Someone on this forum will buy it.... Make it less than 500 bucks and I reckon it'll be gone by the weekend... :)
-
Yeah that looks like the same setup I had on a datsun 120Y... generic aftermarket gear with compressor brackets etc to suit particular models. works well, but not integrated with factory controls and seriously reduces space on the passenger side

Having just installed aircon into my KE70 (thanks big_al) i can tell you its not that tricky to do... especially if you have the original installation manual (thanks teddy) :) unfortunately you can't just use any old arcon bits though... every car has its own completely different setup. Mind you, you should pretty much be able to fit any aircon gear from any 4k equipped rolla into yours, at least the under-bonnet components at least. the tricky part will be finding the cooler-box thingy that goes under the dash... and then the wiring... (not sure if pre KE70 have the aircon wiring already in the loom... someone know?) Other than that, the actual physical installation of the assorted parts is pretty easy.

Good to hear its not heading to 'rolla heaven (where the roads are nicely paved and cambered and there are no hills with lengthy gradual inclines)... and hey, at the very least, if you can find a nice place to store it its an appreciating asset!

Works well in theory but you may have trouble delivering enough fuel... But hey give it a whack you can always get bigger carbies for pocket bikes on ebay if you need to... PS. later model RWD TE-TG geminis had the air pump setup too as well as mazda 323/626 etc... thats the ones I know of but I'm sure there's a shitload of early to mid 80's cars with that crap dangling off 'em

I'd say hang on to it... Those coupes look great when tastefully done up... especially if all the chromework is still in good nick. Just a nice set of 14 or 15 inch wheels and lowered a sensible 50mm and they present a really cool profile whilst being very cost effective and reliable daily transport.

They actually decrease power. The air pump runs on its own belt like an alternator and anything running on a belt will reduce power.

From what I can gather, there were JDM diesel tercels but only in the later models with east-west engines and fulltime AWD. I have the obscure AL25 with the north-south 3ac and part time 4wd. Options seem to be limited.
-
Well... that was the answer I didn't want, but glad I got. Cheers for the research ancullen. aaaw but the 4AG is just so ho-hum..... I wanna do something different with the ninja tercel....
-
Ok boffins.... Google hasn't been able to help me this time. I have, amongst many other cars, an 84 tercel with a 3AC. I dig this car... It drives over or through whatever you point it at with surprising enthusiasm. So considering the duties the poor little ninja tercel is forced to endure, I'd really love to shove a diesel in it rather than the 4AGE I have quietly corroding in the shed. I also make my own biodiesel so yeah... cheap transport! Anyone know if JDM 'rollas had a diesel variant in the A series?

Anyone Experienced With Serious Rust Removal
7shades replied to ke70km/h's topic in General Mechanical
He only said no bog... :D But in all seriousness I had an RA40 celica with the same problem. I just picked up a sheet of 1mm steel and made a completely new spare wheel well. Not a hard job at all, just a jigsaw with a fine metal blade and a few tack welds. Once the tub was tacked into place I just ran around the gaps with a line of sikaflex. -

Dude.... regardless of your speed, the guy INSTRUCTED you too speed up when you're being tailgated... like its written in the rule book somewhere! I just rang up a mate of mine who is an instructor, and he assures me that in queensland at least, there is NO such rule requiring you to do that. Also, he informs me that most of the basic rules have been nationally standardised so unless the dude can find some CURRENT written evidence of the law existing you're well within your rights to dispute the fail. Do it do it do it... rock the boat dude we get enough shit heaped on us AFTER we get our licences... don't let your spirit get crushed before you even taste the sweet freedom of the road. Jesus that was rather vitriolic wasn't it....
-
I'll see your 'rolla and raise you a volvo... damn I wish I had a scanner to get those photos online. Stay tuned. Also jumped a stanza so many times the front strut towers bent inwards and one of the rear springs smashed through into the boot... still managed to drive the little bugger home though :)
-
sweet... man i wish we got the two door over here.... My first mods would be a nicer looking front end with clear turn signals and ditch those rear side marker lights... oh and maybe smooth out the love tap on the back left quarter panel :)

Ever so slightly off topic, whats the process invloved with croming plastic? I see it a lot on cars from the factory I just have no idea who does it aftermarket.... ancullen you got any info on this?
-
Holysnappingduckshit that was a quick reply. You either rock, or you're really bored. either way, cheers. :)

hey peeps Does someone have a pic of where the aircon lines are positioned in the engine bay of a KE70? I've got it all set up the way I think its meant to be but the last KE I had with aircon was quite a few years ago so the memory is a bit fuzzy and I wanna make sure its right before I juice her up. (cheers to big als army for the gear too. I highly recommend buying from this dude... that shiznit was packed better than peter everett's arse on mardi gras night)

Yeah your window regulator is munted. Common problem. Find a new one... 6 bolts to change it over....

There's sooo many wicked cars on that site.... I wouldn't mind picking up the TE71gt2, TA22gt and maybe a KP61 starlet for the mistress... oh to be stupidly wealthy... And I quote: Now becoming, it is TE71 [rebin] which has become the rare car. The current car the car between [haza] of the old car it is, but when we would like to use by the commuting car without hesitation, you purchased with thing. The engine is normal, but underside TRD strengthening (F) in pyro height pitch TRD make front and back under guard it is surface in the position with [arumihayashireshingu] of 4 [pini] LSD installed fairway rules. Very you don't think that the parenthesis to be good it has been decided? Interior being full normal, also the internal equipment upper quality was TE71. heh heh... I love google translator and japlish :(
