up in some way. its in awsome condition, the interior is perfect except for the drivers seat, and the exterior is in fairly good nic with a few chips and rust. for $900 i thought it was a good buy even thou it is auto. i probs could have got a better deal if i shopped around a bit but i needed it soon. so yeh, i wouldnt mind putting a manual box in it as right now its so gutless with the auto box, and its nowhere near as fun. oh and the car is a R32 Gts-t Skyline, and its off the road at the moment, which is why i got the rolla :)

hey, I'm the guy with the KE30. anyone know where there is a write up on the conversion, like a step by step guide? or anyone wanna do it for me for a reasonable charge as i have nfi about these cars.
